Hello Everyone. I seem to be having problems posting comments. My fault I am sure. First my PC hung up while trying to upload a scrap page. I restarted and posted just text and it worked fine so did an edit to try the scrap page again. That was also successful but I wanted to receive replies and forgot to check the box so I edited again but after I clicked to submit my comment disappeared.
They say 3rd time is charm so I shall see.
For day 1
I use a very simple and clean screen with the light gray. I have the material pallet, tool options, and layers pallet open. Others I open as needed and then close them when I am done using them. I also keep the script toolbar at top and have a custom one with my favorite of Carole’s scripts on it.
I use PSP 2018 or 2019 depending on which computer I am on. I have purchased every version since V 10 and had Jasc 6 before that. I have been Scrapbooking off and on for close to 20 years. I enjoy making or mouse drawing my own supplies and I love Carole’s scripts. Especially the bows, knots and ribbons.
Hi Everyone. Tried to post earlier and my PC froze up and I was unable to upload any of my pages. I did want to join in on the conversation about constructive criticism and feedback on my work. I am all for it. I use 2018 and 2019 depending on which computer I am on. I have been using PSP since Jasc version 6. I upgraded to Version 10 and have purchased every version since. I also love Carole’s scripts, especially the bows, knots and ribbons and have quite a collection of them. I do not buy supplies from anyone else and mostly I like to make my own. I have done scrap pages for many years off and on but always looking for new techniques to try.
I enjoyed day one of the boot camp. Thanks so much Carole.
I prefer the light gray work space and I also use a minimum on my screen. Just the material pallet, layers pallet and tool options. I do not like things in my way so I open the history pallet as needed rather than keeping it on the screen.
Well I tried agin with a page and it appears it may work. This is a page with just my own stuff. I love to draw and I will open a pattern beside my canvas and use it for reference while I draw with my mouse. I try to make them different from the original pattern. My work is not perfect but my family members love the personal touch knowing that I created myself just for them.
Sheila you did a great job on your Swan.
Thank you Michele. Most of my friends call me Sue but since we have another Sue, Wanda or Wanda Sue is fine.
Your bear is adorable. I love drawing bears. I guess it is cheating a bit but I use ellipse with black foreground only for the mouth and cut off what I need after I rasterize it. I do that on a different vector and just add it to the preset shape when I use it on a project. The short line is probably easy to curve with the nodes but I find it faster to add it later. I have not spent much time trying to manipulate those nodes until this challenge.
Thank you.
Marlene I think you did a great job on yours!
Thank you AprilDawn. It was fun. Will get more into it next time
I did and then used it for this one just to be sure it worked. Thanks. Great tut
This was a quickie just to try it
Don’t laugh..well go ahead I guess it is OK. LOL This is my first attempt. All parts made with the ellipse. Maybe next time I will try the pen tool also
Thank you AprilDawn. Yours is beautiful. Sorry I thought I had commented on it already.
Thanks Cristina. I completely forgot to add the hay bale. It should be under the crow and sign
Very corny. Please let me know if this is too large. I saved as png and it seemed larger than usual. My husbands head fit into the farmer. The crow and fence are tubes and the funny turkey is my own drawing. Used the barb wire line style for the wire
Here is my Day 7. I used the Refreshment Stand font and it needed a lot of fixing. The wire holding my photos looks kind of kinky. I did it freehand and I am not good at that at all.
Carole I have really enjoyed this challenge and sure hate to see it come to an end. Thank you so much for your time and effort. It is much appreciated.
Teri Cleaveland I probably did not understand what you meant. I was not aware that the shortcuts were in the menu on the PSP program. I just use the shortcut keys on my computer keyboard.
Teri Cleaveland I hope this is not a dumb question but are you looking on your computer keyboard for the shortcuts? I don’t think the PSP program version would make a difference.
I got a bit carried away with my Bokeh. Bow and ribbon were created with one of Carole’s awesome bow scripts
I am late with my day 5. Have not had much time to work on it. My daughter got sick and had to go to ER yesterday. Kind of a stressful day but so thankful to learn it was not life threatening. Iused the free paper from the Luvly site that someone posted a link to.
This one is definitely my favorite so far. Such fun!
These two are sisters so I didn’t want to leave the other one out. Everything on the 2nd (Jessica) one is from scratch except the photo and the diamond that I framed with a heart. Not real please with my mask on the second one but I had fun playing with it. There is also a pattern that I made from the other tutorial but it hardly shows through.
Here is my day 2. Worked on it all day and the original file has about 35 layers…then I ended up with this. LOL I have made several plaid type papers but finally decide to just leave one as striped and I like i much better than the others I made. Such fun learning these new ways to do things! However, it is much easier to just use a Cass script.
Carole I love your tutorials. I learned something new and that is why I love doing them.
I love seeing all the different results from Everyone. Beautiful creations by ALL.
My day 1 is about my inlaws. Me trying to use someone’s template is kind of like me trying to fit a square object into a round hole. I have never liked templates so try to make myself do them since that is a part of what scrapbooking is all about. I think Everyone has their own style and I don’t think I have ever found a template that fits mine, But I do love a challenge and I never liked saying I can’t..so for what it’s worth here it is.
Registered and looking forward to this project!
Dawn your page is really cute and I love the quote too!
Thank you Cristina for you nice compliments!
Thank you April Dawn.
Here is another one I have just completed today. A new technique for me. I received a Photoshop tutorial from Scrap Girls and then figured it out in PSP 2018. Still working to perfect getting a good line art paintbrush that blends well on backgrounds.
Not sure what size to upload. Hope this is not too big. Another old one, 2009 where the shadow is not so great. It is kind of fun going back through old ones and seeing what you have learned.
An old one I found I cut off part of the ribbon because the shadow was not good and it was merged to the ribbon. I either got it that way or didn’t know how to do it back then. This page is from 2008. Shadow is still not great but best I could make over on it.
Beautiful work by Everyone. Thank you for your comments on mine. My photo is an internet find and the silhouette is a feathered selection that I created and flood filled with black.
I always like this quote
