I just tried it quickly to get to that step and I did not have issue.
I figured you couldn’t say anything if you knew, I just wanted to know if you did know! LOL
Carole, any idea of what might be coming in the next version? I was reading the “wish list” on the forum earlier and it seemed like most of it was things I’d never use. Nothing in 2022 intrigued me to buy it since I’m a pretty basic user of the program. I only bought 2021 because I was having issues with X8 on my old computer. LOL
I think in the past the new versions are usually released in August. On a PSP Users forum associated with Corel, they always post new threads for “what do you like about new version” and “wish list for what you would like to see in the next version”. Those have always been posted in August or late July.
Personally, I usually wait until the next version has been out for several months before I buy it (if I do). With Corel having constant sales on PSP 2022, I’m guessing the next version will be coming by the end of the summer.
So can you use this to do screenshots of other things besides PSP? For instance, I have done screenshots of YouTube live videos (a college football game livestream) then opened it in PSP to edit. Could I use PSP to do this?
L is for Library. Being the county seat, the county library main branch is in my town. There are smaller branches in a few other towns but all are run by the county out of the main branch. Also, a little history. The site where the building is located is across the street from the county courthouse. And, at one time, a church was located on this site. My church. I was baptized in that church. The current church building was built in the early 1960’s and the old building was torn down and the library was built in 1967 and opened in 1968. The library had previously been located beside the former high school several blocks away. In 2018 for the 50th anniversary of the building, major renovations were done to the building, both inside and out.
I have been using the inner bevel more after seeing it being used on other things besides frames but don’t remember where I saw it. Sorry!
For example, I used an inner bevel on the title of this layout (Alice) instead of a drop shadow. And, on the April layout, I used it on the triangles instead of a drop shadow. I’m really liking this effect. I usually use Bevel #1 or #2 and vary the width from anywhere between 8 and 12 depending on what I’m using it on.
I’ve had several over the years, all Wacom brand. The one I used the most was 10 years ago and I used it with my laptop when I would go to scrapping retreats. It was a tablet that had a pen and a mouse.
I did buy one again last fall but then starting having computer issues so never got back into using it. I haven’t installed it on this computer yet. Probably should but I haven’t been using PSP that much lately and that’s why I got it.
It does take getting use to though, at least it did for me.
Late afternoon like 5 ET is good for me. Mornings aren’t, especially on a Sunday because of church. I do another live session once a month with a designer and hers are at 9 p.m. ET. on Thursdays. Always a good way to end the day watching her scrap even though she uses photoshop.
K is for Kelley Subdivision aka the area of town where my parents purchased a lot and built a house in 1964. The house that I still live in 58 years later.
I decided to use this sketch to document the trade-in of my little purple car. Papers and elements are from a kit by BellaGypsy called Let It Go (available at The LilyPad digital store). The “Goodbye” is a journal card from a Project Mouse Kit “See Ya Real Soon” also available at The LilyPad. Font is Yanks Hand which I use on every layout for journaling. I also used a retired background mask element from Scrapping With Liz on the plaid paper.
J is for Edward Jones Investments. My parents first invested with the local advisor in the 70’s and I started with him in the late 80’s. The original advisor retired and sold his office to another advisor and I really like him. He has the same philosophy as the original advisor. Sadly, the original advisor passed away unexpectedly a few months after he retired not long after I did this layout! Because of both my parents investments and mine, I have a nice retirement fund of my own. So Edward JONES is important to me!
I understood what you said but I don’t have that issue in 2021.
For instance, the flower needed to do the eyelet tutorial is located in Corel_11/Corel_11_02 when I look in windows explorer. My file location only points to the Corel_11 folder. However, under folder options on the location screen “Use sub folders” is checked. I have the flower in my present shapes when looking through them.
Is the sub folder option checked in your locations preferences?
They can be copied. I have copies on several EHD’s as backup. As I said earlier I found some of the stuff I was missing on one of those EHD’s and copied it to the Program Data folders.
Thank you!
I’ve saved a copy to my computer for future reference!
I got X2 in 2008 so that was when it first changed for me. I used PSP 9 until then. I tended to not upgrade every year but every 2 to 3 versions. Went from X2 to X4 to X7 to X8 and finally to 2021. I might have upgraded the JASC versions every year because so much was being added each time. I think I started with V4.
As for loading older versions, sure you can. I have PSP8 installed on my computer (the old JASC version!). But the best way would be to install that old program and then copy the supplies that come with it, and paste them into a “master” folder. That way, over time, you might only need to point PSP to ONE location instead of multiple, AND it will allow you to uninstall those older versions if you don’t use them otherwise.
I’ve got a PSP 9 CD still! Haven’t had it on a computer for a lot of years, but I just can’t seem to get rid of it. Nostalgia reasons.
So do you put things into the various folders in the master folder. This would have been so easy with the old folder naming conventions but confusing with the folder names with numbers. I am down to 2 locations in my file locations. I basically use the Corel# folders but if I download something and put it in the Documents folder, it is available since I also point to it.
Susan, In the past when I’ve had issues with shapes and brushes not showing up, it was because they were in a folder that PSP didn’t look in to find them. I don’t know when but at some time in the past Corel changed the naming structure of the folders when installing the program. I mean who know that “Corel_11” is for Preset Shapes. I sure didn’t. The naming structure used to just be “Preset Shapes” or “Brushes” or whatever!
Under the File Menu, go to Preferences then File Locations. There you can check to see where PSP is looking for the files. At one time stuff was located in the Documents folder under Corel but now it is in Program Data under Corel. So since I have just copied my Documents folder to each new computer, I have added that location under the File Locations (you can have as many locations as you want).
Because of your problem, I just looked at mine and found that the Content from my X8 never got transferred to this new computer. It is now!
SUCCESS!!!!
All 7 links work.
All of the images link to the basic scrap course. All lesson links except the template ones go to the correct lesson.
No change. Also, I had logged out to see if I could even get to the pages and I couldn’t so I had to log back in. So even a fresh log in didn’t change it.
Yes, I’m logged in. Didn’t think I could get to that page if I wasn’t since it is Diamond.
Glad I could help you. I’m guessing because you are admin, you see something different than the normal user.
And this is what shows up on the masks workshop.
This is what I see.
Shows promo/template-workshop/lesson-1/ for me and takes me to the page that I’ve had all along.
Carole, I don’t know what browser you are using but try this: go to one of the lessons for Masks Workshop; right click anywhere on the page and find “view source”. This should open another tab in your browser (works for me in both chrome and edge). When you do that you should have a page with line numbers listed on the left. You probably won’t know what most of the stuff in the document is. Scroll down until you get to around line number 690 to 695 or so. You should see the text that is on the lesson page.
Now do the same thing for the template page. When you get to line 695, none of the text for the lesson shows up.
Nope, same as before. Nothing showing in the source.
Nope, still nothing there in the html source code for all the template lessons.
Carole, I used a program to do my web pages back in the 90’s but it helped to know how to code html to debug when there were problems. Like I said, I just know basics but it can be helpful like in this case when I can see that a whole section of information is missing.
I get the same thing. It goes to the link but only the header and lesson title show up. I checked the first 3 lessons and they all do the same thing.
I have limited knowledge of html coding so looked at the page source for template 1 and masks 1. The information on the template 1 page is completely missing! It jumps from the graphic and Lesson 1 info to the footer info for the page for the template page.
Carole… there is approximately 50 lines of source on the masks page for the lesson info. Lines 693 to 752. The line “Lesson 1” is on line 691. The footer starts on line 755.
For the template lesson 1, the footer starts on line 704. The line “Lesson 1” is on line 690. Essentially all the lesson info is missing. (Lesson 3 is the same way).
Guess it pays to have learned how to code html 20 years ago. I at least know the basics!
This is a real old layout of my father and his siblings. I did this in 2008 and there is so much that could be fixed on it but it just shows how I have grown in my scrapping. My father is one of 17. 2 died as infants before he was even born. A brother was killed in WWII before the last child was even born. Grandma was pregnant when they got word of the death. So I have only ever known 13 of the kids. The first picture was taken in 1938 before the last 4 were born. The most recent photo (bottom right) was taken at a funeral for a brother in 2007. He was the 3rd to pass. In 2022 only 5 of the children are still here with us.
I is for Interstate. I-75 specifically. My town has 3 exits on I-75. The main exit (middle one) is to a main road into town that locals lovingly call “Hamburger Row” (actually Bellefontaine St.) since that is where the fast food restaurants were built along with other restaurants. There are some motels in this area as well. Opposite side of interstate at this exit is a truck stop that has been around for longer than interstate. That’s because it was essential to the truckers that traveled state route 33 which runs south of town. The exit south of town is actually to state route 33 which had several exits into town as well. The last exit brings you into the northeast section of town. Depending on which direction I am traveling on I-75, I can use any of the exits. Although I do tend to stay away from “Hamburger Row”. The other two are more convenient for me.
I quite often describe my town as being at the “intersection of I-75 and St Rt 33”.
