Day 7, I decided not to make the clip for my project, but will attempt it later. Here is my scrap page. I have enjoyed creating the elements during this class, and am so glad to learn how to make a few of them myself. I love having everything coordinate.
Day 6, scalloped ribbon.
Day 5, Laser Cut Doily.
Day 4, stone letter tile.
Day 3, Wooden Ornament.
Life has been crazy, just now getting to day 2. Here is the frame I made.
Day 1, my tile.
Not certain this will qualify for the letter E, but how about one of my favorites:
E = Ecru lace
I am delving deeper into my Heritage Scrapbook, began during the Love Scrapbook class in February. I have already posted most of my work on those pages, so won’t repeat them here, but will continue my project this month. I look forward to seeing what everyone else is working on, not just for the pure pleasure of enjoying your work, but for inspiration as well. There are lots of creative people on here and it is fun to see how each person interprets a project or challenge.
Day 5 results, another family history page. I kept this page simple. I really liked the mask better without all the extra stamping around the edges of the photos and opted for ring style frames instead. I made the paper and balanced out the boldness of the pattern with the plain red paper and ribbons.
Day 4 results, making our own mask, and papers!
Day 3 results. Honoring my family history.
Love Story Challenge, Day 2 results. Liked being able to build-a-plaid! 🙂 Going to come in very handy.
Running a bit behind, life gets crazy sometimes! Anyway, here I go…Love Story Challenge, day 1. I am in love with my own family history, were it not for all those who came before me, I would not be the same person, or might not exist at all. These pages will honor their stories.
Homework-Day 7
Things went smoother this go-round, until I resized and saved my 600 pixel .jpg. At that point, the mat journaling did not save. It remains on the full size saved file, so I did not keep at it tonight.
I was not able to download the suggested scrapkit, file refused to download, so I reverted to my very old digital scrap stash and used one named Crispblue. I used a frame from another kit and colored it to match my papers.
Homework-Day 6
This day has certainly been a lesson in perseverance. I had no end of troubles from the moment I opened my program. Loss of workspace, loss of tool bars, movement of toolbars, hiding windows, hiding layers, disappearing fonts, buggy font installers (old stuff that new virus detector found when font folder was opened for first time). No real terrible issues, just time hogs and a bit of frustration at simple tasks requiring major time slots from last evening and this morning. With frustrations being what they were, I found that in this too, there is more than one way to skin a cat. My goals were (mostly) accomplished. I made the papers used on this page with a bit of help from the patterns in my digital stash, and the elements are from a very old scrap kit named “A Bit of Romance”. The ribbon needed a color change, and I wanted the folds to have a greater depth. More frustration, but goal achieved! All things considered, I like my page, although not very similar to our example for the day.
Cassel: This is the first time I have seen the eraser tool Shift+Hold trick. I groaned as I was watching the video, imagining all those click that was going to be needed to zigzag those edges…. Woot, woot! I love it. I practiced quite a bit getting my corners nice enough to suit me, but this one is going to get a bit of use!
Sharon Cope Carriere: Nice use of color, love your Childhood Memories page!
Homework-Day 5
Made my own papers, added elements from various downloads from Sweet Shoppe Designs.
Homework-Day 3
Hey everyone! Loaded my homework up, then read the posts. Love seeing the different table settings from each one. Too much fun! Can hardly wait to get Day 3 started!
Homework-Day 2
Added a tablecloth and shadows to each layer. Usually, I would merge portions of my image then add the shadow, however, I thought I might wish to edit or delete some of the elements later on as I learn more about how the program has changed since version X. I saved in both .pspimage and .png file formats to allow this and upload to this post.
Homework-Day 1:
I have a customized and saved workspace. Preferring the light gray workspace, I keep the materials and layers palettes visible, and have all toolbars except web and photo. Not every tool from each of the chosen toolbars is visible, but customized according to my most frequently used tools.
Hello Everyone!
I am Shannon (go by MyArk) and I am using PSP 2018. I began using PSPX forever ago and loved it so much I never upgraded the program. It was perfect for my needs. When my old laptop finally died, I was forced to get the newer program. Was I in for a surprise! I am sure I will love this one too, in time and with a bit of practice. I am looking forward to having fun with all of you and learning a few new skills.
At the end of May 2018, shortly after the purchase of this new computer and PSP 2018, I fell and shattered the humerus of my dominant arm. While the bone has healed, I still have a time with my shoulder, baby steps all the way. Finally I am able to do most things I need to and am back to computing regularly, hopefully I can get settled back into a creative mode and once again enjoy photo manipulation and learning new things.
