Good Morning! I  wanted to show everyone my blunder.  Cassel very gently informed me (in Cassel’s usual kind manner) that I had gotten ahead of myself by making a “Love-ish Challenge” that missed the mark.  As I am wont to do, I jumped ahead working on a project that was completely wrong.   Cassel suggested I post it here to show what I have been doing lately anyway, thinking you might be as interested in seeing my attempts as I am in seeing all of yours.  You are all so much farther along than I, but what I lack in skill I make up in enthusiasm. As usual, I do go on for a bit and I hope you will bear with me.

I started out with one idea and it quickly morphed into another unrecognizable form.  Unlike most of you here, I do more physical scrapbooking than virtual.  I have a lot of time on my hands since I only sleep an average of 2 to 3 hours a night, with the wonderful opportunity to catnap whenever I wish, leaving me with lots of time to dabble in a variety of creative activities.

Since it is the 200th anniversary of Jane Austen’s works I have been making several journals of hand bound papers filled with images, small pockets for tags and other embellishments and hang dangles of relating charms to the hand-made covers.  I do a lot of coloring with Copic Markers and then cut the elements out and adhere them with mounting tapes creating a “Diana Original” in mixed media.  The idea I had for my love story is in the first image below.  I found this image on one of the sites offering free coloring pages.  The girl with the moon sliver immediately made me think of “Once in a Blue Moon” saying, something I was reminded of by my Mother when I broke with tradition and married a divorced man.  Once in a blue moon. was the chance of my having a good marriage with the man of my choice.  My Mother and friends were wrong! Their tears at my decision was misplaced and after 55 years together I can say that with confidence.  In the second image, is the great night sky background that I ended up using in a much different way than I had planned.

Then, remembering I was told my head was in the clouds which led to my adding the image of us floating amoung those self-same clouds, blissfully happy after 55 years together and that is “My Story of Love” that may not be right for the exercise perhaps, but was too much work to just set aside.  It really does happen once in a blue moon, I’m very fortunate and wanted to share.

I’ll try to do better and read the instructions next time. (S)

      hugs,

      Diana, aka PandorasHatBox

Trish, I’m a newbie and we have never met but I wanted to tell you how much I love your Good Luck masterpiece.  I wish it were mine.  I saw a splash something like that on Pixel Scrapper and wondered how it could be used, this is a wonderful example.  Thanks for posting.

        Hugs,

Congratulations to all the winners, well deserved .  I was amazed by the talent of ALL the participants and how quickly everyone has learned new tricks, could it possibly be that Cassel is such a talented and giving instructor?   We are all so fortunate and I look forward to the March session and seeing you all again.

            Group hug,

              <p style=”text-align: center;”>Final Assignment–
              CONCENTRATION definately required</p>
Here is my final project, although I did not make a scrapbook page and I hope that is all right. As I was going thru old images for the “BEE Happy” layout I discovered this old, faded, cracked photo that I loved. It had gotten wet at one time and the backing came off causing it to crack and curl, but I resisted disposing off it because it is one of the few photos I had of my husband and me together since I was always the one taking the photos.

Since working with 2020 and Cassell I read a tutorial about the scratch removal tool. I had tried this very tool with no noticeable result. Seeing the video and finding out there was a special way it was used, sent me scurrying back to my pc to check it out. I had just cliked in the center of the image and expected the cracks to simply disapear, they didn’t. Everything is technique, isn’t it? I apologize for being so long-winded but I am so excited.

I am posting several pics, the original, cracks removed, image improved and my husband and I separated from the background and then inserted in a lovely country landscape.  My photo is saved and I have learned so much. The process was very time consuming since I had to learn a totally new process with many steps. I have made many tubes so this was the easiest part, The crack removel was amazing and although I couldn’t restore all of the image I am very pleased. Thanks to Cassell for the instruction and Corel for the loan of this fabulous program.

I will be sorry to see this bootcamp end, but hope to see many of you again in March (?).  Good-bye my friends!

Please forgive me if this is a duplicate, I misplaced my brain.

Finally, sorry  I’ve been so slow, oodles of Dr. Appointments this month that cut into my time.   Here is my BEE themed layout. This is one of my grandsons with his baby sister (now 13 years old.) I chose these as my subject because I wanted to pay them recognition for loving their little sister more than I have ever seen before.  I had seven brothers and they certainly didn’t think that way about me.  Their love and tenderness  toward her have never wavered over the years and I’m so proud of them.

LOL, Once I found this little bee everything fell together, I had my idea after wracking my brain for days.  But, I’m rather  pleased with this one and I want to send tthe sheet to her for her birthday next month.  I used some of my favorite themes for this, Pink, black+white stripes and ROSES.  I had the image of the little girl for many years in my collection so I tubed that to push the little sister idea.

I’m still struggling with the layers and I am determined to master them. It’s not as easy in PSP 7 because you can’t see your layers as in 2020. I’m trying to convince my husband that I really NEED this upgrade.  I’ll post my final project after a bit and you will see why I am so convinced ( I swore it wasn’t going to happen to me, but…)  I  have been having so much fun and spending so much time related to Cassell’s sites that I’m strung up tighter that piano strings, I’m so enthusiastic and excited about what I am learning.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU CASSELL, for allowing us access after our time regretfully ends. I love seeing everyone’s work and enjoy how much we all have improved.  To all our lurkers, “Don’t give up, keep working at it and you will be so pleased at the results.  I’ll be here for the next session and we’ll all be happy to meet you.”

Hello everyone, and hello Cassell…Thank you for your sweet encouragement, it is such a pleasure to be amoung all of you cheerful, pleasant people who are so anxious to learn new things, it does the heart good.  I just wanted to drop in and let you all know of a fabulous, FREE site I found at  https://www.cleanpng.com/free they have literally hundreds (or more) of the most fabulous PNG files and they are happy to share, more good people.  I am trying not to be greedy…BUT, I’m already planning on going back. (SLAP! Bad Diana, LOL) They would be a great resource using PSP for making your own…STUFF! Enjoy!

Oh, BTW I corrected the size of the text of my golfer’s layout, it didn’t look that small until I really looked and printed it out for my Husband.

                  Group Hug,

I decided to do this workup for my husband, he lost a good friend of his a few months ago and golf was their thing and he misses him dearly.  I had to separate Bill and Bernie from a group and fill in around them before adding the psp frame.  I’ve been wanting to do something like this for quite a while, I’m glad this pushed me into finally getting it done.  I had the hardest time just picking what I wanted to do, so many possible directions makes my head spin.  Then,  I took your “Memories” banner and  set the writing aside and used the banner to add the sentiment on the same surface. Copied that and then removed it and put the memories word back. ( I was tickled when I noticed the flag on the pole was pink so it went perfectly with the banners and allowed me to sneak some of my favorite color pink in the layout.)

I had a very difficult time with the layers on PSP 2020, I didn’t have any trouble with the table setting project but for this I did something wrong and my layer panel was so big I kept losing all my files, I don’t know what I did, I must admit I ended doing the layers in my PSP7 after spending hours and hours I shouldn’t have had to and my back is letting me know it.

I can’t tell you how much I have learned here and am wondering if we will be shut out after this class is finished.  I will be devasted if that is so.  I want to learn more and more and I have so many new avenues to check out that it will keep me busy all winter.  I guess the good thing is that Spring will be here and I will be amazed, time is passing so quickly and there just aren’t enough hours in the day even though I only sleep 3 to four hours a night.

                    Thank you Bunches!

Thank you so much and if this gets me in the drawing, I am thrilled. (S)  The frame is in this edition of PSP,  I went to image/frame/edge rough 1.  I had this frame in PSP7 too and it was always my favorite.  If they had to add just a few frames I think this was one of the best. I have included a copy of the original image and then a snapshot of adding the frame, choosing OUTSIDE options for the placement.

Just an aside, the bottom portion of Addy’s dress is sheer and green grass showed through as I separated it from the background and looked strange. With some experimentation, I selected just that area and decreased the transparency and it worked.. I was so pleased, it did the job.

This page is made from an image of my eldest grandson and his new step-daughter going to her first “Father and Daughter’sDance.” I isolated them from a driveway background and placed them in a more appropriate location for such an auspicious ocasion. I darkened up the background to make it appear later as the dance was in the evening and strew rose petals along the path. I didn’t know how to depict the sparkle in her eye. I love this photo!

Well, I hope I have this right… I did my table setting and my sandwich.  I am quite overweight so naturally I had to add a bit more.  Like 2 slices of bacon, 1 slice of cheese and…just a little mushrooms in a brown gravy.  Feeling guilty as all get-out I patted myself on the back by leaving off the top bread and making it an open-faced sandwich, we must watch our calories.

                            p.s.  It’s a bit fuzzy, but I’m learning.

I am so excited about starting, I have been using PSP 7 and I received this pic from my daughter this week, my grand-great-daughter Paisley, she loves pretty clothes, high-heel shoes and ANYONE’S shoes or boots, so I thought they might appreciate this layout. LOL She reminds me of a little “Campbell Kid!” (S)
