For Day 11, Project 5, I used a kit I made in December, 2015. When my daughter, Becky, and I saw this tree on clearance at Bronner’s, in Frankenmuth, we really thought Sarah and Joel would think we had lost our minds. They wanted a new tree but could not get their heads together on just what. Joel wanted tinsel, for his retro mood, Sarah thought she wanted white, but if we saw a green one for their space, that was okay too. We found an ombre tree – tinsel, white . . . and, BLACK. Tongue-in-cheek we texted the photos – and they both fell in love with it – more so because it is actually, white, gray and black . . . the colors of their favorite basketball team – the San Antonio Spurs! Bronners shipped it out to them and when we got home two days later, it was already up and decorated. Five years later, it is still their favorite tree and really looks great!

I really liked that eraser edge tip, Carole! I can see lots of potential with that for great photo edges!!!
I have really been enjoying all the diversity shown in the layouts here at Boot Camp – thank you so much, Carole, for making this opportunity for us. I have recommended it to several friends, who like me, have been on outdated programs for years and need to get up-to-date.
Here’s my project 4. With the exception of the photos and photo elements (all my own photos), the papers were created for this challenge, using the photos as a base. The stone background photo paper is a photo I took from the side of the church. Because of the topic, I opted against using different colors in my title, but I am comfortable with doing so, as Carole knows. I added noise to the background instead of a separate scatter, and included some of the beautiful stained-glass windows as elements. I did add a contrast white shadow to my text as I could not find a good color to use due to the color variations in the stone.
My computer or PSP 2021 decided to give me grief the past couple of days – I thought I would have to go to 2018 to finish Project 3, but finally thwarted it. I used an old kit of mine with a camping theme as I worked with these 4 beautiful people at Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in New York’s Catskill Mountains. Jean was my mentor when I first started working there in 2018, and her husband, Ron, managed the outside, seasonal employees. They retired in 2012, just before the park was sold to a huge corporation. The new owners prefer to hire college students through the J-1 Visa Program – an international exchange program, where the students pay their own way to work at various locations, in different capacities. Our park is a RV resort – hence the camping there.
riverside Creamery is a great place to take friends. I took our Chinese students, Katina and Sabrina there for a treat on a day off we had together, and they were generally enthralled. No plasticware there – all old-fashioned glassware and metal silverware. They had only seen such a place in old movies. I suggested they try different things to sample each other’s, which they did. Katina’s only remorse was that her grandmother would never be able to enjoy such an experience and the best ice cream they had ever tasted.
I took the photos, and rearranged the LO a bit. I also used Carole’s old-chain tube to hang my sign. I used the fonts, Two Cent MT, Sweets Delight and Black Tea.

Pat, always save your original, with a the layers (including the vector copy of any text), in PSP. What I usually do is hide anything Vector, then merge a visible. I copy the merged layer and save it as a NEW IMAGE. Then I return to the original> Edit>Unmerge Layers, and resave, full size, as PSP, accept the changes and close it. Everything is there for me to play with if I choose. On the new Image, go to Image>Resize to (600×600 pixels, if square)>Save as JPEG, and note the size. Now you can upload that copy to forums, FB or any social media.
Carole gives us great critiques. If you see something you want to change on your own, or address a suggestion she makes, you can return to your original PSP version, which still has a the layers.
I’m not sure – but if Carole’s tip today pans out, I am going to see if ControlD will copy a the layers. If so, you can simply hide your vectors, Merge all visible, then resize and save as JPEG a bit quicker!

For some reason, I was unable to get in here earlier. Here is my Day 5, Project 2 layout. The green, embossed background paper was created by me for one of the bonus challenges I host on another site. The other two papers, wreath, birdhouse and fence elements are from a kit I made a few years ago named Country Roads The photo elements were extracted from my own photos. I am a full-time RVer, and this is my home on wheels. The title font is Beauty School Dropout. Thank you for more invaluable pointers today, Carole. This boot camp is really going to help me

For my Day 3, Project I, I returned to the Gulf of Mexico, on Florida’s western shore, where I often went during the colder winter months. I dusted off an old kit I made a few years ago, called Caladesi Island Adventure. this was an area my brother, Charles and I often went for photo shoots. I happened to have two scatters in that kit – one, floral and the other shells. I used Carole’s free basic ric rac script to alter the trim slightly. I took the photo one evening at New Port Richie, arriving just as fishing boats were heading back to sea at sunset . . . this fellow turned on his lights as he passed the city limits, and entered the Gulf waters
It’s Day 2 of Bootcamp – and I have already learned two new things – yippee!!!!! I am going to follow the lessons, verbatim, even though I was itching to place a background and add some shading and detail . . . I did make my plate more oval . . . and just realized what else I could have done, while staying in the perameters of this lesson . . .now to fix a cup of coffee and enjoy my sandwich.

Most people know me as TravlynWomyn as I am a full-time, traveling RVer. I joined the Scrapbook Campus several years ago, but like has a way of happening, and I never really got started, or even working properly with PSP until about two years ago. I’ve been a digital scrapbook kit designer for several years, but started out a bit ragged, on a different program, until a friend recommended Carole’s Stray Pixel Finder Script, and I’ve been a loyal advocate of her scripts and tubes ever since.
So, why am I here, now? I have not upgraded since version 2018 . . . when I downloaded version 2021, I was at a total loss. I’m a great-grandmother, but always up to learning new things. Life has slowed down my travels quite dramatically, which means it’s time to take advantage and really get to know what this program is all about.
Here I am, in Bootcamp, November 2020 . . . Michigan is going back into another Corona lockdown . . . and it’s my chance to start figuring this program out more efficiently . . . so here I am . . . and trust me . . . I’m much more raw than you can imagine. I did take another course – and that really got me started in realizing how I can work with my photos – and I am an avid photographer.
For Day 1 – and courtesy of a large monitor, I have set my Workspace to large icons, large text and large node (my trifocals and those nodes are not mutually compatible . . . I can never see where they are hiding). I chose the lighter gray for both, and, as of right now have the Materials, Layers and Tool options checked. I have not downloaded any photos yet as I am not sure in what direction I want to go with them.
