Bracebridge ON
Well I finally got going on the Up to date challenge. Having been inspired by the fabulous work being shown here I made stab at January. I have turned mine to landscape as I have some photo holders I want these to fit in for the end result.
As in all projects its the getting the materials organized. I shoot in raw format and it seems I have a lot of photos that I need to convert to a JPEG copy. SO I scrounged for some I did already.
Love the new tricks of the trade you are sharing Cassel with this challenge. I am also loving your Tips and Tricks Book.
Its Canadian Thanksgiving to day, so here is my creation. The elements are from Autumn Clipart, and the cut out text is from a paper from Marisa Lerin’s August 2020. The others I created myself and of course my own photo.
Project 5 is done and dusted. This pic is of my two granddaughters when the youngest was only days old and eldest 18 mos. They were sleeping next to each other on the couch but somehow their little hands found each other!
This boot camp was excellent! I have been so excited to get up and see what the “Project of the day” was going to be along with the new lesson. Thank you again for sharing your wealth of knowledge Cassel!
I created my own background paper from the early beginnings of this project, and also made the heart elements and frame. I struggled with the text in the selection box but finally got it to work. When I got it it was magical! That is one trick I will have to practice with to get it down to the science.
Oh man this group is full of talented people. I have so enjoyed seeing your beautiful work! Thank you to all of you for sharing and inspiring.
Golly gee willikers Cassel that was a fabulous lesson! I agree with Ann A., that trick to “Pinking” edges is amazing. I am fast forwarding and have an idea on how Euka Euka created her beautiful scallop edge paper template. EE you did a very precise job on that, well done!! I also loved the lesson on using selections to create a border. Both those “tricks” will be put to good use!
Here is my Project 4, I know the the lesson only used 3 photos but I had to include the info board pic (used the perspective tool again 😉 ) that Pete was reading for my benefit (and those of you who read it)LOL.(ps, times have changed since it was built and is now the 4th longest span according to Wikipedia) On our road trips to the race tracks we try to find some interesting sites to visit along the way. This was on our way down to Charlotte NC, just outside Fayetteville WV.
Love seeing everyone’s take on our projects/lessons.
Well I finally got Project 3 (friends) complete! I struggled with the filling of texture for some time and somehow I managed to overload the program and it would not budge. I had saved my work but there was something in that file that was just continuing to throw a spanner into the works. SO.. I deleted it and started from scratch again and here is the result. I can say that I am getting very good at filling with texture and colour. I used some paper and elements of Sheila Reid’s “Speed Zone” kit from Pixel Scrapper. Now to get going on Project 4….
I am enjoying seeing everyone’s fabulous work here and how diverse the project turn out to be.
Cassel: Thank you for your feed back. I was wondering why my photos did not have a name associated with them and would not open larger when clicked like the other great work being shared. Turns out I was embedding them in the post. I now see the “Upload Images” (I thought that was for screen shots only). I have not used the perspective tool before so thank you for that lesson. I did use it to correct the perspective of the track decal photo. I did use the new correction and also skewed it on the lay out as for me it gave the impression of it coming at you with speed but a much better photo to work with. An improvement on the original for sure. Good reason to save your work as a PSP file!
Adventure Project Completed. I found it very interesting how the photo seemed to take control of the page in determining the colours and details. This started out with very a different colour pallet!
Cassel: I did have a lettuce and tomato sandwich for my lunch, thank you for the inspiration! 🙂
Now for today’s homework, my first digital scrapbook page. I got the Good Life Sept 2020 bundle from Pixel Scrapper that I pulled out some papers, a frame and some elements. Then I followed your tutorial and spun it into this page. Your teaching is clear and precise so it made the daunting task quite easy. I am pleased with the result.
Lunch is served…I’m having a lettuce and tomato sandwich which I have cut into thirds. As there is nothing in my cup I am choosing to have my coffee after I eat my sandwich! This was a fun exercise, now I am hungry!.
Hi everyone, I have been a Paint Shop Pro user since X3 and recently bought 2021, but mostly from the photography side for editing and manipulating photos. Even at that I am still learning about the program. I am new to Digital Scrap-booking and am excited to learn from Carole. I have found her to be a wealth of knowledge and she presents in a very easy learning style. My set up is the medium grey background and dark grey workspace, with the contemporary materials pallet. For this boot camp I will change to un-check the “Tabbed Documents” to see how that works for me. I have always had it set to tabbed…but then I am usually only working with one photo at a time.
We are big NASCAR fans and I have oodles of race pics. We have attended at least one race at every current track in the last five years. So I think that will be my focus for this introduction.
