In May, our monthly theme is PICNIC.

 

Let’s play our monthly alphabet game.

 

Let’s find various articles, food or places that we can associate with a picnic

A = Ants, which is what I seem to have most of at a picnic.

Did my ants scare away the picnic guests?

 

How about something tasty to eat.

 

B = bread

C = Cloth (we have to sit on something!)

D = Deck chairs, something more comfortable to sit in and get up from for us oldies.

e = easy edibles such as eggs

F ~ Frankfurters

Sometimes you have a Grill. We always offer thanks, say Grace.

J = Juices, all flavours with ice in them to make them lovely and cold.

L= is for Lettuce to go in the salads and on other foods

melons...watermelon, cantaloupe, etc.

P = pepper (and salt) for a bit of seasoning

S - Sandwiches and 'skeeters!

T = Tupperware. Picnics would not be the same without good old Tupperware to keep your sarnies in good shape.

U - umbrella, to keep us cool in the shade

V = Vegemite, a must on the picnic table here in Australia! The kids would feel deprived if we didn't have it, :)

W = watermelon...cool and refreshing on a warm summer day; or, failing that, have some

 

w= water and keep hydrated

I even cheated and Googled picnic words beginning with X. There seem to be none unless you use words from languages other than English.

 

How about eXtra mayonnaise?
