I am on the We(s)t coast of Canada . . . the S is silent fro October to May. Across the straight from Vancouver.
I have signed up. I haven’t scrapped for almost 2 years, but this challenge is perfect for me. I won’t be able to play the first few days though! I will be away, taking the photos for my book. It is our 30th anniversary, so this will be our memory book for this milestone.
I havn’t played in a long time.
w = waffles or weight, for measuring
N – Nails or Nail it down
Wind
Eclipse
I have NOT made my pages yet. I have one page sort of decided on, and 2 pages that I have photos decided on, (probably). I am pretty sure day 7 will be a water scene for me.
The pages so far would fit any month, so I am waiting until the end to make my solid decisions.
T = Tic Tac Toe
Gin Rummy A card game we played when I was a kid. We had a hardcover notebook to keep records of the scores .
Jam & jelly, some of the best ways to keep your produce. Also jicama, a great veggie, but too hard to grow in the north.
D = Dirt. Plants taste best if grown in real dirt.
Pregnant, which is what you were before you had the baby!
I had forgotten about this game, until I got the reminder email! Thanks for that.
M = Motorcycle
Dinner – A special one.
The thing that frustrates me the MOST is changing colours. I know paper scrappers don’t have that luxury, but we do, and it should not be as hard as I am finding it.
A = Adventure
B = Beautiful
C = Challenging
D = Detour
I like doing all sorts of scrapbook challenges, although I have not had a lot of time for them lately. Like Cassel says, they can stretch your ability or jumpstart a page. I also like to learn to make my own things, and if that could be included in open forum kind of challenges, that would be great.
Doing a challenge, and seeing how others treat the same challenge, may help increase your confidence. Even if you aren’t confident enough to post it this time, you may with a bit of practice. If you aren’t sure about something, you can put it out there, and someone else may pop in and give you some gentle pointers. Feedback is always a HUGE learning tool. Sometimes I have trouble finding how to do a step, like the gradient in the Reflections Tutorial. I was happy with what I achieved, but I would accept and appreciate anyone telling me where I went wrong. I also love to look at other people’s pages for inspiration for my own book.
Here is my attempt at the Reflection Tutorial. I missed a step somewhere on the mask bit, and couldn’t make the gradient work, but I think it turned out well, overall.
The leaf was on the road, extracted by me, and the water was a tiny corner of an old photo. Font is Cardinal.
I like #1 best. At first sight, it appealed to me. I think the mouse icon could be a bit bigger or more prominent though. #4 is my second choice.
The reason I am not choosing the others: #5 is my least favorite. It has the wrong colours for the site, and is too pale, and easy to overlook. #6 is also wrong colours, and is too long for an effective logo. #3, I am sorry but to me it looks more like a football kick than a scrapbook. #2 could be anything, and a logo should suggest what you are promoting.
Thanks for allowing us to help!
