  1. Great work on both these layouts and their titles, Cristina. I am so jealous of you going to that exhibition; it must have been mind-blowing.
  2. Susan, the entire town is beautiful, with limestone buildings. There is an older part, which is beautifully decked out in a mix of vintage and steampunk. We go there whenever we travel to Christchurch. A little way out, north of Oamaru, is a castle and gardens with a restaurant, and shops galore, owned by the same family.
  3. Yes, I have a few steampunk files, it fascinates me. I have some friends who dress that way, not me, though.
  4. Ann, wow, a jumping spider! I've seen them fall, but never jump! Eeew, that's pretty scary! The turkey is great. I'm so glad you showed him this year. I hope witness protection is looking after him well. Both images are fabulous!
  5. Those fonts work so well together, Gwen, and that owl, such a wise choice for Watching You! I love what you created with the background, too.
  6. I love this collection of fonts. Looking forward to the final page, Anita.
  7. Day 2 This was an interesting exercise, I must say. I enjoyed creating a word from many fonts, it really did make me think. I had to cut and paste the 'unk' from the 'steamp' to bring the letters closer together. It was such fun choosing the letters to use. We have a steampunk museum in Oamaru, a town about 3.5 hours away. I love the museum and the displays around this town. The old town is full of steampunk memorabilia. I used papers from Raindrops and Rainbows, recolouring them to suit. I also used a rust texture to bring the black paper into a more steampunk rust colour. The other paper is a mix of Janet's black and orange papers.
  8. This is such a beautiful clear and clean page, Susan. The image you have used is lovely and the daisies look wonderful as a fill in that font.
  9. Day 1 I played around with this one, when creating the page, I used the same settings for the papers and the photograph, yet they look different, not sure why! I wanted the idea of waves crashing into the shore with rocks flowing in with the water. I used Cafe Rojo for the word BEACH and 1 Archer DNA for the remainder of the text. This lovely photograph of a friend's son and his family at the beach. It was Ruby's first trip to the beach.
Hi Jannette, using Google Translate, I hope you get the gist of what I am saying. I'm sorry to hear about your husband, I pray he will improve. I am looking forward to seeing what you can do in this workshop. Spending time with your husband and visitors is a priority, I am sure Carole will do this workshop again sometime, if you're unable to complete.
  11. Hi everyone, I am in, too. I'm a typography addict, so looking forward to this workshop. It is a long time since I had a good play with fonts.
  12. Easy to do when the work is right in your face, I often find stepping away for a cuppa helps. I am fairly visual and 'see' things others may not, at times.
  13. I love this idea, Sue. And the quote is great.
  14. Beautiful, Susan. However, check your spelling on the lower wording at the bottom right. You have Michael spelled Micheal only once. I, too, love the fonts used.
  15. Thank you, Michele, truth be told, I wanted to use a key but wasn't sure where to place it, then, it hit me, replace the o in Locked! Not planned, just a fluke, really.
  16. Thankyou, Daniel, I downloaded your nautical picture tubes.
  17. For some reason, I am having difficulty posting, every time I go to the bottom of the page to reply to topic, I get the entire page come up, so I am replying to Carole's comment this time. For Day 5 Project 2 I have chosen to use a photograph I took years ago at a dam in Central Otago. I often take photos to create textures and I loved the cobwebs on this old lock. I decided to use a copy of the same photo, with a Sheilsoft script, a soft ultra tone, then altered this copy's hue, saturation, and lightness. I used Jessica Dunn's Spring Skies mini kit, altering the colours to suit. The green polka dot paper was quite bright and I felt it took over this image so I adjusted the green to a more muted grey/green. I also adjusted the white paper's hue, saturation, and lightness, not changing the white, and changing the flowers instead. The stitching is from Marisa Lerin from Digital Scrapbook, the key from Sheila Reid, also from Digital Scrapbook although I used the artistic effect chrome to brighten the key. I have been playing with the Beginners' Scrapbooking projects and had created something for this particular layout, and decided to do something different for the bootcamp.
  18. Carolyn, we all started somewhere, that is what is wonderful amongst this gang of creatives, and we learn from each other as well. Have fun, and you will find the learning gets easier.
  19. Day 3, Project 1 I enjoyed playing with this one. My younger sister and I, not sure how old we are in this one, but it certainly wasn't yesterday I used a kit, Classy Mini, from Jessica Dunn at Curio Pantry. Instead of a scatter, I chose her string, changed the colour to copper then added picture tube hearts to the string, which I colourised.
  20. Not better, Carolyn, just different from yours. Mine, last time, was similar to yours. You added a spoon for stirring your coffee, that shows initiative.
  21. Carole, my psp google.io group do a weekly share and with that, I type in my search engine 'free png downloads' then the subject, eg 'slices of onion'. Many images come up and often, as with this exercise, many unusuitable,, but the odd one that can be utilised. Hope this helps someone who might not know how to find images.
  22. Day 2 Sandwich That was fun searching for everything for my setting and sandwich.
  23. Looking forward to this bootcamp, it all helps me learn more. I've been playing with Paintshop Pro for many years and, since joining Scrapbook Campus, I am learning so much about how this programme works. Below is my workspace, I'm working my way through the beginners' scrapbook projects. I used to use the light grey workspace and, about a year or so ago, I went to dark. I find the images stand out for me on the dark workspace.
  24. Same here, and I got another wrong as well.
  25. 13/15, some work to do here. I watched the videos of the last 2 and haven't done them yet.
