This is a story about my brother and I at Christmas. He was killed by drunk driver when he was 18. I write about him often.
Help!? I am having a hard time with putting my font on my image with out it being really blurry to me. I dont seem to be able to fit my whole story on a page either. I am having to chop my little story to bits. When I do finally get it written I copy and paste it from Word in my little selection box. Would it be better to just type it myself right into my selection box? Hope that made sense and thanks.
Here is my Challenge #1. Taking me a little out of my comfort zone with the journal part which is why I signed up for this challenge. Looking forward to seeing every one’s layout.
I used a kit called “Lady Bug Hugs” by Memory Chicks
Great job every one on the layouts. I love them all. Lab 5-9 was fun for me and I learned a lot. All papers are made by me including the ribbon, button and leaf overlay. The only thing I did not make is the flower and it is from the kit called Dandelion Wishes part 2 by Antebellum Press.
Hi every one, I am from Michigan in the Unite States. I am not very good with titles and writing what is going on with my photo so I thought this would be the perfect challenge to help me practice. I cant wait to read every one’s stories.
Susie I love the layout of your dogs. I am having trouble with drop shadows also but we will get there.
I found basic scrap #2 really challenging. I have never made a cluster before and found it hard to pick which element looked good with each other. I also couldn’t find a banner no matter where I looked so I made a rope and hung some flowers on it. I am not sure I got the shadow correct on it. I am learning about overlays and masks so I made my own background with an overlay and lightened it which made a big difference on being able to see the photo clearly. I also had a problem with the shadow on the staple. It already had a shadow and I wasn’t for sure if I should have put another one there or not? I used a kit called “Bellalecia” by Pam Lefors Designs and a kit called “Endless Love” by Manuala Zimmermann.
Here is my project on Basic #1. The first project I made the arrow myself and was pretty proud of it. I did add a bevel to the arrow because I wanted it to be more like a “Tile” piece instead of paper. I would have liked an arrow that was fatter but when I tried to resize the arrow it became longer instead. I am also not used to working with buttons and bright colors but my page didnt turn out to bad. Carole I realize my kerning is off but I liked it that way on this project. For some reason no matter what setting I have my text at it seems to go back to a wider kerning again. Usually takes some one else to point it out for me to realize what happened. Getting started project I used a doodle instead of paint. Its missing something to make it pop..would a red rose have been better?
Hi every one,
I am learning to do shadows and I am finding it really hard to figure out how much to put where. I would really appreciate any feed back you could give. Thanks. I used a couple of different embellishments from Manuela Zimmermann kits. I did a google search on him and couldn’t find his site any more.
This was definitely a challenge. I used a freebie kit by Antebellum press called “Bohemian Sunshine”. I also used a couple elements from Angel Scraps kit called “A Mother’s Love”. I changed the color on some of the elements. I made the felt, the paper clip and the word frame. The picture is of my daughter who just turned 33. I had problems again with my shadows and what layers my elements need to be in realistically- like the paint shouldn’t be on top of some papers but under others but I think I figured it out.
Lynda: Happy Birthday! My grandson’s birthday is on the same day.
To every one else: Great job on the hunt! The layouts are awesome.
Carole: Thank you so much for all the work you put in to give us Boot Camp. I have learned so many things and have enjoyed myself immensely. I think every one has pretty much listed the things I have learned and there has been many but my favorite would have to be the text with the selection. What a cool thing to learn! No more struggling to resize text and put text where I want it to go. I still have lots to learn on fixing photos, colors to use and how to arrange my layout. Some days I have a real hard time with it but this course has definitely made it easier.
To every one else: The layouts that I have seen are just gorgeous. Great job every one!
Here is my Boot camp #11 or project # 5. I struggled for some reason with my title and text connecting so I couldn’t put a drop shadow without it going on the text also. It gave me a run time error and shut my program down after that I had to restart my project which was a pain. Taught me the hard way to save my project a couple of times while creating it.
Wonderful layouts every one. The creativity is amazing. This is my layout from project #4 or Bootcamp #8. I loved learning all the new things we can do with Psp. I used a kit called “Sweet Baby” by Cutie Pie Scraps. Its a picture of my niece who was a miracle baby due to the age of my sister. We are blessed to have her. I realized after I posted that my picture in layout were a little darker than others so I fixed it to the best of my ability. I am still learning how to “fix” pictures with PSP.
After going over Bootcamp #7 again I realized that even though I watched the video I really didnt use the Guide or snap to. So I redid a photo with my sons.
Lynn I love your flowers!
I am really enjoying boot camp and I am learning so much. Carole gave a few suggestions on my scrap page from #3 on the bow and title and it truly made a difference. Thank you very much for the feedback. The second photo is from Boot Camp #7. I did the glitter rectangle it is very small behind the photos. I also used a paint brush and added a little glitter to the bird and dragonfly . The kit I used is called “Sweet Spring” by cbj. Unfortunately I dont know who Cbj is. There wasnt any more information in my file. This picture is of my grand daughter Summer on her second birthday. She sure loved her unicorn! I am loving all the scrap book pages that are being posted. Great Job every one!
Bootcamp #5
My daughter said she really liked this one. I was a little reserved about it. Think it still needs a little work. Loved learning the little tricks to save steps. The kit I used was “A bit of wear and tear” designed by Gilda Paterson, Digital Design Den. This kit is about 12 yrs old. I tried looking up Digital Design Den on google but with a quick glance didnt see the original webpage or store.
Bootcamp 3. Took a bit of getting used to saving to 600 x 600. I am hoping this work.
Sandra
Hello every one. I am a little late to bootcamp but Cassel was nice enough to manually allow me to join. I finished bootcamp 1 and I chose the darker grey for my background. I like the contrast. I also finsished my sandwhich which I will post now. See you at bootcamp 3.
