Cassel Posted July 21, 2017 Posted July 21, 2017 https://scrapbookcampus.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/04/Tut-Tech-Challenge.jpg The Campus is the perfect place to learn more about photo editing, various techniques, or PSP in general. This challenge will give you an opportunity to practice some of those techniques or use some tools. This month's Tut/Tech Challenge is the Colorized Wordart. This technique is fairly simple, and once you know how to colorize one wordart, you will want to customize all those you find so they can be a perfect match to your project. You can read the tutorial HERE. What will you create? Show us below. We want to be inspired.
AprilDawn Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Hello Everyone! here is my contribution to this Wordart challenge. as this was just for the technique I have kept the main page rather simple in layout. on the other page I am just showing 2 other wordart ideas that I created. On the WELCOME I painted a pattern onto the font and added some brushes and a rose tube and merged all together. ON the 2nd "have a great day" I used a daisy tube that is in PSP and spherized it and painted the font and again merged together. The other "have a great day" the font was done the same as the other one and I just added some swirl brushes and my butterflies and merged together. This technique is simple but fun to do. Have just noticed that the bottom swirl on the "have a great day page" is facing down when it should be up.....hopefully you will still get the idea . (need another pair of new glasses I think). Dawn.
Cristina Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Dawn, beautiful pages! So many details and techniques... Great work!
AprilDawn Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Cristina, thank you for your kind comments (even though I managed to get one of the brush swirls the wrong way around) I appreciate it. I also forgot to mention that the Blossom sprigs are a purchased digital stamp. and the other sentiment font is a free one called MC Blossom. Dawn.
Marlene Lingham Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Dawn your pages are lovely, the colours are very pretty together. I have done a page that I might use as an Anniversary card one day. I used the technique of locking the layer, selecting the text and painting over it, it was so easy! I'm not sure where the wordart or the elements came from, I inherited a lot of items that had no maker's names on them, so I apologise for not acknowledging the source.
AprilDawn Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Hello Marlene, a lovely page and beautiful Wordart and sentiment ... your page would make a wonderful Anniversary card. thank you for you kind remarks on my project. Dawn.
AprilDawn Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 I decided to keep playing with this technique and created this one to put on a card. I have used a Free Rose Scroll frame from Graphic Fairy that I have had in my collection for ages... I modified the image to get the effect I wanted and then mirrored it to look like a heart shape.... the sentiment is from a purchased digital stamp set. ... have used a tube from within PSP for the bottom flower. I painted the sentiment with the technique and then added a bevel to it... also used the airbrush to colour some of the flowers on the frame while leaving the rest black. I am enjoying this idea.. will probably do more up for my card making. Dawn.
Marlene Lingham Posted July 27, 2017 Posted July 27, 2017 Dawn I love what you have done, as you said it will be a lovely card. I have some digital stamps but hadn't thought about using them in this way, generally leave them the colour they are (not all of them are black) but this is a great idea, I will have to try it. Isn't it wonderful how we can pick up little tips and tricks this way!
Anja Pelzer Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 I used different blendmodus for the black wordarts, I used a kit by Dawn Inskip - I am different and Addon Photo is showing my son, he is very slow in learning all things and autoaggressive,
Anja Pelzer Posted July 28, 2017 Posted July 28, 2017 you all have done a great work with all the wordarts and layouts
AprilDawn Posted July 29, 2017 Posted July 29, 2017 Hello Anja, a very nice and thoughtful page....I especially like the bottom comment... "Not every problem is visible" how true is that! Dawn.
Cristina Posted August 1, 2017 Posted August 1, 2017 Dawn, another nice way to show word art. Like Marlene said, it is nice to learn little tips and tricks with each other. Anja, what a beautiful and thoughtful page you created. We can feel all the sentiment involved. Great work. I have been away for a couple of days, so I am behind with the challenges... I will try to catch up with them as soon as possible.
Cristina Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Here is my take on this challenge. I used cass-Embossed script for the blue and yellow paper, cass-LaserCutDoilies Round freebies, and cass-RibbonFactory script. I added Corel SummerClipart freebie and PSP Buttons Picture Tubes. I tried the Sand Effect for the title following the tutorial that was given in the Travel Tale Challenge. I was not sure with the settings, but I liked the effect. For the colorized Word Art I used three fonts: Plump, GrilledCheese BTN, and Wednesday. The last one I got to know through the last LAB module 7-07. I was tweaking and tweaking with no end in sight... so I decided to stop, post the page and move on to another challenge. :)
AprilDawn Posted August 3, 2017 Posted August 3, 2017 Hello Cristina, a lovely page, .... the photos of the little girl say that she was enjoying her time at the beach. I like the way you included embossing on your papers it gives a nice effect... another great memory page for the album. Dawn.
Cristina Posted August 4, 2017 Posted August 4, 2017 Hi, Dawn, thanks for commenting on my page! To tell you the truth I am not 100% satisfied with the result... it doesn't feel right and I will do many changes later. But for now, that's what I have... :)
