Don’t panic Sharon, some of us was sent the wrong email by mistake. Might be because we did the challenge last year. If you have registered you’ll get an email very soon. In fact imminent I’d say depending on where you live. The Challenge doesn’t start until the 26th. Thank you for you for your very kind comment.
Sue
Day 1 of the Double take challenge. I usually post on facebook. Day one of the Double take challenge. I must confess I did this same challenge last year, but I used photos of insects. This year I’m going with birds. The word bird, which has head and eyes of birds in each letter, was from no kit 2, masterclass, a technique I use a great deal. Each bird photo is on a flash card, so that I don’t forget what little birds they are.(very unlikely 🙂 )
The fledged bird at the very top is a juvenile house sparrow.Lovely layout Annie, good use of the old book alphabet.
I have registered too. I’m looking forward to taking part. Is it the same double take challenge we did last year Carole? I used some macro shots of insects last time, including the 4 stages of the life cycle of the ladybird. I have already chosen photos for this challenge. Birds of Sask 2018.
<p style=”text-align: left;”>Beautiful Dawn! I bought the flower punches too. They are quite exquisite.</p>
I was working on the Collard Dove project when the ‘Painting on the wall’ appeared on the blog. Cassel’s corner punches are one of my many favourites to use in projects. I created the background paper, using the masked doves I made. I created a seamless tile from it and flood filled the paper. Using two other light colours from the photo, placing those layers above the tiled paper, played with their opacity, dropping them to about 20%. Texture. Used the stitched 2 tutorial on the text.
Thank you Carole. The gardens are photos I’ve taken in the past week in the local village, not far from where I was raised. The flower collage, are flowers I’ve taken in the past week too, I used the template I created from the no kt 3 masterclass. I’ve done insects, animals and now Roses. Really enjoyed the challenged, I don’t know what I was expecting, but to focus on masks was a good choice on your part. Thank you all the time and effort that went into the challenge.
I used the template from day 6, to create the page for day 7.
One day left of the challenge, like all good things, it has to come to an end. I’ve enjoyed taking part, and thoroughly enjoyed looking at eveyones projects. We’ll done all. As always I have learnt something new. Thank you Carole.
Day 6. I thoroughly enjoyed today’s challenge, mainly because I did learn something new. Thank you Carole!
Day 5. I use the template I made from no kit 3 master class, a great deal, it’s a wonderful way of showcasing anything. With so many variations. Here I used some photos of roses which I took the other day.
Day 3.
That is ever so thoughtful of you Elaine. Using the magazine layout, you are focusing more on the photos, with little text, which is perfect. As the children grow up, they will appreciate what you have created for them.
Day two. Although I was raised on a farm in the same parish, I spent many hours in the village as child playing with friends. Enjoying all the magazines, I think we should all get together and produce our own digital magazine, of our adventures, lifestyles, and lots more using PSP.
Here’s my day 1. The blue border, which I darkened ever so slightly, was almost a perfect match to the door.
I’ve also registered and looking forward to the new challenge.
Thank you Libera, and Cristina. It does take patience, and countless shots to get the desired one.
Best wishes to all
Sue
Thank you Libera, that’s very kind of you. I hope you’ll be able follow the instructions ok.
April, thank you for you for you kind comment, I’m pleased you like it.
Best regards
Sue. x
I downloaded the bear, and then the bows. What can I do with the bow I thought, and then I created this using a photo I took yesterday. For the background paper I used the photo, seamless tiling, blur, and flood filled, used two colours from the photo, placed those layers above the photo and reduced the opacity, used the kaleidoscope. Created a frame, 3 borders, using an inner bevel, flood filled the centre border with the polka dot which I created myself, patterns, changed the angle and size, and flood filled. For the side borders, I used the selection tool, selected a section of the frame, and promoted to another layer, duplicate. For the bows, I duplicated the first one, image, mirror horizontal, merge down, duplicate, image, mirror vertical, merge down. Drop shadow. Doing it that way, every bow is placed exactly where it should be and so is the shadowing. For the inner frame, I used the selection tool, flood filled with the silver patters, contract by 10 pixels, delete, effects, 3D effects, chisel, I used transparent, chose a white colour, size 6. I do enjoy looking at everyone’s creations, there’s so much talent and imagination. Great work.
Libera. It appears that you have mastered the adjustment layer, brightness/contrast. I love what you have done, also like what you did with the puzzles.
It’s morning somewhere! Took some photos of a male and female sparrow this morning, and created this, this evening. For the background paper, I selected an area from one of the photos, seamless tiling, and flood filled. Used a mask which I made some time ago. The female sparrow is the same bird different posture, matched the fence to make it look like two birds on a fence. For the text I used the lock tool to change the colours, after changing the text from a vector to a raster.
Lovely work Raymond. I’ve been to Cypress, many, many years ago.
Thank you Cristina, it really was a great class. Here’s my last technique.
Here’s my take on the first exercise that Carole did in yesterday’s presentation. I’m going to enjoy showcasing my photos this way. I did edit this photo, I used Topaz detail plugin.
Working my way through the presentation, cut the scissors. This time slats. Once you know how, it’s not that difficult to do. So many of my questions being answered. As I often wonder how does the script to that, now I know. I also leant several new techniques, using the shift and alt keys. This presentation has to go to the top of my list of favourite master classes. Thank your Carole, you are awesome!
I was present at the presentation this afternoon, and as I previously said, I have the shattered glass, and slats script. Now I know how to do them manually, excellent presentation!
Mireille I agree, I am not a fussy frilly sort of person, I’m very much a minimalist when it come to my projects. Thank you for your kind comment.

Thank you for the lovely comments on the very simple but effective layout on the flower ecard. Many of you will know that I’m not one for making a busy layout. Libera the adjustment layers are very easy to use, and even after you have completed the project you can go back and change those layers in the psp file, as long you don’t merge them down. Firstly locate the adjustment layer tool. I can be found at the very bottom of the layers pallet, the second icon from the left, hover your mouse over the icons and it and it will tell you what each tool is. Now to begin, using the selection tool, select all. With the main photo selected, click on the adjustment layer, and select brightness and contrast, adjust the brightness, to your liking, and click ok. Now contact the selection to your liking, and hit the delete key, while the adjustment layer is selected. Now go back to the main photo, and contract the selection again, select adjustment layer, brightness and contrast, and click ok. Contract again, and hit the delete key. Go back to the main photo, and repeat. You can also start from the inside, and expand, or use circles, or any shape in the selection tool box. I save then as a psp images, leaving the layers in tact. For the outside border, I selected all, contract, invert, and use a small inner bevel, to emphasise a small frame, neat frame. I hope you are able to follow these instruction. Myself and I’m sure others would like to see one of your adjustment layer projects.
Thank you Cristina, you know only to well, how I like frames. 🙂
