November bingo challenge. Brick pattern, tied string, outlined text, obvious gold, and punched effect. The photo of the old dwelling is my own, I added png elements from Tatty. Globe. Font, Santa, which I used effects, texture, sculpture, coloured his hat red. Background papers, I used the torn paper technique.
I’m sorry to hear of your loss Annie!
Yesterday’s Christmas 4 Masterclass was awesome.
What a delightful card you made Helen. May I suggest that you use a small inner bevel on the tree trunk, to round it slightly. I was out the other day taking photos, seeing as the weather was pleasantly mild. Here is a macro shot of a tiny wild native Prairie Aster. Most of its seeds have been blown away by the wind. I framed it last night, and gave it a title. I added a pattern, and a texture in this frame. Which was easy to do. Flood fill the border with the colour of your choice, on a new layer flood fill with the pattern, reduce the opacity of the pattern to about 45-50. A greyish pattern works best. 1920’s pattern comes with PSP 2018 and 19. Merge the two layers visible. Inner bevel. To use a texture in a frame, add borders, flood fill with the chosen background colour, magic wand select border, select the foreground colour, which should be lighter in colour and TEXURE selected from the material palette and flood fill. Inner bevel.
Awesome job Annie. Love the colour scheme!
Trish go tot he home forum page, click on the work showroom, on the left side of the page, it open a list of pages, there’s you’ll what are you working on in Nov. Click on that.
Ken, The GRFX studio, isn’t free with 2019 ultimate. It’s free with 2020 Ultimate. But it’s not the full version. In 2020, it’s in the get more page to download.
Thank you Cristina, you are always so complimentary, and I really do appreciate it. How close can get to the subjects I shoot, depends a lot on the creature. Antelope are very inquisitive, and as long I don’t make any sudden movements they will come very close, to check me out. Some birds are very skittish, while others will accept my presence to a point. I don’t push my luck though. My camera doesn’t support close up lens attachments. It does have a 25- 600mm, F2.8 built in zoom lens. From 25mm to a super telephoto reach of 600mm. It’s a Panasonic Lumic FZ300. I’m a fan of Panasonic cameras, and have always bought Panasonic bridge cameras. I upgraded from the FZ200 to the FZ300.
Thank you Cristina! There are over a dozen text tutorials, that not counting the tile text, cutout text to mention a few. I haven’t counted them all, but there must be over 20 tutorials relating to Text.
Thank you!! I know Cristina, it’s mind boggling sometimes. I wish I had an eidetic memory. Thank you too Michele, I too like happy accidents. I write them down in a note book, so I don’t forget. 🙂
I looked at the photo, immediately the colour of the background paper jumped out at me. I’d been thinking what I could do with my male Warbler photo. This is what I came up with. Experimenting with colours, and purely by accident I clicked on geometric, perspective in the effects section. So played a bit with the perspective vertical. I had already created the circle frame using the geometric circle. As I’ve used it before. For the inner bevel I used a large wide size. I discovered something new, inspired by the colour of your background paper Carole.
Very nice Trish.
That’s lovely Helen, well done.
The masked Chickadee started out as a Birthday card for a bird watching friend. I’ve put that on hold for now and decided to take part in the November Scavenger Hunt. I didn’t use any scripts, it’s all my own work. I even took the photos of these delightful Chickadees out in our trees. They are a bright spark of life bleak Canadian winter days. They visit bird feeders, and will come to the hand to feed on sunflower seeds.
Thank you Annie, as always you give positive, encouraging comments, which are always appreciated.
I’m cracking on with Christmas cards, in between I’ve started some of next year’s birthday cards, seeing as the weather is snowy and cold. Having fun with some of Carole’s text tutorials.
Thank you very much Michelle. Those pages are fabulous, and can be used over and over again. I’m going to have to give it a try, see what I can come up with using seasonal colours. We really don’t use the tools in the effects section any where enough. xx
Going through some pics for seasonal tags. I used a font for the silver frame. Fonts are so versatile, and can be used for so much more than text. Filled with a silver pattern, sculpture, drop shadow. Add borders. Kaleidoscope for the outer frame. For more detailed instructions let me know. It may look complicated, but it’s really quite simple, and the end result gives that wow factor.
Thank you ladies for your kind comments. Gwen, welcome! You did a great job, and look forward to seeing more of your work. This is a wonderful site to learn and have fun. My attention has been drawn to the festive season, and card making. They still need some tweaking. The framed project is a trial page, and I’ve been trying to write Merry Christmas in the snow, but I’m not happy with the results. Any suggestions on how I can make it look more realistic? Text, selection tool, cut out tool and shadowing. The fantasy card, I used textures, sculpture on the text. The lace is a brush. The clipart I found online, masks, ellipse tool, texture. I also found the 12 days of Xmas online, and Santa from millions of png images.com
At the moment I’m in a frame making, frame of mind! Pardon the pun. I took a look at the latest lab tutorials last night. Thought I’d try them out. It’s hardly a proper scrapbook page, but then anything goes in scrapbooking. This is a male American Goldfinch, I shot the other day. Most unusual to still see the odd one so late in the year. I hope he makes his migratory journey from Canada, through America to Mexico safely. Stitch line style, wood fence and kidnap alfa. It’s not on the road theme, well not exactly, but on the wing.
Thank you all for your very kind comments on my photography, and pages, it’s always encouraging and very much appreciated. Each time I come onto the form, it’s a real joy to see the work being created. They give me ideas, and it’s like taking an educational trip a round the world. Well done to one and all. Trish, I didn’t edit the photo, it was already frosted. Again thank you, and happy psping.
Thank you ever so much Annie. You produce some fabulous work, and so varied. A quick and easy frame using the chisel tool, found in effects, 3D effects.
Some time ago, I was introduced to the web site creative fabrica. After looking at the craft section, and all the quotes and sayings, beautifully laid out. I’ve become addicted to creating my own, to showcase some of my photos and pages, using the character map tool, text on a curve, and other tools in PSP.
Yesterday I shot pics of one my resident coyotes. One of many of this year’s litters. I felt privileged that he allowed me to shoot while he went about searching for his breakfast. If you would like to know how I created the frame, or anything else, ask, and I’ll do my best to give instructions that will be easy to follow.
I love my pets, and a big animal lover, I also love nature and the countryside. An animal’s eyes have the power to speak a great language.
Every time I check out the form, I’m always amazed at the talent. Dawn, your card is absolutely stunning! I didn’t have to see who created it, you have a distinctive style. As do I so I’ve been told. haha.
I made two completely different pages last night, one for my baby granddaughter, who has a virus, which is doing the rounds, and the other one using quite a few tools. The background paper took the longest to do, using the masked photo of the chipmunk, seamless tiling, motion blur, radial blur and gaussian blur, texture. Again Carol’s corner punches came in handy again.
Sublime. (adjective)
Great work Annie.
Beautiful work on the recipe cards Cristina. Each time you bake something create a card, that will give you incentive to complete the set. I watched the replay of the Corel webinar on Scrapbooking by Carole. If you are a newbie to PSP its well worth a watch. My interpretation of some of techniques used. Layered flower from the lab , flair button from the creative scrap. Rain drops are picture tubes which come with PSP. Background paper with a little grunge, texture and I used the screen blend mode after I used a mask on the main photo, duplicated it, mirror horizontal. Preset shape. Lace by Cassel (mitred corner script), Cassel corner punch.
Thank you Cristina for the lovely comment on my bingo challenge papers. I have to endorse your comment on the fabulous work being created on this site.
Oh Michele, there are times when you crack me up!!!! Thank you for your lovely comment. I’m smiling to myself here, I can just see you searching for elements, on the horizontal and vertical that weren’t there, you were probably thinking to yourself that I was as mad as a hatter. Just as well we can laugh at ourselves. Have a good day! x
Thank you very much Dawn, thses pages were fun to do and came together quite easily. The photos lead the way.
Painted lady butterfly. In this project I used the elements on the left , horizontal. Polkadots, word sticker, nylon strap, postage stamp, and string. I could have used two scripts, but I opted to created everything myself from scratch. All good practice, and a refresher, so I don’t forget.
I used the far right vertical line. The elements used, and created from scratch are: Polaroid frame, staple, plaid pattern, organza ribbon, and ghost text. I didn’t use a shadow on the ribbons, or the organza circles which I created by using the selection tool, and promoted to a new layer, and duplicate them, as the shadow changed the colour to much. I also created the flag.
