  1. Day 2 Sandwich That was fun searching for everything for my setting and sandwich.
  2. Looking forward to this bootcamp, it all helps me learn more. I've been playing with Paintshop Pro for many years and, since joining Scrapbook Campus, I am learning so much about how this programme works. Below is my workspace, I'm working my way through the beginners' scrapbook projects. I used to use the light grey workspace and, about a year or so ago, I went to dark. I find the images stand out for me on the dark workspace.
  3. Same here, and I got another wrong as well.
  4. 13/15, some work to do here. I watched the videos of the last 2 and haven't done them yet.
  5. You can use psd files in Paintshop Pro. I get PSD templates rather than single layers as in jpgs and TIFFs. That way they are already in layers and makes for easier moving of elements, if required.
  6. Great information there, Susan. I love fonts and have read heaps about them, I studied them in my Graphic Design course and have enjoyed learning about them ever since. There are some wonderful sources online about type and I often share them with my online graphics group. Working with a good x-height when creating text for layouts is always good. The larger the x-height, the more readable the font is. Also, learning to combine fonts is great especially when creating scrapbook pages. Serif fonts are excellent for journalling because the serif leads the eye along a piece of journalling, although I often use a sans serif font. After all, I love simple, clean fonts.
  7. Lesson 5 Curly Ribbons Oh dear, I'm not sure my hand was steady enough for these. And, I did give them a go, although I'm having trouble with lesson 6, not my best one, I am sure. Funnily enough, when I uploaded my lesson here, I noticed mistakes and had to correct those. Easily enough with the warp brush and the eraser.
  8. Lesson 4 This was an interesting lesson. I created the background using the top right flower and kaleidoscope. I like what I got and have saved it into my backgrounds folder. The only flower I used the warp brush was the lower right flower. The practice lesson The tutorial lesson Thanks, Carole, I will need lots more study on shadows, I see. Jeni
  9. Lesson 3 I am behind since the ctrl z was used so often on this one I decided to let it go and send in what I have done, to get feedback, at least. I think scripts might save me some time with lifted shadows, I don't feel too confident at this stage. I think the second photo looks better. Jeni
  10. Shadow Workshop Lesson 2 Jeni
  11. Susan, the woman I got her from had already taken mum and her kittens on a 600 km journey by the time I got her. I just continued, taking her to the grocery store to start with. Then to visit with friends. The long journeys were interesting, and she never got lost. I don't know what she did once I let her out in the mornings, and I'd get back from a conference and she'd be waiting. It made things so much easier when heading away on holiday, we didn't have to get anyone to look after her. I don't know how true it is, I heard the Dalai Lama carries a cat with him, hidden in his robes when travelling. A kitten I had earlier, was taken by bus, train, boat, and aircraft. The journey by plane was interesting. I had given her some water at the airport in Dunedin after traveling from Auckland. When I got back on the plane, she meowed, and the woman ahead of me asked the hostess had she heard a cat? The hostess said we don't allow cats on planes, and didn't say anything to me so I didn't enlighten her. My kitten was six weeks old, tiny, and I carried her in a paper bag with a pillow case in the bottom, and she slept most of the way.
  12. Linda, on the shadow layer, I renamed it with the settings so that I can go back and check what I did. I don't know whether that would help, it is my way of doing some things. Jeni
  13. I love how Harmony did the string, and don't have the information yet on how to do that. For some reason, the shadows are not showing up on the photographs so well, so I have cropped to show them better. Jeni
  14. We most certainly do have wonderful memories. My girl went everywhere we went, she didn't particularly enjoy travelling in the car, yet she would enjoy exploring every new place we travelled to. Staying with friends, she would take off, and only return when it was time to eat. I remember coming back to our tent once, to find her curled up sleeping under the tent floor. Anyone meeting her would show surprise when she would return at meal times, of course, cats always want their meals on time! She was attached to me, more than a place.
  15. Sadly, my cat is no longer with us. She didn't need a cat flap because she would jump up and swing on the door handle until it opened and in she would come. She lived to a great 19 years of age when we had to have her put down.
  16. Julie, I love this shabby chic look about your page. Your mother looks so elegant, I can tell by how upright she sits, and the crossing of her legs at the ankles. I tend to choose neutral shades for my layouts and I love those colours.
  17. Thank you, Susan, I am thinking of doing much the same. I believe the classes and tutorials are excellent, and I have learned so much in a short time. I downloaded a few tutorials and started doing the Labs and I need to go back and do more of that hands-on work. I plan on continuing the workshops Carole opens up to us, there is even more learning with the extra help given to each participant, not just by Carole, but by everyone doing that same workshop, too.
  18. Cindy, I plan on doing the same, I want to join the Diamond Membership, and I am on a single income and bills get too high! However, I hope to do a monthly membership every so often when I can, because I think it is well worth the money.
  19. I think that would be the Lock Transparency in the layers palette. When we lock the layer, we can colour it without going through the rigmarole I always did before Carole explained that tool. It is a time-saver!
  20. Fiona, the way I remembered that one, which was the first time I had heard it, was the word 'cut' in there.
  21. I had another play with Day 7's vectors. I knew I had used jellybeans yet my image didn't have the pretty colours I had used originally. I searched through all my picture tubes and realised the one I had originally used was Easter Jellybeans. Showing the Jellybeans first. The Easter Jellybeans
  22. Good for you, the result is feedback on what you may need to study. Maybe do as Corrie suggested to Susan, do the tutorials again in a few weeks, that way you can go over what you may have forgotten between doing the workshop and the quiz.
  23. I got 9 out of 10, so surprised at how much I remembered.
  24. Take care, Doska, your health is most important. I don't know when Carole will do this workshop again, and I am sure Vectors will be here maybe next year, they are such fun to do, even when not going right. Look after you first. Sending good health and love your way.
  25. Susan, I think it is a matter of doing the tutorials regularly to pick up these tools. Vectors have scared me, they appear so difficult, yet I am sure, going over what we have learned would help. I hope to remember the tutorials as best I can and try to redo them soon, while they are still in my mind. A few gems have come from members all throughout, and they helped me.
