Hello,
It has been awhile since I last posted anything. Once in awhile I go here to see the creations. I have been looking at old family pics. Our oldest turned 60 in December. I am surprised how good some of these pics look after working on them for awhile. They start as tiny slides. Steve, our youngest, was born in 1973. I am not totally satisfied with it, perhaps I will go back later to make improvements, like adding some elements.

Hi, I’m Henry, I’m not new, just a slow learner. I have taken a few scrapbooking courses and last year I tried to make a Calendar for 2021 on my own but did not get it done. So I will try again this year. Haven’t picked pics yet.
Hello All, When I see all those great looking layouts, I am a little reluctant to post mine, but I spent too much time on it to not post it. I will admit that I did not catch on how you did the background papers, so I just did it the usual way. I will go back and figure it out on a later date.
Hope you are having great day, Carole, Happy Birthday again.Carole, Further to my Day 1 submission. I was not sure how I would attach a double page,( you probably cover that in the following days) but after trial and error I started with a 3600×7200 canvas and tried to paste thr Left and Right pspimages to the canvas then it occurred to me that jpg images is what I use with my projects and Wala it worked or at least I think. It probably is different and I will learn. Henry
Hello, I redid my day 1 project. I realized after that I had completed half the assignment. Here is the completed work.
Hi all, I decided to do this challenge at the last minute so am behind a bit. I will try to present some crocheting and knitting my wife does for an organization called, “Angels Four Warmth”. The finished items are distributed to places and people in need.
I just did one of the two. – HenryHello, I’m sorry this last layout is so late. With a combination of personal and layout setbacks, it just took longer to get it done.
I only had this set of alpha on a sheet, the letter “L” is not on it so I used the “1”.
As you can see I doubled the shadow on the stitch strings to closer match the letters which I could not fix as per your video. I could not find a star nor a ribbon like yours that would match in with my layout.
As you can see I made some substitutions. I used paper and elements mostly from Pixel Scrapbook. They do have large selections of materials that I am sure I will use in the future.
I have been using old slides from the 60’s & 70’s which I scanned, I don’t know maybe 10 years ago.
Although I had some frustrations, I learned from them and am actually happy with the results.
I am enjoying (sometimes with a little envy) the layouts produced by fellow group members and I try to learn from them as well.
Be safe,
HenryHello
Carole, I went back and reviewed your suggestions, starting with the first module and corrected
items you pointed out, including the string in the 3rd module. I am not sure how I overlooked the string in this one. I also refined or tuned up some details and then re-saved, but did not repost.I have set my thumbnail to 200 and really like it especially for the small elements.

Hello all
In Module 4, I have tried to follow the model presented, most often I try to use paper and elements that fit my project using the procedures given, sort of following the model. I am learning, it sometimes takes several restarts, but that is what this is all about. Thank you, Carole. and members of this group, I learn from you as well. I like your layouts and get inspiration from them.
Paper and Elements
Buttons – PSJan2016, White paper – fire and ice, the small color rectangles – eyeinspire, colored buttons and doillie – fire and ice, letters – Wood Serif from Pixel Scrapper. Not sure on where the rest of material or elements used were from.
Till now it did not occur to me that people spent hours and materials to produce all of these papers and elements and have offered them free of charge so others can use them and make creations of their own.
I have collected these zip files from the time I first started with Bootcamp in 2019 and I have a folder for them. Unfortunately, I emptied the unzipped files into folders for different papers and elements, not paying attention to source, thinking more on convenience then responsible recognition of their source. I am sorry. I do appreciate very much the free use of these since 2019 and will try to give proper credit to the source in the future.
HenryGood Morning
I decided to rework my Module 3 project as per your suggestions and reset my picture and elements to make it look a little more balanced. It sure saves time when you duplicate your text and convert to raster. It was easy to just delete the raster layers and duplicate them.
I was not totally satisfied with the color of the Title or the comment, it was easier to do then I thought (I still have problems with the materials procedures). The shadow with the Title is basic paper preset but with the comment I used basic paper and reduced opacity to 30.Thank you Cassel for your help.
I enjoy looking at the projects posted, am a bit jealous of the imagination that goes into your work.
HenryHello All
My project Module 3. I enjoyed working on this one, a lot to learn. I started three different projects, to repeat the different procedures and also to decide on the project to post.
It is probably too busy but I like it.
HenryHello All
Here is my Screenshot for Module 3A. The reason you see a double picture is because I use two monitors. I tried taking a shot with the second monitor turned off but it still was included.
My day so far started with happily doing my thing, then turned to frustration. Than it turned out okay and had a cup of coffee. By the way, the pink cube is my script “Open as Layer”
HenryHello again
I am reposting my Module 2 project after I fixed the shadows on my banner. I find it hard to get sometimes to move items precisely where I want them.
HenryThanks Cassel – I will give it another shot. I missed the staple lesson, I could not find a staple in my elements file. I thought I had one from a different kit.
Hello
I just tried to post my Module 2 project and it is not showing up. What can I do to get it posted. Is it because I changed my password?Hello
Picture I will use for Module 2 Project. Our first grandson about 2yrs. My Title is
Wash & Rinse.
HenryHello, For the “OpenAsLayer-rename” script I used a pink cube. I see some Module 2 projects completed already, so I guess I better get busy.
HenryHello Again
I’m sorry, I must be blind. After I wrote that note about my project I scanned through the entries that others in the group posted and I came across a very familiar entry and I also saw your comment, thank you. I merged the Title into two different images but I did not think I had put shadows on them. HenryHello
I posted my finished Module 1C project, I think on Thursday the 4th or Friday morning, what happened to it?
Henry SchellenbergHi
With some trial, error and redo I have Module 1 project done. I have done a number of Bootcamps and always learned something, likewise with this and I am looking forward to the next module.
HenryHi this is Henry again. I was not sure how to post the before and after pictures, but obviously the wrong way. Here I am posting them on a canvass. Cassel, you are welcome to delete my first attempt.
Hi
Pictures I plan to use for my project. They are old, from the mid-70s and not that great looking anymore. We went on a three week holiday every year with our four children and the trip to the Fline Stones is still their favorite.
These are old slides that I scanned to my computer many years ago. I tried to clean them up and then resized them with the new A1 technology. The original size is 528×361. I resized them at 200 % to a finished size of 1056×723.
As you can see I am not very good at fixing pictures, I used Brightness and Contrast and the Fill Light and Clarity tools.
HenryHello Carole, I thought I had entered mine earlier but I don’t see it. I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada
Hello It has been a while since I was on the Forum I have posted to Scrapbook Bootcamp which I have taken a few times. I have had this Basic Scrap Course for awhile and fiddled around with it, but when this study was made available, it was an opportunity that I did not want to miss. It took me a while to get the Print Screen to work. So here it is. I like my workspace to be uncluttered and use two monitors. The second is always available for finding photos or refer back to the lesson. Very handy
Hello,
Can you believe it, I completed Project #5 on time. Mind you my wife has been a widow for the last ten days or so. I did most of my last two project by a lot of trial and error. I find this is how I learn. I could do with a new memory system but I guess this one will have to do. I like the merge feature, a valuable tool among so many yet to be discovered.
Thank you Cassel.
HenryHello,
This was a tough one for me. The only easy new thing for me was the “Eraser” tool. It took umpteen tries to get the “Magic Wand” to work. It would work in blotches until I changed the opacity to about 50%. “Drop Shadow” feature is also tricky for me, your numbers don’t work on most of my layers, but I am working on it. So, along with the frustrations, I am enjoying this. As you can see I got a little carried away with the enhancements.
I enjoy looking at all the great projects, they inspire me.
HenryHello,
I thought I had posted my Project #3 but as I scroll through, I do not see it. I must have missed the submit step.
I had a hard time matching paper and materials with my pictures and I always have trouble with the materials palate for colors, but I will eventually get the hang of it.
My grandson has many talent, like music, but sports is not one of them.
I am having fun.
HenryHello
Today I’m posting my second project, Nelson, our grandson, was special in many ways. He was born with a disease that increasingly crippled his body, not his mind, he was gifted in so many ways. Although he needed total care as far as physical needs, he never complained, was cheerful and encouraging those around him. He blessed so many people during his short life and we miss him.
HenryOn July 16th I posted my first project but called it Project #3. It should have said Day Project #1. Sorry about that.
HenryHi, after a few tries, the project #3 is complete. I am looking forward to completing the rest of them.
It is only now that I am uploading the project that I notice that it is pretty small. Hope that is ok.
