I have already created and printed 3 complete different calendars. 4 copies of each. Here are two examples .
As you can see I’ve done this before. I used to use Vista Print, not any more, I get great pleasure in creating my own calendars. I round the edges, or use a corner punch. For the background paper I took colours from the photos, blur, radial blur, twirl, and a few other tools, including opacity. One hint I’d like to give to you, especially newbies, go lighter with your papers, as they will always print darker than what you see on the screen. These are photos my daughter took. This calendar is going to be for her and Tom. They live in Haverfordwest, Wales.
Thank you so much Karon. You are always so kind with your comments. I hope some of my pages inspire you.
So many inspirational pages posted, each and every one beautifully executed. It’s always a pleasure to sit with a cup of tea and scroll through the posts on this site. Thank you Lynda, and Karon for your very kind comments on my pages, it’s very much appreciated, and means a great deal to me.
This was a quick, fun, easy page. I enjoy creating word art, and the split frame is always a fun effect. I slipped a ribbon in between the split frame, in order to do that I had to use the selection tool, another tool I have fun using.
I like the cutout photo effects, it’s easy to create using as mask, which means I can edit it for each photo.
I had visitors yesterday, one was passing through the yard, while others were flying over. I heard the song by the Moody Blues on the radio, which prompted me to create this page. I framed the handsome buck, extracted the cranes, duplicated the 2 middle ones. I thought the lyrics of this song was appropriate for my mood, and the season that we are in. Winters are long and brutally cold, so flying south with the migratory birds is something I often wish I could do.
So many of you have given nothing but wonderful compliments on my pages. I’d like to say thank you very much, it means a great deal to me. Again Thank you!
Carole, I can see your song, talent show, where I saw the people in the question marks.
Beautiful work ladies, and Karon…. I love the vintage look of your layouts.
Always lots of wonderful creations to view when I log in. well done everyone, always a great source of inspiration.
I’ve also participated before, and enjoyed them very much. I have registered. Now to sort out photos to use before hand.
I was sorting through some photos, and came across these two photos, the song you don’t impress me much came to mind. Keeping with the speech bubble theme. The flower is a native wild Prairie rose. I created the label. and the torn paper. I blended two photos together, and framed it. Word frame. I’m afraid that was all I could come up with, for now anyway.
Dance with the one that brought you, comes to mind, I think it was one her first songs in the 90s. Although I’ve never been a fan of country songs.
I caught a glimpse of an ad on the tv the other night which caught my attention. I’m going to watch out for it to see what they were advertising. They had letters with artists performing within a letter. (not colourized though) I tried to replicate it this morning. I used hue/sat/lightness to match the colour of the letter. How can I improve on this Carole. perhaps you have seen the ad on the telly. I thought it was pretty cool! Here’s my interpretation, of course I had to use a bird. 🙂 I didn’t use a bevel or shadow.
I have several projects on the go. I started this one a week or so ago. Once I knew how I wanted to document the photos, I finished it off last night. Lifted paper, tags and pin created using tutorials along with some other tutorials which I don’t have to refer to in the campus any more to achieve some techniques in the creative scrap section of the campus. For the papers I used colours from the photos and added a little noise. I don’t normally use this many photos, I should have used a lot more, but I will do another matching page at a later date.
Here’s another one. It isn’t finished yet, I still have to add a few more elements to it. Like the mice and voles these are rodents too. Mask, torn edges on frame and torn paper. Something else I haven’t done for a while, yet it all looks very rustic, to be in keeping with the chipmunks habitat. I used the superscript and the subscript in the text tool bar to write the 1/2.
I have several projects that I have started, this is one of them. I know some of you will just freak out at the sight of this adorable little creature. They are starting to come into buildings now, so I have put out catch and release traps. I can have up to 5 in each trap. I take them out the other side of the trees, and beyond the horses fence line to release them. The gold frame is a font and a rectangle preset. It has been ages since I used the slip into it technique, which I thought it appropriate for this image, as the little creatures slip into holes in trees, birds nests, and holes in the ground to sleep and keep warm during colder climes.
Karon, thank you ever so much for your complimentary comments. You have been busy too. I do like the sunflower page. You can learn a great deal from doing the tutorials in the lab. Always so many different techniques used, which can be incorporated in creating many other elements.
I don’t have thousands of fonts, in fact I have less than 800 in total. Many of you know that I use fonts a lot in my projects. This one is no different. Speech bubbles, several fonts used, and one of Carole’s edge punches and special font. Her edge punches are very delicate when used to frame a paper. Again, 2 photos taken in different locations of two very beautiful native sparrows, one image.
Put it to one side for now. May I suggest that when you do go back to it, you replace the beach theme with trees etc, make it rural. I’m sure the Oriole would trade the urban life for a rural one. That is what I would do. You are the creator.
Adjustment layers.
Joule. A joule refers to the amount of energy transferred to an object. Light bulbs use joules.
A photo I took the other day, dark eyed Junco Sparrow Feeding on Mountain Ash berries. It was Xmassy. Created a tree decoration, used one of last winter’s photos. A soft frame using the selection tool. Text can be added at a later date.
G: Gleam
E: ELO Electric Light Orchestra. Just for fun, one of my favourite bands. 🙂
F: Flash light. As it’s called in Canada and America. In the UK we call then torches.
D: dazzle, dazzling lights
B: beam of light
I can’t believe it’s the 1st October already, where did the summer go! The geese and cranes are flocking and feeding in stubble fields in their millions. The sight and sounds put one in a state awe! Winter is on it’s way. Cranes in the stubble field, and our autumn trees out back.
Very nice, that’s a template I remember.
