We had a great visit yesterday with Noah, my third great-nephew. His family was visiting from Texas. The tent has dinosaur scenes inside and out. My niece said that it is his favorite place to read and watch how-to LEGO videos on Youtube.
Back in my day, we had a blanket draped over two chairs so I was a bit jealous of a cool tent like that.
Carole – RE: Day 6 … did you use the linoleum background as an overlay on the cat photo too? I used a mask with a light watercolor brush. It took about 3 clicks of the brush to get enough of the picture to come through and then the opacity was lowered to bring out the texture.
Thanks for another great workshop. It was fun, interesting, and educational.
Each spring, I pick up a couple of baskets of hardy flowers for the front. The cat in this project is River.
The picture used as the overlay is from Pixabay and the font is Faithfull from Creative Fabrica.
Something totally off the wall. It’s a tribute to the 1958 cult sci-fi/horror classic, The Attack of the 50 ft. Woman.
My one-year-old niece wanted to explore the cats’ scratching house. She got in OK. Getting out was problematic. The cats took it in stride.
We don’t get much snow here, so it’s always a special occasion. My neighbor and her senior dog, Beauty, take three walks a day around the neighborhood, without fail. Beauty always walks on her companion’s left side.
This is something silly using an extra template from Day 1. My project for that day featured one of my cats, Rudy. My sister gave me a t-shirt with this graphic. She got the idea when I put Santa hats on him and River, my other cat.
It’s sort of an homage to Warhol. Rudy is not new to pop art. The other portrait was created using a Cassel script. Again, something silly.

River decided that she would repurpose the old wreath.
I used a different mask from the same collection that better suited the photo. There needs to be a warning on the kaleidoscope feature. Either that or a timer that limits the user to 20 minutes.
Carole – the nature photos are courtesy of a college friend who lives in Tennessee. My photographic specialty is “The Blur.” I have a large portfolio of amazing blurs. I’m thinking about pitching an exhibition idea to a local gallery.

“It is in their eyes that their magic resides.”
Rudy is my blue-eyed cat. He is blind in his right eye which has never slowed him down.
Ann – Thank you for posting the screenshot. This problem popped up for me again. Looking at your toolbar, I realized that the second half of mine was missing which means the options I needed weren’t available.
Using RESET ALL in the TOOLBARS tab of the Customize option and restarting PSP, the toolbar now looks like the one in your screenshot.
Linda – As mentioned by others, one solution is to resize from a JPG. Apparently, there is a quirk with vector layers. Carole had also suggested that the vector layer be duplicated and then converted to a raster. She can give more details, but that’s another way to avoid losing your text.
Carole – Thank you for a fun camp. I learned a few new things, relearned a few forgotten things, and used a few things I learned from other challenges. One of the best features of the camp is the opportunity to enjoy the work of fellow campers. Each post is another chance to be inspired and learn.
This is my great-niece, Amelia, after her first birthday party in September.
Carole – Re: the previous project, I did use a slight shadow on the title. I liked the font, but I felt it needed a little boost. I also tried to create “realistic” shadows on the banner using tips from one of your tutorials. I still need work on that.
Project 4 features my mother’s canning which goes back to her childhood. Growing up in the depression, canning and freezing food for the winter was a necessity. It also got us through some lean times during my childhood.
It’s been a couple of years since she had to retire from canning. She turns 83 in a few months.
The kit I used is a collaborative bundle called At the Farm Market from GoDigitalScrapbooking.com. This was a “bonus” for orders of $10 or more which is easy to do on $2 Tuesdays.

The photos are more from my college friend’s backyard.
Ann: Now that you say that, I seem to remember that tip. I’ll go back and refresh my memory. It’s one of those things where you go, “I know I should know this, but …”
Thanks!
The picture is another one from my college friend. She gets some of the best photos in her backyard. This one makes me laugh.
Carole – When creating the frame around the picture, I used a selection of the photo and expanded it by several pixels. I always got rounded corners for the expanded selection. It looked OK in this instance, but I need to figure out how to get sharp corners. THANKS.

Randy – I had the same reaction when I participated in Boot Camp two years ago. It was my first and I felt lost. This series focuses on the basics to help you get more comfortable. Approach the projects with that in mind and you will be fine.
BTW – I’m still in awe of the work of the more experienced participants. This time around, I admire it and take notes of ideas I might try another time.
The photograph was taken by a college friend. The papers and elements were drawn from many different sources. The font is Rachel Brown Display Font from Creative Fabrica.
Carole – Thank you for the tip on cloning from a different picture. I had no idea that was possible.

The sandwich is for my mother. It has lots of stuff layered in between two pieces of bread, including extra onions. She likes sweet onions, particularly Vidalia from Georgia when available.
I had forgotten about being able to drag individual layers from one file to another. I usually work with tabbed documents which is a holdover from using a browser.
Sorry to hear that COVID is still wreaking havoc. It’s a stark reminder that we aren’t done with it. Cindy, best wishes for a quick and full recovery.
I wanted to join Bootcamp to rediscover things that I may have forgotten or that I missed the first time.
It has been a pleasure looking through everyone’s posts – a beautiful wedding, stunning landscapes, delightful grandchildren, and, of course, furry friends.
Thanks to Carole for another fun and interesting challenge.
It’s fun to see so many animal lovers in the group.
Originally, I had two pictures of footprints in the snow set aside for Day 5. However, the little butterfly in the layout turned my thoughts elsewhere. The pictures are from Pixabay.
Four generations.
My great-niece, Maggie, and her baby sister, Amelia.
In June, my niece made reservations for an end-of-summer beach getaway in early August. She didn’t anticipate Hurricane Ida which churned up beaches a couple of hundred miles away.
This is the face you make when you have to tell the three excited kids that the beach is closed.
This is my newest great-niece Amelia at her first birthday party in September. She took her first steps a couple of days before. She quickly learned to run and darted from guest to guest during the gathering. Most of the pictures of her from that day are blurs.
Daphne – I get most of my fonts from CreativeFabrica.com. They have free fonts and $1 specials.
There is also a helpful Resource section on the Campus – https://scrapbookcampus.com/resources/
I am finally wrapping things up. Here are a few pages that are representative of the whole calendar. My intention is to have it printed as a wall calendar.
The focus is visual to help my mom quickly recognize upcoming birthdays/holidays. The pictures give her an easy way to remember whose birthday “month” it is.
This calendar is for my mom. The pictures are of the person(s) who have a birthday that month, in this case, my middle niece Heather.
The open space on the left will list the birthdays and anniversaries of family, cousins, friends, etc., as well as the holidays. I will put icons on the calendar and next to the listings. The challenge will be October when there are 8 birthdays plus a holiday and Halloween!
The font for the month is Beauty Florist from Creative Fabrica.
