Dear Cassel
I have learned a number of things during the bootcamp such as:
– the constraints of trying to resize a file in which I have put text within a selection,
– the adding of drop shadows in appropriate places to give a feeling to the final image
– the manipulation of text to make interesting titles and
the use of Guides and the Snap-to-guide feature
I was also pleased to browse through your Blogs and Scripts.
I found the “Open As Layer” script and used it extensively during this bootcamp.
Thanks for the solution to my disappearing text. I’ve learned something else!!
And yes, I had forgotten to add the shadows that time.
You would think that, as I have been retired for a long time, I would have lots of free time……. but the reverse is true.
I am doing things now which I would never have considered while I was working. In addition to gardening and other household chores, yesterday I spend a couple of hours playing bridge on-line with some friends and then watched a two and a half hour opera and also about an hour facetimeing with a grandchild. He was playing some of his classical violin pieces he was learning for his university.
Thanks for your time. I learned quite a few things about PSP during this bootcamp. I have used PSP for quite a few years but primarily to process photographs prior to printing or paining (I also use Corel Painter to do digital fine art).
Day 11 Project 5
The photo was taken in Bulgaria during our river cruise in September 2009.
I don’t know if we will ever go on another cruise!!!!!
The paper and elements were from Rush River kits.
WOOPS!
When I resize the image the text disappears!!!
I did it twice with different fonts.
Day 9 Project 4 Busy Bees
Here is my result for this Busy Bees project.
You say that the kit you used in the video was no longer available but I have it so I used it.
My middle brother, who is shown standing with me in one photo and alone in from of his cottage in another photo, has built himself a farm in New Brunswick (which looks like a village). He loves building things. He has about eight buildings now. The main cottage (shown), a bunk house to house visiting family members, a tractor shed, a workshop, a joccizzi, a covered eating area and a couple of others whose functions I have forgotten. My younger brother is shown on the tractor.
The three graphics which did not come from the dedesmith_6Bes kit are CC0 from Pixabay.
Project 3 Day 7 Friendship Revised
Revising took more time that I’d thought because I had put the shadow on the same layer so when I tried blurring it it screwed up my shadow.
Thanks, Carole, for your feedback about my day 7 offering.
I realize that I should have stepped back to get a better overall look at it.Looking at that text, I can see that the shadow detracts from the clarity.
Another problem is the contrast between the font and the somewhat patterned background.
I’m going to go back and blur that background and lighten it. I’ll also darken the font.
I started doing that but ran out of time. I’ll finish it tomorrow.
Thsnks for your observations.
Glenson
Project 3 Day 7 Friendship
I have lots of photos of my friends & I but we are all just sitting around drinking beer or tea (coffee) and solving the problems of the universe so I started looking at the photos for my wife’s friends.
Here We have a Christmas party for the Canadian Federation of University Women of Kanata (a suburb of Ottawa). They allowed us men to come!!!
The members are reading a skit they called The Cratchit’s Christmas Dinner. They seem to have a lot of fun.
Day 5 Project 2 The Watchers
I used a background from a Kimberly Creations Kit but changed its colour to better match my photo. The photo is one my wife took on a trip to Nova Scotia in 2006. The clip art is CC0 from Pixabay.
Day 3 Project 1
Three men in a Tub.
My photo of my two brothers (left and centre) and the partner of my sister on the right. They are in a hot tub at my brother”s hobby farm.
I used a few CC0 images from Pixabay.
Hi Cassel
You asked how I got the toast effect on my bread. Basically, using PSP 2020 I made a selection of the bread using the Magic Wand from the Toolbar. Seeing that this only selected the center of the bread, I expanded the selection by using Selection / Modify / Expand and added 10 pixels so that the whole of the bread was selected. I then added a new layer above the bread and chose the Airbrush from the Toolbar and set this to about maximum size. Choosing a mid brown colour, I tapped within the selection. I then changed to a darker colour and tapped again. I liked that effect.
I’ve been a digital artist for about six years using Corel Painter so I knew about layers and airbrushes.
I like brown toast.
Hi,
I have used PSP for a few years for prepping photos to be painted but have never done any scrapbooking.
I’ll look through my photos once I have an idea of what I should do!
My Snow Queen for Day 5.
Mauris in Rotarua New Zealand.
My wife and I cruised from Vancouver, to Hawaii, American Samoa, Figi, New Caledonia, Australia and around NZ. We were in Rotarua NZ on November 4, 2017. The four people are from a photo of us at a Mauri village. The small figure and the background are from the public domain Wikimedia Commons.Day 3 image; Snorkeling in Hawaii
Here is my image for Day 2.
I took a hint from Sue Thomas and used a Welsh theme.
A virtual bag of gummies to anyone who can guess who is in the photo.H Sue Thomas

Hi
I followed the instructions on the Day 1 email and produced the attached image. I learned a few things about PSP features.
I have never done any scrapbooking however and I have no idea what i should do next.
I have just registered to see what I can do.
