Q = Quench a thirst as most pets need lots of available water to drink, even if most of it gets slopped over the floor when they have one.

I have been playing today and this is what I made using a preset shape which I coloured and then shaded using The method of selecting, feathering and using the brightness and contrast tool as shown by Cassel to give my creation some dimension. Following on from this thread of using the manual colour correction after greyscaling and increasing to 8 bits, this is an example of what i did with the one creation. I also turned it into a brush. I have been playing with these 2 images I got from Pixel bay. I used Photozoom on the horse image and impressed that it did a great job before I tubed it. TFL.

I use manual correction tool a lot but not for use on photos as such. When I have an element i have made like a bit of lace or shape etc. I then do these important steps, 1. grey-scale it and then 2. increase the colour to 8 bits. Then you can use the manual correction by having the the source colour as a dark grey and the target colour as what you fancy. It will still work without grey-scaling it but not such a good colour result. I always save a version in grey-scale and then if I want a different colour I can just go into manual colour correction to get the shade i want to match what i am doing.

Following Cassel’s monthly seminar re Out of this world I had a go at what was demonstrated to show here. I found a free image on Pixel bay, tubed it by using the lasso technique with a feathered edge of 2 pixels. I used Cassels script   https://creationcassel.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_10&products_id=84 to check edges of image for any stray unwanted pixels.

I used Cassel’s free scallop pattern tile 1 to make these fish. The scallop shape just reminded me of fish scales so I vector drew the fish shape, filled the body with the pattern that i had coloured with a gradient and then used a plugin from filters unlimited, colour rave – atmospheriser to get some colours going on. I also used the technique shown by Cassel in her monthly seminars using the select, modify, feather and brightness contrast technique to get some shading where I thought it might be needed. I then put them on a gradient background to simulate under the sea.

I used Cassel’s Torn Edges Script for the top paper layer and used a texture to make the base one to look like paper too. I also used different flower tubes that I have either made or images I have extracted. One of the made flowers was made using Cassel’s Flower Power Script and the buttons were from her Button machine script. I made the stitching taking instruction from one of her monthly seminars.

I used one of Cassel’s  free templates for a flower and used shades of purple for the layers. I also, selected and modified to get a border around the petal edges where I used Cassel’s glitter script to create a matching glitter for the edges. I used an inner bevel on all the layers and added a button to the center. Hope you like it.

I took my inspiration to make a butterfly from a line drawing from Dover Publications which i drew with the pen tool and manipulated the nodes to get it the shape i wanted, filled it in with a gradient and solid colour. Added a few bits and blurred. I used the selection, feather and brightness contrast technique shown in one of the monthly master classes. When I was happy with it, I used Cassel’s Directional tube Script (what a god send) to make the tube move. I then drew out a vector shape and then ran a free script called vector Tube to make the butterflies encase the shape.

Oh Cassel, what are you letting yourself in for!

I cant name a specific tut but i would love to be able to make jewels that looked real all sparkly and transparent, like diamonds.

How to to make grungy backgrounds without them looking like you have chucked mud at them, more like the lovely distressed inking.

Explanation of terminology. I often see references to SB using abbreviations and terminology that I have no idea what is meant.

There will be more but all I can think of at the moment and sure others will have requests.

                                                            Thanks, Sheila xx

Hi Cassel, I know this is an older post but hope it is an ongoing one but i wish PSP could do ‘clipping masks and turn a raster shape into a vector one’

Also, not sure that PS can do this with their brushes but even so, I wish PSP could have the brush ability to do a long tapered end. Now I know we can play with the brush variance a bit but I cant get nice long tapers only short stubby ones that make good teardrops but not hair strands.

Another thing I would like from PSP is the ability to drag from the layers and drop straight into the image like PS. Lazy I know as we can already achieve this but drag and drop way would give you a bit more time to play and all these bit more times add up to a big time. LOL
