Cindy, I wanted to encourage you to not give up. I have been where you are. I first bought PSP in 2018, and for three years every time I opened the program I closed it immediately in frustration. Carole offers a Basic Scrap course that is very good. I think also from time to time she has a Scrapbook Bootcamp as well that starts with understanding Layers.
This has been a rough year for the world. Last Tuesday marks the anniversary of my second vaccine. The number of active Covid cases in Memphis has been horrible. So, we have been very careful. This week was the first time I bought my own groceries without curbside delivery. It was so nice to go in a store and actually pick out what I wanted for myself. I have missed talking to people in person, except for my immediate family.
I enjoyed creating the background for this layout. My ‘grunge’ is subtle, but it is there.
Jnet I love your pictures and layouts as well. My favorite so far is the one that you showed the front of your RV. We are RVers as well. My dream is to possibly one day travel the US and Canada. Just experiencing this beautiful world. Do you live in Quebec? My grandmother was born in St Wensalas. They moved to America when she was 16 to work in the textile mills. My grandfathers people were of Scottish descent, and many of them left America to settle in the the Shelborne area. Hopefully my French will be good enough someday to navigate around Quebec.
This is my Day 5. I decided to darken my background picture on purpose. I hope it works.
Carole the bottom border was a close- up picture of a cactus that I took. I turned the picture on it’s side and just used one line of the spines.
Lynda, some were taken at the Grand Canyon, and some were taken in Tuscan, New Mexico, Southetn California, and Palo Duro Canyon in West Texas. The Grand Canyon is one of the most amazing places in America.

When I was growing up I didn’t like the desert very much. As an adult, I love it. Even in the most seemingly dead desert, there is life and beauty. When traveling out west, I love seeing the subtle color changes in the mountain depending on the time of day.

Happy Birthday, Carole
You are the best teacher! Thank you for all you do!
Henry, your page is beautiful! I like how the background is crocheted. The colors are great.
Beauty in the Winter- One of my favorite times to take a hike in the woods is in the Wintertime. No bugs! These pictures were taken in the Smokey Mountains, east Tennessee in late winter/early spring. I live in Memphis where it snows (if we are lucky) once a year. So snow for us is a real treat! On this trip, we were gifted with fresh snow.
I love everyone’s beautiful pages! It is wonderful to see so many different approaches using the same guidelines. Great work everyone!
This is my Day 2. It was much easier to make a template for Day 2. I think Day 1 was too complicated, with too many parts! This was easy to create, and after creating the template, I used Filter Forge to give me a rain effect, in the background. These are some of my favorite rainy day pictures and another one of Melissa’s poems.

Bonnie I love your kitties, and I always enjoy your PickleBall Layouts. Do your kitties travel with you?
This is my Day 1. I abandoned the idea of creating my own template and figured out how to download the free one. I didn’t realize the Template name was a download link. This was easy once I had a real template to follow. I will try again at a later time to create my own template. All of the photos are mine, and the poetry is original poetry written by my daughter Melissa Shaw.
My day 1 is still a work in progress. Creating a template is a little harder than I thought it was going to be. My rectangles moved on me! I need to learn how to lock my layers. Corrie I love your colors, Sandra your Easter pics are cute! Sue I love both of your layouts! Someday I am going to see a moose live and in person! I live in the south and when I have gone north we have never seen one! My mother used to send me a stuffed one every year because she knows I like them.
Thankyou! I don’t know how I overlooked the template. I just about have a template complete. So I will carry on. Thanks for the answers!
Carole, I just have a question. I have decided to create my own template. Do my layers need to be Raster or Vector Layers? Thanks, Laurie
Hi this is my second big Challenge. My theme is “Finding Beauty”. I love being out in nature, I love trying to capture beautiful moments in photographs. The pictures I have taken over the years. I plan on featuring some of my daughter’s poetry with my pictures.
Carole, I really like your template for the first page but I don’t think it is available anymore. Off the top of your head, do You know of a similar template out there. If not, no worries, I will put the time into research. Thanks, Laurie
Bonnie, number three is my favorite too!
Memphis in April is beautiful because it’s when all of the Azalia bushes show off. My favorite Memphis walking song is Walking in Memphis by Marc Craig.
Ann, one of my favorite songs, when I was a little one, was These Boots Were Made for Walking. The little boot you found was a cool addition to a nice piece of work. Minka, I love your walk the line, and Mary, your overlay is super cool.

I think Walk like an Egyptian is one of my favorite old songs. Whenever I hear it, I can’t help but sing along. My background paper came and the border came from Pixel scrapper. I created the ‘walk’ word by using a stone texture from Filter Forge, and the man was created by copying an old Egyptian print from the internet, isolating the man, and then flood filling to make a silhouette. I wish I could have added little sparks of light on the ‘Like and Egyptian’. I was unsure how to do it. I played around trying to figure it out, but eventually gave up when I was unsuccessful. Also, folks, is there a way to kern individual letters?

Thanks Michele.
Thanks Annie, I was worried that my page was too simplistic. I love your tribute page and story about Steve and Terri. We used to watch Steve on TV along time ago.
Minka, giraffes are one of my favorites too! I love your giraffe page. The design is beautiful.
Here’s my zoo design.
Thanks Sue. I did forget the shadowing. I noticed after I had it up and posted.
This is just for fun. I love gardening, especially in the early spring after things start to warm up. Yesterday was a wonderful day! My husband thinks I bought out the garden section of Home Depot! But honestly, I only filled one cart full of beautiful little plants. And then, I spent the afternoon playing in the dirt.
The picture is mine and I downloaded the elements from Pixel Scrapper.
Thanks Ann, I will have my husband look at that with me. I did try to increase the font size in PSP perhaps that is the culprit!
Thanks Carole. I will look at the Master! No, I didn’t figure out the ruler think yet. Even, my 2018 version has tiny tiny ribbon rulers. I my end up calling Corel over the issue.
Baboon
This picture was taken a long time ago. I am not sure what my granddaughter is saying to her cousin, but the expression on her face is priceless! I choose this pic because it challenged me. The original picture had the legs of two people and a scarf from one of those people that I needed to remove. It was a challenge, and I am not sure I did it correctly. Carole do you have a Masterclass that teaches this? I cropped some of the extra body parts out of the picture, but could not crop them all. When I used just the Magic fill, it filled weirdly because it did not recognize that the white walkway was different than the wooden planks, So, I ended up experimenting.
I really challenged myself on this one probably, beyond my current skill set. I created the three fish circle by using one solitary fish from pixel scrapper. I also created the black brads. Carole had sent out a blog post on PSP’s ability to create bubbles and balls. So, I figured that I could create a brad. Not sure I did it right, but it was fun.
I use a rope instead of stitching, just because they are on a pier. Drawing the rope with a picture tube was a challenge unto itself. I didn’t like the rope only on top of the picture, and the rope looked stupid going nowhere (not anchored), so I figured out how to put one of the ropes under the picture. I looked and looked for an Alpha on a pendant. I could find one so each letter is layered on a separate layer on to of the pendant pieces.
They are enabled. They show up as the thin black ribbons with little lines. These classes are the first time I have tried to use them. I can pull guides off of them. But that is all I see of them, is. What’s on the screen shot.
