Ann, the only reason I use a mask sometimes, is because I can save it and go back to it to finish it. Once you erase, you can’t do that. My photos still have depth of field, unlike yours.
The Grackle is one of my favourites bird. They left quite a while ago for warmer climes. The background was a little busy, for what I wanted to create. I extracted him using a mask. Replaced it with a paper I created using browns, matching the gold elements. Font snowflakes, Cassel’s corner punch brush
Using all my own photos, the recipients of these daily eadvent, really enjoy them. Again a simple layout, with a frame , and a few words. A photo I took the other day out in our trees.
These are not full sized pages, but small, simple daily eadvent calendar.
I said earlier, it’s fabulous, like an oil painting.
No she doesn’t, she always comes up with unique ideas to keep us motivted. Take care, my friend.
Again, thank you ever so much, it’s always a great compliment coming from a fellow psper. Are you slowly getting back into the swing of creating? Give the word art a go, it’s easy and relaxing,
Thank you ever so much my dear Annie. I enjoy the scavenger hunt challengers.
Meant to say that all the elements I created myself. Carole has a mitten tutorial, I used the same technique to create the stocking. She also has a Xmas tree tutorial, mine is different, I created a cone one, instead of triangles.
Xmas Subway art. I created the stocking, mitten , decorated Xmas tree, and cup myself. Carole has a tutorial on creating the mitten, I used the same technique to create to stocking. She also has a tutorial on making Xmas trees. The bells are duplicated clip art I found online. I do enjoy doing these. I find creating subway art relaxing, and quite therapeutic, with something productive at the end of it.
Festive Subway Art.
The November scavenger hunt, couldn’t have come at a better time. A welcome change. Between creating calendars and Xmas ecards for many weeks, I created this very summery flowery page. I must admit I got a bit carried away, Lots of different techniques, not just the 5 I had to create for the scavenger hunt. Translucent envelope, out of bounds flowers, photo booth frame, text on a curve, vectors and pen tool on the word FLOWER, so I could add the date. for the hunt I created the paperclip, button, scallops, torn edge, and metallic element
Thank you Karon, for you very kind words. The subway art started out as a Xmas card. It took a new direction, and once I got started the words slotted into place. Carole suggested that it would make a fun front cover for a greeting card. I agree it would look lovely cross stitched. I have several framed in glass cross stitch quotes, that I did with my children when they were much younger.
Another tag/label. I’ve made then using a size that can be printed on label card.
I used a photo I took of native rosehips, duplicated, masked the one, erased the background of the other, blend mode. Ricrac ribbon. Carole has a script and a tutorial to create this ricrac.
Tag/labels.
Seasonal Subway Art. Carole’s picture tubes.
Minka and Anne, beautiful pages you both have created. We’ll done. Mine is in keeping with the Xmas ecard in mind, as I have quite a few to create.
An outstanding card and envelope, ablaze with autumnal colours, and Nature’s bounty.
Thank you so much Annie, it’s much appreciated and means a great deal to me. I do the same as you, as our summers are very hot, 30c plus at its hottest. I close curtains, cook outside. I have 5 slow cookers, which live in the garage during the summer months. Jacket potatoes, stews, rice pudding, shredded beef and pork, is delicious cooked in a slow cooker for up to 8 hrs or more depending on the size of the joint. Anything to keep the house cool. We have fans and central air conditioning. Even the horses have fans in the stable, and heated watering bowls for the winter, for when the temps drop to 30 below. I posted a page in the November random page too. You take care, and stay cool.
November random challenge. Can you use the SAME photo, TWICE on the same page. Yes, I hope this counts. I duplicated the photo, and mirrored it. The frame is a font, which I coloured, textured, inner bevel and drop shadow. Carole’s snow corner punch, the other corner element is a brush duplicated, sculptured. The lace is Carole’s freebie. which I wrapped around the frames, I used the push tool on the edges, I removed the drop shadow from within the lace to give a little depth. Text on a reverse path. I have three snowshoe hares, I see the evidence of their presence more than I actually see them, droppings, foot prints, and where they have scratched the snow to get to the grass, as the snow gets deeper they can reach the new shoots of shrubs and trees, which they enjoy. I can quite easily change this into a Xmas card should I choose too.
Male House Finch. Out of bounds technique, mask
Due to the Covid virus, Canada post recommended that all International post be sent much sooner this year. I’ve sent my calendars, and cards. In this page I used masks, and extractions, the background paper is a photo which I blurred, and lowered the opacity. White tail deer.
Thank you ever so much Annie, for your uplifting, complimentary comments on the subway art. I love creating word art, and playing with fonts, to embellish frames, and borders. Your comment on my Xmas card making overwhelmed me, in a wonderful way, I thank you my dear friend. I’m fortunate to live in a place where winters, transform into a winter wonder land, of ice and snow, and creatures that inspire me. You are entering your summer months, which are now are a distant memory for me. I embrace winter here, even though it lasts almost 7 months. I love the paper you created, the simple block tutorial is cool, I love the darker colours used, yet the whole layout resonates hot summer days to me. That is how I perceived your page. All the pages summitted on here, are a feast for the eyes.
A different envelope this time, rounded edges. Carole has an envelope tutorial in the creative scrap. Once you get to grips with the basics, you can be a adventurous, and creating all sorts of different envelopes. The same applies to all of Carole’s tutorials. Carole also has a postage stamp tutorial. Again I used the beautiful mess masterclass techniques for the background paper. I created the frame, added Carole’s Xmas lights tubes, and some elements. The robin is my own, which I extracted from a photo. The background paper was created using a selection from the Junco, native sparrow photo, fading foreground in white gradient, with snow added. In case you can’t read the text at the bottom, it reads, Christmas is not so much about opening our presents as opening our hearts.
Karon, thank you ever so much for your very kind comments on my ecards. I create them for 5×7 photo paper, ideal size for the recipients to print them off. They do love the cards I make, they look forward every year, as no two cards are ever the same. I doubt they realize the amount of time, and thought that goes into them unlike a fellow PSPer. I often add in a letter these words, The card I have created especially for you, which doesn’t have any monetary value, saying that, it’s much more than a card, the love, thought and time that went into creating it, is priceless.
Lovely subway art Annie, and not necessarily in that order lol.
Thank you Art for your kind words. It has been several days since I was on here last. Everyone has been ever so busy, so many creative and inspiring pages, covering so many different subjects. Annie, I love your card. It’s wonderful that it only takes one of Carole’s tutorials on creating an envelope, to open up so many different ways to create and showcase cards with envelopes. Carole’s tutorials and masterclasses are stepping stones for bigger and better layouts.
Still working on ecards. A snowy scene with a Great Horned Owl in the barn window, makes for a perfect Xmas card.
Subway art. This was fun to do. Mind you I like word art, and playing with fonts.
