For those who will read this, I discovered thanks to Carole what was the mistake I did. Instead of clicking directly on the script button, I opened first a new image, then clicked on the cass-Alpha-Maker, went on till the end and wondererd why I didn’t have all the characters I gave in at the beginning. I was so used to open first an image using the other scripts that I misunderstood it although I read the tutorial.
Alpha-Maker is really one of those wonderful scripts you like to go on playing with endlessly 🙂
Welcome Grace, you will meet really nice people and you get fantastic possibilities to learn every day something else and have fun, as Carole usually says :-)! Participating at the monthy webinars/master classes is one of the great possibilities.
See you around!
R = Revue de la presse is a french newspaper that exists in several languages, originally for students, the idea is to learn with articles in original language, vocabulary, exercices and much more
Yes, Carole, I prepared screenshots of the different steps and will sent them later per mail!
Beautiful Nemisis, I like your japanese/chinese background too!
Sorry Carole,
I would have written about the options before, but I was in a hurry suddenly, I had to go to work …and I was playing around with PSP before going… LOL
First of all I used 1000×1000 px, for another test 2000×2000 px, for the last one 3600×3600 px (upload here). No difference. Most of the time the same effect. Only 1 of 5 tests was successful.
Fonts for ex. Bauhaus 93, 100, Century Gothic, 128, Hobo, 128, thickness of outlines, the first was 4 (test 1) then 2, one time in order, another randomly, never irregular outline.
I thought initially the issue is using characters with figures together. But now here the uploaded image proves the contrary, this time created with PSP 2018, it should have been “Nathan” and I only get Nat and these errors.
O = Ouest-France, a french daily newspaper mainly in the regions of Brittany and Normandy
Thanks a lot, that was another really interesting subject, Carole, may be you could plan the same subject for the next webinar , as you did for the templates.
I was so curious that I tried out the alpha maker-script afterwards, (instead of going to bed ….. LOL, in Germany past midnight). Someone among the other participants asked how to go on with the characters and I answered, I think you moved them.
During my experiment I discovered that for example the number 1, trying several fonts, appears often just as a line, (do not know how to explain it exactly) and sometimes other numbers or characters are not shown completely but just a part of it. May be a problem if you choose outlines, thickness or order ?
Test 1 result: numbers 1 and 2, the 2 doesn’t appear completely
Test 2 result: number 1, then L and I, the character I doesn’t appear completelyBoth with PSP 2019. The font is century gothic here.
Cordial welcome from me too, Susie!
You try to migrate plugins from PSP X2 to PSP 2020? Not really sure, that it will work …
There is a YouTube-video called “Easily migrate PaintShop Pro content and plugins“, look at it, may it could inspire you!
As for the serial numbers, did you have a Corel account and registered the old version, you could find them there.
Or may be you saved old mails! Good luck!!Hello @All,
it’s fantastic to see so many new participants and thumbs up for the creative works all over the forum!!!
Great experiments Karon :-)!IP = Internationale Politik, a german magazine of the DGAP, German Society on Foreign Relations.
A lot of really cool works, plenty of so different techniques. WOW!!!
I was curious about the selective focus that Carole mentioned last week and followed the link to the tutorial on the blog. So I had to play a little bit and used the radial selection tool for the picture here.
Hello Mara,
welcome in the forum and many kind regards from Germany, where I live, to the beautiful Saskatchewan :-)!
A first, rather quick exercise. I tried to complete the glasses on the left side with the warp brush but PSP has frozen …
… and at least Day 1 and 2! It was my very first fly, discovering Italy, pasta and pizza, 2 meals I never loved before.
Really late for all these challenges but decided to place at least this one for outer space!
K = Kleopatra (this is really the name of an asteroid I found, I read this and that is interesting, it was already discovered in 1880 but the Arecibo observatory in Puerto Rico discovered in 2000 that this asteroid is bone-shaped)
I = Impact craters ( remains of collision between asteroid and meteorite)
We wait Annie :-)!!
@Lynda, Trish and everyone interested: just found this, will look over it a bit later.

For those who need an update in 2020, look at this:

Never was a scrapbooker before and found this campus looking for more and instructive tutorials. I really feel very comfortable at this place. Be sure you will learn a lot thanks to our fabulous teacher, find as well many scripts and much more and meet so nice and creative participants.
I just remembered this, if you love “crochet” you could find a digital version with scripts and tubes. Take a look on this page:
H = Helene, one of the 18 moons of Saturn
C = Chondrules, glassy spheres found in meteorites.
T = Tektite
(Explanation I found: “small, glassy material formed by the impact of a large body, usually a meteor or asteroid. Tektites are commonly found at the sites of meteor craters”)
H = Horsehead nebula (a dark nebula in the Orion constellation)
D = Deneb (brightest and supergiant star in the Cygnus constellation)
Z = Zeta Orionis (is a star at the eastern end of Orion’s belt )
@Bonnie: wonderful spectacle and great chance for you and friends to have had one of the best places!
Oh yes, Minka, I admire these astronauts for their courage and achievement, very temptating the idea of “taking a walk on the wild side”. I like the song but the way you put your dream in scene too. Thumbs up :-).
So just let’s dream on!!
X = X-Ray Star (celestial object that gives off x-rays as a major portion of its radiation)
O = Orbit
