Thanks Carole, your email fix solved the problem, really appreciate your help. I felt it would be a setting somewhere but I had absolutely no idea where to look.
I’ll get on to some text now.
Thanks again
Hi Lynda
Obviously I’m not explaining myself properly. I know where the Freehand Selection Tool is and I know how to select it. But when I do, there is nothing available at the top to select the 2nd Freehand. When I use the Rectangle selection, there is other things available to select, but when I select the Freehand Selection tool all those options disappear. I’m needing to know how to get these options to appear. Have attached 2 screenshots of what’s available when I select the rectangle and then when I select the Freehand Selection.
Well, here is day 2.
Carole, I understand what the Freehand Selection tool is, but when I select it, so that I can shape the text box around the elements, there are no options in the Tool Options box to select. When I select a rectangle, the options are there, but they disappear when I select the Freehand Selection tool. I’m sure it’s just a setting I haven’t found, but I need help. I know how to just do a rectangle text box.
Thanks, Jean
Thanks Lynda, I sort of think I’ve got that sorted, but my problem is when I’m trying to tell PSP what shape I want the text box, when Carole said to click on the freehand selection tool, then select freehand, I don’t seem to be able to find that freehand bit, my tool options box doesn’t show anything. Hope I’ve explained that sensibly!
Hello everyone
I’m running behind, only had a chance to start this challenge this morning. We have been without internet for several days, so I’m only looking at Day 1 now. I’ve got my page layout sort of the way I want it but I’m really struggling with getting the text happening. When I go to the freehand selection tool to shape my text layer there isn’t anything visible for me to select anything else. I realise it’s something I haven’t done so would love some help. But, here is my layout so far, just waiting for the text.

This was a great exercise to learn how to combine masks. I followed through but didn’t have a photo that I could use, so started again and just combined the bottom two masks. Then I felt I didn’t have enough images to tell the story so took the liberty of adding another small one.
Here is day 5, more from Grouse Mountain
Wanda, if you click on the image it opens up so you can read it. I tried 3 times to upload the individual files and each time it looked right until it posted, then the gremlins swapped them around. I’ll try what you said if we have another 2 page spread, thanks.
Lynda DiGregor, thanks, I’m glad you liked my photos. We were fairly close to the bears, but they were in an enclosed area on Grouse Mountain, I just tried to make sure I didn’t get the fence in the pics. I also have a pretty good zoom on my DSLR.
Here is my day 4 pages. Learning heaps, was great to know how to change the colour of the blue block. Struggled a bit with my photos because they are mostly landscape, so have adjusted the white frames a bit, but it’s great to know I can do that. I’ve also gone back and changed the colours in the previous pages to match these colours. Looking forward to tomorrow.
It’s so frustrating that when you upload, the photos show the opposite way round, they look so much better in the proper order so I’ve created a single page with the 600 size images, much happier with that!
I’m already struggling with time, but here is both my day 2 and day 3 efforts.
Well I’m back, and looking forward to this challenge, hopefully I will get enough time to finish this time. Always keen to learn. Here is my day 1 challenge, I did struggle with deciding which photo to use but I’m sure I can change things as we go along. I did try to change the colour of the frame, but for the life of me I couldn’t work out how to do it.
I’m on a roll now. Here is day 4. Wish I could find some bear paw prints to put on the background, think it would just finish it off. I used “Adventure is Calling” from Sweet Shoppe.
I’m running a bit late this time, but here is my day 3 photo. I have a gorgeous granddaughter who does calisthenics so have used a pic of her from last year’s solo competition. For most of the paper and elements I used “Reach for the Stars” from Sweet Shoppe. I really have forgotten heaps I learnt last time.
Hi everyone
I’m back too. Learnt so much last time but now I need a refresher to cement it in the brain!
Well I’ve had a go. So much to learn but it is fun.
Day 7, and while I’ve just basically copied the layout, I think I have used what we have learnt today. I know I have learnt heaps this week. I am “in to” Family History, and that seems to go hand in hand with scrapbooking, so now I’m planing on using my new skills to create some layouts to get printed into a book for the family. Thanks Cassel, I’ve had a ball.
@Annie Tobin, thank you for your lovely words and encouragement. I’ve had a great time during the Boot Camp, hopefully I’ll get lots of time to continue with it. I’ve loved everyone’s pages too, it’s amazing how everyone creates something different using the same tools.
Well Day 6 was quite a challenge for me, but I think I eventually got there. Found the pinking shears tool absolutely amazing. I’ve used a mixture of papers here. Really struggle to find papers and other elements that go with my photos. Anyway, here is my Day 6 effort.
Here is my day 5 photo, it’s my granddaughter Bella with her gorgeous little dog Alfie. I used the sample kit Soar and also the gold glitter. I realise that my lack of imagination limits my creations. I’m still loving seeing everyone elses creations.
Here is my Day 4 effort. I used the free Little Skipper elements, they seemed to match the colour of the pool water. Am learning heaps from this Bootcamp, really pleased I signed up.
Hi, my name is Jean. I’m new to digital scrapbooking and to Paint Shop Pro. I’m looking forward to learning heaps, and I love looking at everyone elses ideas. Here is my day 3 effort.
