Great job, everyone. I love the pastel color palette. I hope I can make time to create something.
K = Kinder (Yiddish for children)
I’ve been following along with the blog and I’m enjoying everyone’s projects.
Marie-Claire, I’ve never made my own flair button, but after seeing how pretty yours is, I’m going to have to start.
Mary, I love playing around with the kaleidoscope tool. It’s like Forrest Gump’s mom said, “You never know what you’re going to get.” When I find one I really like, I save it. It’s wonderful to see the same effect on different pics.
I know I haven’t shared anything in a while. I’ve been in a slump and the game has been repeating themes from 2015. So I’ve pretty much been reusing my old pics. (For any newbies, I have a gaming group on FB and the game gives us a new theme every day.) Anyway, here’s a new one: I included the original illustration by Bec Winnel. The lens distortion effect is one I’ve never used so I had fun playing around with it. Any and all constructive comments are always welcome.
C = Cocktails (when you’re adults, that is.)
Even if you don’t having sibling, I’m sure you can imagine stuff to do with one or more.
SHIRLEY!!! It’s so great to see you’re doing better. Love and hugs to you.
Congratulations, MoniqueN!
I haven’t really had a chance to comment on individual projects, but I’m loving them all!
Good idea for a future challenge, Cassel.
S = Santorini
K = Kid-Free
I am honored that I was able to inspire you, Betsy. “Future Sweaters,” made me giggle; great job!
Cristina, thanks so much for the update on our Annie. Please be sure to send her our love and let her know we’ll be right here when she’s able to return. <3
Very cool, Lynda.
For today’s theme, I resurrected a project from an old Scrapbook challenge (December 2017). I made a bunch of changes, but it was great not to have to start from scratch
Thanks, Mary. The knit script from the Creation Cassel store creates a 400 x 400 tile of a knitted texture in whatever color you choose. (Each time you run it, you’ll get a different texture result.) You can then use the tile as a pattern to flood fill your background. For this project, after trying several different things, I used a 45 angle and 250 size to flood fill a 3600 x 3600 page. I duplicated that layer, rotated it 90 degrees, and changed the opacity of the new layer to 50%.
I accidentally discovered that you can also use a pattern or gradient to create the knit tile. The possibilities are endless!
What would I do without Carole’s scripts and other goodies? Some days I’m just at a loss for what to do in my gaming group. I used Cass’s Scattered Photos script; it’s wonderful and you can still move the pics around. Her Knit script has come in handy more than once recently as the game has been giving us “sweatery” themes; it makes for a great background. Lastly, her Stitches2 font helped me make a lovely frame.
Z = Zoonotic
The genetic sequence of the COVID-19 virus is similar to a coronavirus found in bats, so that may be where this disease originated.
Great use of the out-of-bound technique, Betsy.
How did we get from X to D?
V = Virus (another obvious one)
Way to go, Fiona!
Thanks for letting us know, Christina. Please send Annie our love and best wishes.
O = OMG, when will this pandemic be over?!?!?!?!?!
Thanks so much, Sue.
That’s a really interesting background, Fiona. Your photos are lovely. Have you tried using a little bit of a drop shadow on your elements? It might make them stand out more. The font that was used looks like Bodoni which should be a system font. Keep experimenting and have fun with it. 🙂
Really great stuff, everyone. Sorry I haven’t been around, but my laptop had a nervous breakdown and I was just able to reinstall PSP yesterday. I have to get back into the swing of things.
Today’s theme for my gaming group was Lazing Around. I used an illustration from John Gannam, an artist from the first half of the 20th century.
A background paper from Creative Fabrica made a nice frame and the side embellishment was made using one of Cassel’s tatting picture tubes. I’m still restoring my content so I used a bow from Lara’s Digi World that I got from Digital Scrapbooking Studio instead of using one of Cassel’s bow scripts. (DSS often offers free mini kits in their newsletter.) I recolored all of the elements to better go with the illustration using Adjustment: Hue and Saturation: Colorize. The font is Mr De Haviland, free from 1001 Fonts.
It’s wonderful to have PSP back. Using BeFunky and Pizap was so limiting.
F = Fever
B = Boredom (from the isolation)
