Laurie, I just downloaded the template?
Hi all 🙂
I’m joining in too, hope I will manage to keep up with the challenge, stil have to finish the last project of the study group.
I think this challenge will be about the pets we had over the years, nice way to honour and remember them. We now still have a dog and one cat. (At one time we had 7! cats at the same time 🙂
Nice to “see” familiar faces here, we are almost like family here 🙂
Project 4
I used this kit: freedigitalminikit_marisa-lerin_20210_e-g-mini-kit
The picture is from my garden.
The font I used is am-intex and 4990810 🙂
The doily I found at pixelscrapper.
Carole, could you please, when you have the time, give some feedback on my project 3 (shadows?)
Project 3
Not to happy about the layout, but followed the lesson as much as I could. I used a kit called eyeinspire-missing you.
The string came from my stash.
No, Carole, I sent a message to Helen. 🙂 (About frozen shoulder) 😉
I would LOVE a course about shadows! 🙂
I found your article, it makes sense, but on my own projects…….? I’m still not confident 🙂
Struggling here with shadows ,this is the new result 🙂 (The one with That’s me on the arrow is the second attempt 🙂
Carole, thanks for your comments, I will have a look at those shadows………..it seems that’s a thing I have to work on at a lot of my projects. 🙂 I will have a look at my saved settings for the shadows, maybe something isn’t right there.
Sent you a private message 😉
I really love all the projects I see here, well done everyone! 🙂
Carole, I’m glad! Now the pressure is a bit off 🙂
It’s not a bad thing at all to repeat the Basic scrap course, I already forgot things I’ve learned when I first attended the course.
Carole, Does the study group end one of these days or is it here to stay?
I’m slow, just made the first attempt of module 3 and not happy yet….. 🙂
Glad I do the Basic scrap course again, forgot a few commands……..
Finally, my module 2 🙂
I couldn’t find a staple so I couldn’t use the warp brush.
I used a star also for the binding a script part.
I attended the basic scrap course in october 2020, but already saw I forgot several things we learned during that course……so repeating it isn’t a waste of time 😉 😀 🙂
The photo I used is one from another century 😉 The girl on the photo is me about 8 years old i think.
Me too! 🙂 (Drop shadow Icon on toolbar)
Oh my, scripts are so addictive! 🙂
Instead of finishing projects for the study group I tested several scripts and loved it! 🙂
Oh wow, Corrie ! I love the colors! 🙂
It’s fun to see everyone’s projects. Lesson is the same but all the projects are completely different and the fun part is they are all wonderful! 🙂
Carole, the shadow on my second try is better. Thanks for the advice 🙂
Some of us ( me for instance) are having some issues with the shadows on projects. I found a piece of text of Carole ( I think on the pixelscrapper forum) posted that might help.
Here are my general guidelines:
1- The thicker the object is, the larger the shadow will be.
2- The closer an object is from the surface, the more definite and darker the shadow will be (not blurred).
3- Tthe further an object is from the surface, the lower the opacity will be.
4- Shadows will not be identical if they are on two surfaces at the same time, especially if they surfaces are at different heights.
5- Shadows are almost always black; their reduced opacity will give the illusion of a color matching the surface.
6- The darker (or busier) the surface is, the darker the shadow will need to be.
7- The direction of all the shadows in a project should be consistent. If using a full-size project, here are my go-to settings for PSP:
Ribbon: Offset : 15, Opacity : 60, Blur : 15
Paper: Offset : 10, Opacity : 60, Blur : 10
Tag: Offset : 10, Opacity : 50, Blur : 10
Button: Offset : 20, Opacity : 70, Blur : 20
Beads: Offset : 15, Opacity : 50, Blur : 20
Frame: Offset : 20, Opacity : 50, Blur : 20
Flower: Offset : 25, Opacity : 40, Blur : 30Once you have set them, save them as presets and call them “ribbon” or “paper”, etc. so you will know which ones to get. Of course, you can always tweak those settings for specific situations if a button or a flower is larger/smaller than usual. “
Carole, In your article Keep your Paint shop supplies organized you recommend to put supplies in a safe space in case you have to re-install and loose supplies.
You mentioned also the Plug-ins, to keep them safe too, but I can’t check a box at the bottom (like the one when you point to the brushes with that enormous list 😉 )
If I want to do that for Plug-ins there isn’t a check box (save to)
Hope I explain it a bit better now? Oherwise Corrie maybe has to help explaining, because I think she meant the same.
Me and my shadow 😀
Made the shadows smaller now……..:) But forgot to add shadows to the other objects……. uploaded new version…
Thanks, Carole 🙂
I made a new version (luckily I found the file without shadows)
By accident I filled the top paper with the blue color and this is also nice (IMO), so that’s why I post both.
Hope the shadows are ok now. 🙂
Shadows are for me (eventhough I have the cheat sheet next to me) “hard”. I always think they are not right or something. I am looking now at real life things such as pictures on the wall etc to make me more aware how shadows are. Hope that helps too. I feel a bit silly telling this 🙂
I’ve done three modules 1 in one project. Hope that’s ok…..if not, please tell me so I will try to stick to the assigments 🙂
I used a script to change to before and after photo of the project instead of adjusting by hand. And a date stamp instead of Alpha’s.
I’m still not easily satisfied with the shadows, but think they are ok now?
PS: Arnhem is a town in the Netherlands, the museum is an open air (?) museum, where you can see old farms, factories etc. In the summer season you can watch how people lived and worked years/centuries ago. People dressed in clothes from that age tell you everything about those times.
Yes, it does. 🙂 Thanks for your help 🙂
The confusion came because of the article, because it said “you will definitely set up the following folders” and plug-ins were also mentioned 🙂

Learning so much since I joined campus 🙂
Glad your new lap-top is now almost like you want it to work.
Carole, Putting tips in a Word document is a great idea! Never thought of that, especially the search function is a good idea!
Ann, Thanks for your reply to my question. The PDF files wit the lessons I d/l every time and the book I will look into.
I’m re- organizing the PSP supplies as suggested in the Keep your paintshop supplies organized article.
In the chapter “What about other supplies” it’s suggested to put plug-ins also in another folder.
It worked ok with the brushes etc.(of course) but when I tried to set up the Plug-ins folder there isn’t an option to do that?
(What a mess those folders are, when I installed PSP20 I used the Dutch version, but during the challenges I changed my PSP to English so I didn’t have to translate everything)
We are getting a lot of tips and tricks from Carole but remembering them all is bit much……..how do you guys/girls keep them? Writing them down?
My campus mailbox has a lot of mails I keep for reference but another way to organise/keep tips and tricks? I don’t know yet 🙂
Welcome back, Corrie 🙂
A new laptop is always nice but the work you have to do till it’s the way you want……..
Laurie, Carole made us aware of a program called Nexusfont……..ideal to see what fonts you have installed. Easy and very handy 🙂 I’m using it and think it’s wonderful.
You can find it here: https://www.xiles.net/
Carole, A part of the question I asked isn’t answered 😉
As I already have a workspace file, learned in another class, I was wondering if can rename the one I have now or is it better to make a new file? It’s now called workspace but would like to change to 20workspace 🙂
I’m still here! *waves*
My frozen shoulder is acting up a little, so taking it slow. I think I did a bit too much housekeeping or at my computer. Sorry I didn’t sent you an email about it, especially since I enjoy all the challenges ,bootcamps etc so much.
I was looking at the workspace yesterday where it was on my computer and found it in the 2020-workspaces-purchased folder? But I (of course) didn’t purchase it?
Questions: You suggested to put the PSP version name in the workspace title. As I already have a file, can I rename it or is it better to make a new file?
Does saving your workspace mean you also save the changes you made (for example the repeat button in the layer group and the star at the top left “paste as a layer” ) ?
I am showing the project I made earlier when I attended the basic scrap course.
