Hi all,
I really like what everyone is coming up with. Here is my attempt at the Day 7 challenge. I chose a picture of my Christmas ornaments that I like, but used the tools from the Day 7 kit so the colours are not perfect for Christmas, but I like the overall effect. I didn’t have space to add the copy text piece, but I did change my header text from Vector to Raster to add the Drop Shadow. The Merge/Merge Down function was very helpful with the squares.
Hi all,
Here is my attempt at Day 6. I really liked the Pinking Shears. Still looking for a use for the multi-letter colouring, perhaps on my Christmas turnings (Red & Green). Added a few Maple leaves to this one, although the Wig Stands are actually made from 150 year old Pine (reclaimed from a mill that was torn down/rebuilt long ago) but the Bravery Bead Box is made of Maple, Cherry and Walnut. I like these photos better too and the drop shadow on the leaves makes them jump off the page.
Almost caught up. Here is my Day 5, Multi-picture project. I’m still looking for the right background. The green polka dots are OK, but I think I like the glitter a little better. I’d really like a little more brown, but it’s fun to just play at this point. I had to put my pictures above each other, rather than beside or the size of the objects would not have made sense. The earrings are much smaller than the pens and the pens are much smaller than the garden dibbers. Since all of the items are made from wood, I like the leaves as an accent rather than flowers. I think I’ll play with solid colours behind my titles in my future posts.
Still getting caught up, but here is my Day 4 page. I used some of the flowers and the background from the Dandelion kit, but then I copied some of the pieces from my Day 3 page to bring in continuity. I’m working toward establishing some standards for how I show my turnings either on-line or in a book. Loved the use of the shortcuts, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to remember any more than a few. I like the shadow effect. I think it will make a bigger difference when I get my corrected photos ready for use.
Hi Everyone,
Had a little trouble with the Internet and then was away so a little behind in posting my projects. Here is my Day 3 Project. I’m in the process of redoing the photos of my turnings, but for now, here is what I have.
Thanks, Leslie
Wow, you people have already posted your Day 2 pics. Am I behind already? lol
I am also right-handed so I turned the cup around to face the right. I am not so fond of onion on my sandwiches so I removed them, otherwise it is the original sandwich, just slightly rearranged. The first time I saved it I let the system save it as a png file then I discovered that I had lost the layers. The second time I saved it I found the .PSPIMGE format and updated the size to 600. This looks better. For posting I used the .png file though (which doesn’t show the change to the cup handle).
Thanks Diana.
Cassel,
When I try to use my “Smart Select Brush” it seems to lock up my system. Am I doing something wrong or should I report it as a technical error and ask for a fix?
Thanks, Leslie
Hi Cassel,
Looks like I may be the first for the Jan 2020 Bootcamp. I’m new to PSP, although I’ve had the software since 2016. Until I retired I didn’t have, (couldn’t find) the time to learn to use it. I’m now doing quite a bit of Woodturning in the warmer months and am looking for ways to best display my works online. I’m not sure scrapbooking will be the answer but I’m sure the techniques will be very useful. I’ve included a picture of one of my class projects for use in then next few days. I have quite a few more pictures when the time comes.
Leslie
PS – I have now played with the background settings for my workspace. Changed from Dark to Medium. As for the workspaces themselves, I think I’ll keep most open as reminders that they are there. I’ll likely close the Learning Centre and the Organizer in a few days.
