Thank you Carole for putting this workshop together – I’ve learnt a lot and have loved seeing what everyone else creates. Below is my Day 7 project.
Hi Carole the paper from my previous project is from a kit called Sweet Violets – it was in the march blog train and can be downloaded at https://themagnoliapatch.blogspot.com/
So, below is my day six project. I’ve mainly used elements from Janet Kemps Snow and Snuggles kit.
Am really loving seeing what everyone is creating – it is inspiring to see the different slants we have on how we do things and the photos are also great. Don’t know why but I struggled with this one to the point of having to start from scratch three times! Anyway got there in the end. I have taken bits from different kits and reused my photos from day 4.
Took the plunge with another script – clip to it – and love that as well. I continued with the spring theme using some photos taken in the garden yesterday – there’s not much colour yet but it is definitely emerging.
I love the Open as Layer script – thank you Carole. Here’s my day 3 project.
Am enjoying learning about templates. Have used the same papers as Carole.
Am loving the projects already uploaded. I followed the tutorial and used the same kit papers. The photo made me smile because this year we have seen no snow at all.
Enjoyed creating a mask in this tutorial – for me it felt easier creating one than adapting one. I used one of the water colour brushes suggested and a kit from digital scrapbook. The photo is one of mine taken on a local walk.
Carole wrote “is it possible that you were trying to brush on the wrong layer? You can’t brush on a vector layer, and you would not get much result if you try to brush inside of the brush mask. Maybe you would need to add a raster below your text first?”
Thank you so much Carole. I was trying to use the brush on the wrong layer.
Managed to follow the instructions until the section where the brush was used behind the text – I guess my settings were wrong somewhere because no matter what I tried I just couldn’t get the brush to do anything so I made a background rectangle instead. Will try again another time. I’ve carried on with using photos of aconite taking recently.
Wow! Masks are truly weird… They look like they might be fun but I found this quite hard – three attempts before I got there.
I’m glad I committed to doing bootcamp – I’ve learnt loads, have loved seeing everyone else’s work and have enjoyed the whole process. A little sad that we are at the end.
Here’s my project 5.
Thanks Carole for all your comments and support. The birds were just a png file from the kit I was using, which I now can’t find. Picture tubes are another thing I still need to learn about.
Love what people are posting. Diane those eagles are amazing. Mary –your colour scheme is perfect. Theresa – those greens really pop making it a fun page. Marie-Claire – your project 3 layout is really well put together and the photos are great. Peter – great idea with the background.
Here’s my project 4. I’ve used some photos of Water Lillies taken a few years ago. I’ve learnt a lot with this task but really need to practice with the different techniques to understand them better.
I photographed these flowers growing out of a wall last year. It’s nice to be able to use them in a project.
I mainly used the spring kit that Carole gave a link to. I downloaded a pink glitter paper from digital scrapbook and made a textured rectangle for the title and below the photos.
I’m enjoying seeing all the different pages that are being created – it’s wonderful – thank you to everyone for sharing.
This is my Day 5, Project 2. I tried to do this with one photo, like the example in Carole’s video, but I couldn’t get it to work so I’ve used two photos. Both photos from Fountains Abbey again.
The kit I used is ‘Snowy Winter,’ downloaded from https://themagnoliapatch.blogspot.com/
