That makes sense. It seemed reversed on the screen to me, but I seem to be having a mixed up kind of day. Many thanks. D.
Well, see I didn’t know that. Learned something else new. I think I never noticed that because I usually don’t go back to the vectors. I had to reboot my computer so I’m afraid the original image is now too transformed to provide any useful information. I’ll send an email when I have a image that hasn’t already been saved to some other format.
Sounded reasonable, but I still get the “file cannot be created” message. Probably safest if I stick to psd type at this point.
Ah, that sounds reasonable. I’ll give it a try.
If it starts out as a pspimage, I use a simple “save” but it doesn’t always allow me to. Have to admit I never tried looking at the option button. See attached….this is what the default was. I’ve changed nothing.
Seems funny that I could use PSP this long and still don’t seem to know what I’m doing. Sigh.

I like the cathedral windows. I combined the puffy text technique with the cathedral windows and the rustic wood frame here: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/309200330647450136/. I like the challenge of trying to combine tutorials together. Sometimes it works out; sometimes it doesn’t; but it’s fun to try.
Well, I gave it a shot. I need a lot more practice with vectors, sigh: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/309200330647201537/ — what is really funny is that it still looks like a funky Christmas tree. Must have trees on my mind this year.
Try using one of your tinsel tube with either the circle doodle or Kaleidoscope filter (or both)….super pretty results (I made that suggestion in my review of the script because I liked it so much). Playing is the best part of PSP. I can do some things in Photoshop but I never feel as relaxed with it as I do PSP.
I didn’t try activating a layer. I guess I figured since nothing else was working, that wouldn’t either, but maybe I gave up too soon. (Wouldn’t be the first time.) I will hold tight for the patch and see what happens.
Have you tried randomly scattering one of the tubes and then running your circle doodle script? I ended up with a very pretty wreath like result from the Christmas lights, of all things. Maybe that’s what snarled my PSP. I do ask a lot of it.
Oops, I probably should have posted this under PSP stuff. Sorry. I’m having a bad morning.
Thank you. Much appreciated.
The notebook seems to be lacking some content. I assume it is still being worked on?
Congratulations to the winners–well deserved. But congratulations to everyone who entered…lots of creativity on display here.
I was thinking that sometimes responding to a quote might be a good challenge. I saw one today: “Even the smallest act of caring for another person is like a drop of water – it will make ripples throughout the entire pond…” — Jessy and Bryan Matteo …. now I realize that the drop in a water is none too original as an image but that could be part of the challenge…how to move beyond a cliche and bring the meaning of the quote into the graphic so that it would be meaningful with or without the actual quote included.
Congratulations from me too, Joanne!
I did leave reviews. I remembered you said that would be helpful. I figure I owed that much after I had to look up (again) how to move a selection (why can’t I remember that?).
I have both tip books now and realized, like the big doh I am, that this is a great way to find those little tips you give along the way that I often fail to write down. Very helpful. Thanks!
Oh, Sheila, I identify with much of what you wrote. I have many of the same issues, including a lack of self-confidence in my own work and the complicated issues around using elements from other designers because everyone seems to have their own TOUs and some of them are mystifying to me.
My favorite things are also learning how to create elements of my own.
I don’t join in many challenges that are scrapbook related because, well, I don’t often do scrapbook pages, so I don’t have much to suggest in that area. I did enjoy the alphabet challenge but that’s because I didn’t try to do a scrapbook page for each one (that would have been more than I could manage). I thought one challenge in the Lab was fun (though I didn’t do anything with it) which was to see how many different ways one could use circles (polka dots included)…..taking a shape and seeing how many ways it can be manipulated is sometimes a good brain storming technique (or taking several shapes and seeing how they can be combined). Sometimes trying to use just a limited number of colors (or shades of a single colors) can be interesting). In one forum, long ago and far away, the moderator would provide three images and the challenge was to blend the three into one image, but I’m not sure that would work for scrapbookers.
I could have phrased that better….if the challenge was to be judged, I’d hate to have to pick one over the rest. They are doing a great job with these scrapbook pages. Some very good ideas here.
What fun to see what everyone is able to do. I would hate to be the judge for this contest. Good job all!
