Day 11, Page #5
This was a lot of fun. I liked so many things I learned, especially selecting the area for my text, merging layers, making letters from paper color.
I used elements and papers from a couple of the sample kits you provided links to: Eyeinspire and Nellie Bell’s
Day 9 Project #4
I had some challenges working on this – not because of the project, but because of weird things happening with PSP. I’m running version 2020. In the case of selecting the the edge, using Opacity, I did exactly the same thing as in the video, but it would not treat the selection as one area. I tried multiple times. I found 2 things that proved satisfactory alternate solutions: 1) if I selected the outside, rather than the inside of the photo 2) instead of Opacity with 0 tolerance, I used All Opaque for match mode. The latter option seemed to work perfectly.
The other issue I had, I can’t explain at all. All of a sudden, I couldn’t select layers. I couldn’t see my layers pallete, and nothing was acting or appearing properly. I ended up closing PSP then restarting…no change. Then I rebooted and restarted PSP…no change. So I reset all my preferences to default and everything functioned properly after that. (I then went and re-updated my preferences and it all seems ok since.)
All of the troubles were yesterday and I decided to stop working on it last night. I finished it today. I like what I learned. I like adding the border to the photos, rather than having to create a new layer for each paper matte. I like the fun lettering possibilities also.
My digital kits is Dahlia (April 2016) from Club Scrap.
That was a very educational project. I was happy to learn about the fill option, snap to grid, and copying text.
In all of my pages, I have used Club Scrap digital kits. For this project, I used the Hopes kit (from June of 2013).
Instead of using sand or something like that, I used a digital stamp – so it’s ink.
Day 5
Here’s my 2nd scrapbook page. I decided that I would use this workshop opportunity to make pages from our cats. Although we take a lot of photos of them, they don’t often get honored so prominently on scrapbook pages. (I normally do the old fashioned paper pages.)
I really enjoyed learning the shortcuts for several functions.

Day 3
I’m running a little behind, but that lesson was great. It clarified and simplified a lot of things for me. 🙂

I’m having my sandwich for dinner
Hello! I’m happy to be here and looking forward to starting at the beginning and learning a few things. I’ve managed for years to do basic things with my photos using very basic software. I’ve tried with earlier versions of PaintShopPro and PhotoShop, to figure out how to use it, but I’ve ended up intimidated and frustrated. I’m hoping this bootcamp will change that.
