Fun Challenge Carole … and loads of outstanding posts!
I can hear the alligators already and it’s not even April yet. I guess they don’t pay attention to the calendar. I am mindful about walking in the dark!!! An alligator can probably outrun me for about twenty/thirty feet. I took a few liberties again with the template and I would like to go back and redo the little boxed pictures … but I am all out of time for today so won’t get to it until some time over the weekend. I played with making the picture the entire background and then altering it a bit. I made the alligator ric rack with Carole’s easy-peasy ric rack maker script. I guess it will have to stand for today. It’s fun to make something, then sit back and decide how to redo a portion for perhaps a better effect. The alligator signs are all up at my condo complex around the pond. It always surprises me how little attention the VRBO folks pay attention to them while they walk their little pets not eight to ten feet from the waters edge. Coming home from there to my house the other day there was a ten footer just laying right beside the road! I thought perhaps he had been hit, but no, he walked right across the road. These are the months, they are on the move lookin’ for luv! And they are noisy about it! Have a nice weekend everyone.
I’m on a calendar countdown until the day I can go home. As usual, I’m longing for spring in Maine, but everyone is telling me it’s still pretty cold and not to hurry. So I’m making do with just using pictures from home. I rotated the template for my purposes (pics) and I did add the splat but I blurred it considerably. I used Filter Forge on the thin little outline to make kind of a variegated effect with some sparkle. A fun template, Carole. Again, a lot of wonderful works to look at … and I am enjoying your balloon adventure Corrie! I can’t wait to see how far you went in it and how high? Loads of places around here give balloon “rides” they call them … but they aren’t really rides because the balloon is tethered. That would be good enough for me!
I made this template about ten times before I got one I liked. I guess there just wasn’t enough cookies around me for inspiration! I took great liberties with the template … such is life. While I downloaded a ton of the kits, I didn’t end up using any of them. I found one Free Wallpaper of a forest and split it in half and then made the papers with just what is given in PSP. I feel for all the animals around me. I know people have to live, too, but this area is just pushing them out with the building boom and I’m not sure where people expect them to go? I wish there could be some sort of program for more land dedicated to animals. I know it will never happen, but it’s a good/happy thought. The animals, I purchased online. The font is a favorite of mine when big letters are needed called Freshman. I am absolutely thrilled to see so MANY entries and so many new names! And the works are ALL FABULOUS! A joy to look at and experience a small portion of your talents. 🙂 Thank you.
Diamond Alternate … was browsing Creative Fabrica for some cool FREE graphics and found a whole set of bee items well back in the archives. I decided to use that. Two of my favorite things, bees AND sunflowers. Used Cassel’s honeycomb maker for the back. Pretty simple but a big splash of color!
I used the template given and the materials given although I did change the colors of them. Snow is a little hard to come by down here in Florida and not one of my favorite seasons … so I stuck to themes I like, boats and sailing … used the adornments in the kit as well, just added some little hearts. I kept mine colorful exactly as you would see a day on the sea there. That is the Margaret Todd … a four masted sailing off the dock in front of The Bar Harbor Inn, otherwise known as “The Gray Lady”. Gorgeous spot and no matter how often I get there, I can’t wait to go back. 🙂
Who can resist a sketch challenge? They are always very different and fun. A friend and I are so happy to be able to go places once again … as businesses and tours and cruises resume. Been a long two years waiting! We went to Tarpon Springs this month and it was lovely. Using pic’s I took while there. She had been there before many years ago, but I was a newbie. Anyplace with boats, gulls, docks and food is my kind of place. Boating girl at heart and always will be, I guess.
L ~ Lobster Festival – Rockland, Maine August 3–7, 2022 Where you can eat all things Lobster.
Anne, Trish and Pirkko – All lovely!!!! Beautiful blends and all so original and different from one another! Love them. I plan to play with this one, too, later in the week. One of my favorite challenge forums – as they can be so vastly different where people go with them. Got company again though, so not much time for play. 🙁 You gals are making us put on our thinking caps, for sure, to come up with something nice!
M – Maui – Never been but long to go.
F ~ (oops ~Forgot which letter I was on … LOL ) … Foreign travel is always good, too, for a honeymoon … although might be kind of tricky now with loads of borders closed due to the virus.
Y ~ Yachting … boating is ALWAYS a great vacation if you love the sea or water.
U ~ Urgent Care Center ~ Might help if hospitals are unavailable
Thank you, Mary. Yes, me too … I used to love to ski and sled and toboggan and go on the ski-do’s … but arthritis catches up with you and pretty soon those warm climates call. When my husband passed, I realized it was time to make the transition to half/half … and even that has become more sixty/forty. LOL Florida has much to offer but every state has their own benefits. I think one is always uppermost in your heart as home. Maine will always be in my heart. Year round beauty and things to do … if you can. I always look forward to going home in Spring when all that white stuff is gone!
Thank you, Bonnie. 🙂 You would have to do a fair bit of shoveling before any Pickle-Ball could occur! LOL
As I have security cameras all over the property, I can appreciate the snow, but not have to experience it while I hibernate in the south. I always marvel how pretty it is, but truthfully, I don’t miss the cold anymore. There was a day I would have, but not so now. No more plowing the road all the way to the ocean either. YEA!
J – Jab (shot)
2021 didn’t really lend itself to too many exciting travels for me other than getting home and back here to Florida again. Still not anxious to travel too far – so no great pictures. I just had fun with it and made a Valentine for the dog. 🙂 Cute scrap from Digital Scrapbook.
Just playing with a bunch of Carole’s scripts and tools … and stitching and preset shapes and whatever.
How about “Love Story Retold” … Magazine Maker … Up to Date Digitized ,,, Magazine Mogul (afterall you ARE the Editor in Chief of your own piece) Up to Date Pictorial … Love Story Illustrated (that ought to bring in some curious people! ) Magazine Digest … Up to Date Datebook … Love Story Studio … Love Story-Line … Love Story Pictured … Magazine Creative …okay okay … I’ll stop now.
I don’t think you have to be too worried about people being scared off. They would probably be here even snooping around because they already have an interest in the creative vibe. Everyone starts at the beginning in this stuff … no need to fear it as it comes even faster when you have friends to share it with. I will start off with a few suggestions as I know it will snowball with a whole bunch after a bit. LOL Just the way it goes here – loads of creative people. How about “The Love Story Layout” … “The Calendar Collective” … “The Easy Magazine Make Up”. Just a start.
Just a fun one using the colors. I do like snow … I just like it to be where I am not. LOL
Everything about Christmas makes me happy. I love it for the reason … but also because it’s joyous, the sights, the smells, the cooking, the friendships, the songs, family or friends getting together, great times to make together and also remembrances of great times we had with those we have lost. It’s too bad we couldn’t hold on to the feeling all year long. Especially after the couple of years we have all just put in. Also a great time to look around and find someone that needs a little Christmas to come to them.
The house is Christmas from front door to back. Who says you can’t go home again? Try telling that to your heart … I guarantee it won’t listen. Even the sunroom is decorated. We might not get any snow, but we have FESTIVE! Thank you for the frames, Carole.
H = Half Priced Sale … who doesn’t love a BOGO?
I always enjoy these sketch challenges. Not too long ago, I bought one of those clear bird feeders with suction cups to hang on the window behind my computer. I WAS after some little Florida birds. The instructions said distinctly, to be patient … it sometimes takes birds a while to be brave enough to come to it. I waited. Then a few days ago, I heard something knocking on the window. The curtain was closed so I opened it to find … no, I did not have any birds, I had a very SMART raccoon that figured out if she jumped up on the storage bin, then hung way over to the grill … she could then leap to the hose reel mounted on the house … and get to the bird feeder. I have a awarded her a diploma for good thinking!!! I guess when you get hungry enough you figure out a plan! She was adorable standing on her tippy toes on the hose reel just scoffing as much as she could. Needless to say, the bird feeder came down the next morning. 🙁
Nice to see everyone again. Loads of great stuff to look at. My company has headed back north to the cold. I do miss them … but not the cold! Someone sent me a graphic of a barn for autumn and I had fun playing with it with Carole’s text shaping script. Just sharing as I haven’t really had time to play with much else. Thanks for all the lovelies to look at!
I think my calendar will be sights you might see on Florida beaches. 🙂
I purchased Carole’s Piped Frosting PT yesterday … went back and redid my cup cake. Looks a little more yummy with the piping around it, but I’ll bet that vibrant red would turn your teeth red for quite a while! LOL
I used all the colors but the blue. It didn’t seem to fit with my project. With thanks to Joseph, my handyman, for sharing the picture with me. The leaf and little fox are PSP Picture tubes from past versions. The font was Color Tube which I got at CF for free. I always miss the colors when I come to Florida … and I miss the lilacs when I go back. Next Spring I am going home a month early just to smell those lilacs!!!
