Annie Tobin Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Cristina, delightful work on this project, it has turned out beautifully. Olivia is an obviously much loved little darling, shows in her sweet face. Well done my friend. <3 1
Annie Tobin Posted April 8, 2019 Posted April 8, 2019 Well, Teri I personally think you have loads of imagination. If other works inspire you and you are able to create something beautiful from that inspiration then you have used your own imagination. This result is really beautiful, kudos to you my friend. <3 1
Michele Posted April 9, 2019 Posted April 9, 2019 Yes, Annie, I do use 2019 Ultimate. It locks up occasionally, but the other night was particularly frustrating as I use pictures tubes every day to watermark my work for the gaming group as I share them with other groups. It just kept locking up every time I closed it with Task Manager which was at least a dozen times. It was perfectly fine the next day, but I also think I might have installed an update that night. My version now reads 21.1.0.22. Teri, that's a wonderful page you made; the dotted swiss pattern was perfect to highlight the tinted pic. I have a lot of resources I downloaded when I first started digital art, and I also don't know where they came from. What I do now is rename each file to include the source. It's time consuming, but I like to give credit when using FTU items. It's nice enough that people share for free, they should at least get the credit. Cristina, Sharon, admitting we have a problem is the first step towards recovery. LOL ~ Michele 1

Milan Ch Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to scrapbooking. Right now, I'm working on a family photo album for my mother's 62nd birthday next month. I found a lot of old photos in my parents' attic and I'm organizing and decorating the album. Has anyone ever worked on a similar project? As I said, I haven't been scrapbooking for long. There is so much to learn, so much inspiration on this site and around the web. I would appreciate some advice from you! Thanks! - Milan :-) 1
Cassel Posted April 10, 2019 Author Posted April 10, 2019 @Milan, what is your current challenge? Is it organizing? the scanning? the planning? the scrapbooking itself? 1
Cristina Posted April 10, 2019 Posted April 10, 2019 Teri, thank you for your kind comment on my layout. <3.... Like Annie, I think you are very creative and you have shown us that here and on FB. I too get inspired by seeing somebody else's layout. It can be the colors, position of a photo, a pattern and so on. Your layout is lovely! Well done! Dear Annie and Dawn, thank you so much for the lovely comments. You both are always very kind. <3 <3 Michele, lol lol :D 1
Sharon Wilke Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 Hello everyone! I finally heard from tech support and they suggested that I should reset my workspace. So I had to go through all the tweaks and adjustments I made again. I needed the practice anyway. I'm still struggling with the materials palette. If I get color on anything it's a fortunate accident on my part. I did have a go at the string art tutorial. That was an excellent lesson. I had no idea I could do that. I'm definitely going to look at that again. I absolutely love the boat scene that Carol did. That was AMAZING! 1
Cristina Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Milan Ch, I haven't worked in a similar project like yours. Maybe other members here can give their input on that. Would be nice to see your work here. Sharon, this was really a great class. I have to practice it much more to make something interesting. 1
Cristina Posted April 15, 2019 Posted April 15, 2019 Here is the layout I made to practice the tutorials from the Lab 9 Module 04: Quatrefoil2 Pattern, Triangular Edge and Yardstick. I also used the template that was part of this module. From Cassel: freebie Laser cut doily-Round04 (Laser cut doilies round Script). I made the two flowers elements following a tutorial (Creative Scrap>Miscellaneous>Flower2). I used cass-date stamp #05 Script. Freebies: Day Dreams 'n Design May Blog Train - Background and Mat papers --- Harper Finch Happy Days & Sweet Spring - papers (title and flowers) and buttons. Now I will try to make something for the Word Challenge (Start) and for the Diamond Scrap Challenge. 1
AprilDawn Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 hello Cristina .... your page is lovely... you achieved great results from the tutorials... love your colour theme and the way you have done the title looks terrific. best of wishes are sent your way, Dawn. 1
Cristina Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Hi Dawn! Thank you so much for your words of encouragement. I worked for several days on this layout, trying different elements, papers, etc... Very often I looked at the tutorials that are available on the Creative Scrap section and then decide which one I am going to add to my page... It is always fun. :) Best wishes to you <3 1
Teri Cleaveland Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Two does gave birth this week. Still have two to go. Herd is up to 10 at the moment. Two 4 year olds, two 2 year olds, two yearlings and 4 newborns. I sell the babies and it pays for the hay. 1
Helen Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 I decided to try taking my hubby out of the picture. it was fun to do. Takes patience that is for sure. 1
Dennis Davis Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 Helen - What extraction tool did you use? Presently, I found the Object Extractor tool works pretty well for a smooth outline such as this. The PSP User Guide has good instructions on how to use this tool. The Erase tool used in conjunction with the Object Extractor tool gives good results with a fairly smooth outline./ 1
Cassel Posted April 26, 2019 Author Posted April 26, 2019 I personally tend to prefer this technique: https://scrapbookcampus.com/2018/08/a-simple-way-to-extract-elements/ But it is obviously a personal preference. 1
Dennis Davis Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 For intricate outlines, the Edit Selection tool is best. I use it for birds, leaves, flowers, etc. For smooth outlines, I find the Object Extractor is good and Flood Fill is great to color in the interior. It gets it all without having to edit the small misses. As you demonstrated in the Basic Extraction webinar with the apple, flood filling the transparency part with white, makes using the Eraser tool easy to use to remove the unwanted parts of the extraction. 1
Sharon Wilke Posted April 30, 2019 Posted April 30, 2019 I've been really busy going through the tutorials and learning how to create some the elements that I see in other talented creators scrapbook pages. I'm slowly getting the hang of all of it. April has run out on me so I did a compilation of most of the tutorials I worked on in April (I still have a few hours left). I also found some coloring pages that I worked on over the weekend. That really a big help actually. I learned a little more about layers, selections and paintbrushes. It was definitely a challenge! 1
