Cassel Posted July 14, 2018 Posted July 14, 2018 https://scrapbookcampus.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/WordChallenge.jpg Here is the next Word challenge for you. In June the word will be HOT. Since it is summer in the northern hemisphere, it might be hot enough to have some pictures. Or if you have some winter pictures, you might like to sit beside a hot fireplace sipping a hot chocolate. Whatever the season, you can surely find something hot (maybe even a boyfriend?). Are you up to the challenge? Post your projects in this thread (it can be older projects you did or recent ones; it does not matter) or, if you want, our PSP Scrapbook Showcase pinboard on Pinterest is always there to showcase what is being shared in the Campus (if you need an invite, let me know). Or you can post it in our Facebook group.
Annie Tobin Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Hi. I hope you agree that this represents "hot". Australia is noted for summer bushfires especially if spring has not provided us with enough rainfall. Thanks for takin a peek!
Annie Tobin Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 Thanks Cristina, much appreciated my friend. I have a lot of Kate Pertiet's overlays and I used a couple for this one. The layout is very similar to one of Kate's templates but toned down considerably for my purposes. <3
Annie Tobin Posted July 16, 2018 Posted July 16, 2018 It has just occurred to me that I did not use the word HOT anywhere on my page. I'm not sure if the actual word should be used or if it is adequate to have a page that represents the word. Apologies in advance if I have erred! <3
Cassel Posted July 16, 2018 Author Posted July 16, 2018 No worry Annie, this challenge is to trigger inspiration, so whether the word is in the title, in the journaling, or even in the theme, it is ok. We don't have right or wrong, just inspiring projects.
AprilDawn Posted July 17, 2018 Posted July 17, 2018 Annie your page represents the word "Hot" very well. and it is a lovely page!. best wishes, Dawn.
Michele Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Annie, there is no doubt that you were inspired by the word HOT! Great job. ~ Michele
Annie Tobin Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Thanks Michele … although bushfires can be very destructive they can also be very beautiful, so glad you liked my friend.
Annie Tobin Posted July 18, 2018 Posted July 18, 2018 Thanks Dawn, always appreciate your comments my friend. <3
Annie Tobin Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Hi All. This is another for the word challenge. I used Cassel's layout Q template and followed the instructions for the cutout alpha but I couldn't stand to lose the little bits so I put a sandy backing behind to fit in with the overall page and I was able to keep the bits! Love your templates Cassel, thank you.
Cristina Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Hi, Annie...This is a very nice layout, and I love the cutout alpha.
Annie Tobin Posted July 19, 2018 Posted July 19, 2018 Hi Cristina and thank you! The layout was one by Cassel which came with the A-Z Inspiration resource. I love the layouts, simple and effective......my style, LOL!
AprilDawn Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Hi Annie, another very nice page for this word challenge... I read your journaling and did not realise that Home and Away is filmed at Palm Beach. We used to watch the show ages ago and wonder which beach they were at. … so thanks for the info. best wishes, Dawn.
Michele Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 How do you make a l/o of brush fires look so sweet? The alpha is wonderful. I really need to make more time to spend learning on the campus. I've been busy trying to clean out my files. It's a Herculean task and feels like it's going to take me years! lol ~ Michele
Cristina Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 This is my layout for this challenge. The photos are small but I used the ones I got via WhatsApp and didn't want to wait until I get the originals. I enlarged but ... :) The polka dots papers are freebies from "lovingtocu". I made the yellow background paper with a solid color and then added an overlay (Freebie messy hearts overlay) from "HG Designs" and lowered the opacity. The photo frame is a freebie from "CoffeeShop Frames Template". From Cassel, I used the Puffy Paint Script for the title (Middle Class Script Font), the Summer Punches brushes and the Adhesive Tape Script. The black and white photo I made following Corel's Adding Drama with Selective Color tutorial ( ). I also used Romantic Font.
Michele Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Great job, Cristina! The pics are wonderful. ~ Michele
Annie Tobin Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Wow Cristina, wonderful result for this one … love the photos, well done! <3
Annie Tobin Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Hi Scrapbook Campus. I just finished watching, and hopefully learned something from, Cassel's Master Class - Patchwork Scrapbooking. It was a terrific lesson and a lot to take in. I'll be watching it a few more times for sure, :) This has been created from that lesson for the "hot" word challenge. Thanks for takin a peek!
Cristina Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Annie, thank you so much! <3... Cassel's tutorials are amazing, sometimes we might think we know the subject but then she comes and show us new tricks, techniques... I love it.
Annie Tobin Posted July 22, 2018 Posted July 22, 2018 Thanks Michele! Off now to do some more lessons, :) <3
