When I read how long you waited to install a ceiling light I just laughed out loud. I've had so many projects around the house over the years and waited way too long to get some of them done. When they were done, I couldn't figure out why I had waited so long!!!!! They made such a difference in the general comfort or ease in the house. Years ago, in a smaller house, there was a metal post in front of the laundry sink in the basement. I always worked around it. Then after maybe 15 years or so I had it removed since it wasn't a support of any kind. It was like freedom at last! In this house, I have a few of those types of jobs that need doing. The difference today is how hard it is to get someone to do a small job. Enjoy your new well-lit room!

When I see these wonderful Bootcamp projects, I am amazed at how good they are! Well done everyone. When I look back at my very first attempts, they make me laugh, and not with good humour....but with embarrassment! ?

I don't know if it's the colours or the beautiful pooch, but this is just outstanding. Love the little details you added to make it so unified.

Ah, a nudge to my design sense. Thanks for that!

Susan, I think you nailed it: they are really challenging in a design sense. And I don't have much of that! But it's fun to try.

I wonder why it takes me SO-O-O long to do one of these. I dither and worry and then change things around and then don't feel really satisfied with the results. But then I just want it out of my sight and posted. Later, I will want to make even more changes, but can't (thank goodness). I am thankful to have those two Cass scripts (open as new layer and clip to it). These are my rescue animals who share the house with me. The one at the bottom is the one who lives outdoors with his/her tribe and gets chased all the time.

Mary Solaas, I also got OCD about creating the curve shape. I managed to get the shape I wanted (many times), but then that was the end of it. No selection tool worked for me without deleting the actual curve. I will now try with your helpful hint: selecting all the way around the sides of the layer. That makes sense. Good for you for sticking to it! Well done.

Hi Cindy, I'm not sure if you meant to reply to my comment? I was asking about the curved shape; I don't think it's a mask. But if it is, I will check it out! Thanks.

I'm trying to follow the steps Mireille listed (on Jan 5) using the pen tool to draw a curved shape. I can get the shape, but it's the "selecting" part that I'm having trouble with. After the curve is drawn and smooth, what tool do I use to select it? All I get is the marching ants around the shape; then when I invert and press delete, the shape disappears. I'm clearly missing something here.

BLTs are my favourite too! With french fries, always!

This is what I made for the January Challenge. Used photos from a high school reunion (my sister's) which I also went to. Most of the bits and pieces come from a freebie called "little moments". Can't recall where I got it, maybe Digital Scrapbooking.

I know, I just don't take advantage of them enough the way others do. Gotta change that.

This is what I need. Inspiration! Staring at a blank canvas and trying to be "creative" is just not working.

Not applying here, Gerry. Just wanted to say I really like the effect and design of your card. ;-))

Even though it felt a bit pressured sometimes (b/c I couldn't find some pieces for so long), it was a clever and fun way to get us to "tour" the whole site. But I imagine it was a lot of work for you, Carole. Thanks for hints and clues and cheering us along the way. I was also really glad when I got the last piece and put it together.
-
It's finally put together and sent to Carole. I think I made it in time before the deadline. I found the last, long-sought-for piece #9 just last night. Whew.
-
Oh Carole, now I learn that the pieces don't need to be rotated or flipped! And someone else mentioned they go into the base in the order they are numbered!!!!! Now, I just HAVE to go back and start again with inserting the pieces! Thanks for encouragement all. But not tonight....sleep.
-
I'm so done! I found all but #9. Tried to fit the pieces, got 8 in their places on top half, then went crazy with flipping and rotating and losing the remaining pieces as they jumped around. Couldn't take anymore. But it was fun and addictive. And I'm glad I tried it.
-
I went back to it last night, found more but still missing two: #9 and # 13. It is fun trying to fit the pieces into the base. I have marked so many locations I want to go back to to use some of the amazing resources I wasn't aware of before. This has been a brilliant "tour" of the site.

Right off the start, I was able to find nine balloon clues. Then I had to leave it behind. Tried again today to find some more, but I am bleary-eyed with looking. Think I'll just put together what I have and try another time, before the fun expires.

Darn! I've been trolling through the site (and learning a lot about where things are) and have got some of the pieces. But today I can't work on it much, have to be out. It's bloody addictive! Good work Carole!
