Cristina, wonderful to see your pages, it has been a while, and you have been missed. I love the out of bounds page, you did a great job. If I may make a suggestion, and I’m not being critical by any means, as I know you will appreciate my suggestion. The Olivia beads threaded on string, after you have angled them correctly on the curve using the pick tool, aligning the centre pivots with the string, select the eraser tool, and delete a notch on either side slightly larger than the width of the string, and not to deep, once done add a drop shadow. This is a project I did the other day using one of Carole’s bead scripts.
I’ve done a lot of pages, some of them I posted on facebook. I used one of Carole’s edge punch brushes to create the frame. Various fonts to create the word art. The feathers are brushes.
An Easter e -card. I used two photos, I used the Primroses as an overlay, used the eraser tool to remove what wasn’t needed. I also used an overlay on a yellow paper, used a mask to merge the two together. The element is a font, which I coloured in to match the primroses. The primroses, are out in flower at home in Wales, as for here we still have snow down, and the ground is frozen solid. My usual word art type of greeting.
I had a very pleasant hour or so this morning shooting and listening to a few more new Robin arrivals. I particularly liked this shot, and felt I had to showcase him. I created a simple canvas textured frame, and word art. I took a selection of the frame, promoted to a new layer, duplicated, to create the side orders. I selected colours from the photo.
My goodness, I’ve just scrolled through all the wonderful and diverse pages, far to many to comment on individually. Absolutely, fabulously creative bunch of people you are.
Peter, with regard to the drop shadow on the text, you have to covert the text from a vector to a raster, did you close the vector text, and select the raster layer to shadow. perhaps you selected the wrong layer by mistake. I suspect the flowers are a picture tube. If so, before you scatter them you have to create a new layer to scatter them on. That could be why you couldn’t place a drop shadow on them, you probably scattered them directly into another layer. To resize the scatter, you go to the top tool bar and lower the size, before you scatter. If they are to small, click on undo, and increase the size until you are happy with the result.
Peter,
Cristina, thank you so much for your continued kind comments on the layout and photos. I always very much appreciate them. Hope you are well, my dear friend.
Thank you ever so much Lynda. It will be another month before the lake is free of ice, if not longer.
Thank you ever so much Annie for you kind comment. I can’t keep up, as every time I visit the forum it’s a hive of activity. So many fabulous, unique creative pages being posted. Winter is slowly moving away, making way for Spring, which means I’m out more than I’m in. Nice to catch up with you. Take care, keep up the fabulous work and happy psping.
Jose, you are most welcome, kind comments boosts confidence, and creativity. We have all been there, we had to start somewhere. I like the colour scheme of your papers, they don’t distract the eye from focusing on the photos.
Jose, I love the way you split the photo into three images, while maintaining correct perspective.
Here is my scavenger hunt page. I aged the one photo, using sepia, although both photos were taken yesterday morning. I used a blur and lowered the opacity of the striped paper, which I created, as the colours were to bold for the LO. I have a couple of old papers which I aged a bit more, added the folded edge. I even created a crease in the photos, and dog eared one corner. Sand text, with some loose sand around it. I didn’t quite know what to do with the chain stitching. I had created the stitch years ago, all I had to do was select it in the brushes.
Here is my 4th project. I used papers that I had created a while back, created scallops along the edges instead of the jagged edge. Kept with the theme of bees
Fran, you did a great job, your Forsythia bush is huge, and look at all the stunningly vibrant yellow leaves it is displaying. Everyone are creating such wonderful pages, each one telling a story through photos showcased in creative layouts.
That is strange, because I can view all of my posts, including this one with the comments I made accompanying the pages. Anyway here is my 2nd project. You usually have Robins before we do, saying that Randy said he took his first photos yesterday of Robins. He’s in Quebec.
Randy, I like the rain effect. I’ve done the thousand islands tours twice on the St Laurence River. Everyone participating are doing wonderful work. I enjoy scrolling through the pages admiring everyone’s creative talent.
Here’s my third bootcamp project, I’m not a big fan of glitter, but I have used 3 photos. I used a font snowflake on the edge of the gradient paper. I also used an overlay. Robins arrived on the 18th, which is wonderful, as you can see I still have snow. I was hoping they would arrive on their due date, so I could use them in the bootcamp. I used colours from the photos for papers, creating effects of flowing water and movement. Sorry it’s not really in keeping with the tutorial. I used the paper to create the word robin.
It’s the second project. The migratory sparrow was the first, I skipped the very first sandwich project.
Here’s today’s page. I chose a photo with colours similar to Carole’s photo in her tutorial, browns. I Have 3 of Carole’s slats scripts, which are great time savers, yet the results are stunning. It would take me ages to create my own effect. Also used Carole’s corner punch brushes on the papers. The element was already extracted, and saved as a png file. This page took me less than half an hour to complete.
Oh goodie, I love the scavenger hunts.
Thank you Carole, I’m so predictable, 🙂 and again I hope I wont disappoint. Many of you in campus will know me and my style of creativity. Mainly, I think for my photos, which I showcase. I’ve been psping for many years, I found the campus almost 6 yrs ago. Which is an absolute gem of a site for anyone who uses PSP. Which helped me no end in improving the greeting cards for every occasion, and calendars, using my photos. We had a fall of snow on the 12th, the same day some of the Migratory birds arrived. I bet they were thinking to themselves, 🙂 ‘we should have waited a little longer before leaving the warmer climes. I followed the layout from the tutorial, framed the photo, used an overlay on the background gradient paper. The green strip of paper is also a gradient. I have very few kits, so tend to create my own papers, but I did find the elements on the web.
Hello boot campers, I’m not shy, just a bit late introducing myself. I did the very first boot camp in 2019. These are some of the first photos I’ve taken this year of returning migratory birds. Native American Tree Sparrows. I will show case them along with some bee shots, I took last summer.
Mary, I have only now found your comment on my Finch layout and lace mask. Thank you very much for your kind comment. I’m so pleased that you will be putting the mask to good use in your cards. Again thank you!
Beautiful butterfly layout Annie, we have the tiger swallowtail, same shape but no where near as colourful as these.
Lynda,
Thank you, it’s kind of you to say so. There are so many wonderfully inspirational pages posted. I love your page, with the lifted samples. I love that script. Great job on the perspective effect on room. The skirtin board is a great addition.I haven’t seen the Red Poll Finches today, I suspect that they have left for their breeding ground up north. I created the mask, if anyone would like to download it to use. I used one of Carole’s lace fonts. Open it in psp, then go to layers, new mask layer, from image. I used the original photo in the background paper, overlay, the laced paper radial blur, twirl. The paperclip, it another one I made some time ago. Colourised it added text. For the outer frame, I used the original photo, paste into selection, blur, inner bevel.
Corrie, what a lovely snow page. You can keep the snow, I have more than enough here.
Anne, lovely photos. I can’t wait for winter to give way to Spring, but I know for a fact, I’m going to have to wait quite a while before I see any green grass.
My Red Poll Finches have left, I haven’t seen them all day. I suspect that they have started their journey north to their nesting grounds. I’m sad to see them go, but those that migrated south for the winter, many have already started their long flight back. A simple layout using one of the paper clips I made some time ago, I colourised it Tarnished trumpet. The background paper is the main photo, overlay, the laced paper is the main photo, radial blur, and twirl. I made the mask which I used, using one of Carole’s lace fonts. I’ve included it for anyone who would like to download it and use. All you have to do is go to layers, new mask layer, from image. Make sure you open it in psp first. The page isn’t very sharp, as the main photo was large, and by the time I got it down around 600 pixels to post, the quality diminished greatly.
Annie, you are knowledgeable on some of the best of British programs. I loved the original series of all creatures great and small. Michele you must be watching the new series on PBS Detroit Channel. As am I. As for Dr Who. It’s one of my all time favorite programs, from when I was a child. The series was and still is filmed in Barry, the sea side town in South Wales. Not 15 miles from where I lived as a child. We would go and watch them filming the darleks. Great memories.
Lots of wonderful diverse, creative pages being posted. Great work everyone, always a pleasure to scroll through the pages.- This reply was modified 3 years, 9 months ago by Sue Thomas.
Thank you so much Annie for you kind words. I’ve been a bit quiet this past week or so, the weather has improved, between zero and plus 4, which is a welcome break in the long winter. I’ve been outside more than in. I’ve noticed that the birds have been very vocal, and the sparrows are cleaning out old nests, I wonder if they know something I don’t, like an early Spring. You are going into Autumn. Take care, and thank you my friend.
