Cassel Posted September 1, 2018 Posted September 1, 2018 In September, it is time to talk about our grandparents. We might not have as many photos of them as we have of our kids, especially if they are not around anymore, but that is ok; you don't have to have a ton of photos. A single photo of your grandparents is enough to create a nice page to honor them, or to tell some fun stories about them. Do you have a page about your grandparents? You can show it below. If not, can you make one? Looking forward to a little trip down memory lane.
Annie Tobin Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 Hi Scrapbook Campus. Photos I had of my maternal and paternal grandparents were lost in a flood but I shall work around that. I used the Scrapbook Lady Souvenir Template and made a couple of changes. The pic was a freebie from Pixabay. The papers were created by myself following tutorials from Cassel. The alpha I made using Cassel's squiggles script. Thanks for takin a peek.
AprilDawn Posted September 3, 2018 Posted September 3, 2018 great page Annie .. very creative idea to use the pic you found on pixabay to go with your story ... love the whole page! best wishes, Dawn.
Cristina Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Annie, what a great layout. I love everything and especially the journaling. Lovely work <3
DeLoris Musick Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I don't talk about my paternal grandparents, but my maternal grandparents walked on water as far as I was concerned. My grandmother "Granny Mayo" would take us fishing (she would tear her house dresses up and sew us play clothes) and bring her rifle. She would shoot birds from flight and tear them apart with her bare hands to bait our cane pole hooks. We would help her run clothes through her wringer washer and break up green beans. Our "Granddaddy Mayo" would take us across an old wooden swinging bring in his pickup truck (we were in the back) and the boards on the bridge would split and fly up in the air. We would help him hoe corn and never thought we were working. We were from Norfolk, Va (just dumb city kids) and they were in Eastern Kentucky (Floyd County). Sooo many wonderful memories of summer vacations as a child. My brother called drawing water from the well, getting home made water. They had running water, but used the well for drinking water. The only picture I had of their home (my grandfather built it himself) was sooo damaged, I gave it a painted effect. It was on top of a hill. It had a smokehouse on the left and a root cellar below that. Their chicken coop was at the back of the house as was the barn. The barn was at the bottom of the hill so was the well. That tree had a swing in it in the summer when I was a child where I would help my Granny break green beans. Where all the brown grass is was all corn fields in the Summer! Great memories! She was Virgie and he was LeGrand. His mother was a Blackfoot Indian. They are both buried at Jinny Wiley State Park, Ky in a track of land the state did not want and it was left a cemetery when the state built the dam/park. Hugs, DeLoris
Patricia Rastetter Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I made my fifteen year old Granddaughter an Album and gave it to her for Christmas in 2017. the photos are taken when we were having a Play Day with her at the age of five. I titled it "The Dancing Chefs" and I used a purchased kit, Dance With Me by JoCee Designs.
DeLoris Musick Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I have these 2 pages in my Siblings book. It is about my grandparents in Kentucky. I'm loving seeing the pages here and the stories about them! Hugs to all, DeLoris
Patricia Rastetter Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Wrong, I titled the album "The Dancing Chefs". I have posted the first eleven pages here but just realized maybe I am not permitted to post so many photos here so I will stop now because I have eight more pages in the album. Forgive me if I am posting to many!
Patricia Rastetter Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 Well it is late at night here LOL so I incorrectly stated the name of my granddaughter's album again. It is actually titled "The Musical Chefs", yeah I got it correct this time! Well off to bed I go.
Patricia Rastetter Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 DeLoris I love how you did your layout and I love your Story, thank you for sharing!
