I was lucky to receive some bows and braids from Cassel recently so thought since I worked late and get to go in later tomorrow I would play with them a bit. I did get one image completed. I am tired and will be so glad when April 15th and tax season ends. And yes it is snowing here tonight.
I think I have done the obvious for this challenge, but I love this picture of our relatives.
After 8 years of studying the piano, this was the night of my final recital. It seems I suddenly discovered boys and put my foot down about practice, practice every day much to my Mom’s chagrin.
This color I really like too.
Trish: Wow You just blew my mind with the gals in the chorus. All I could see in my minds eye was a giant rooster trying to tell them how to do a high note. lol Thanks for giving me a bit of humor today!!
ANNIE-I have the feeling I hav ebeen there before. It is such a beautiful scene and you did really made it pop for me. Thanks for all you do. I so enjoy your work.
Very Pretty and makes me hungry Trish
CASSEL:
Sometimes you are just way to kind to us folks in the dark about things. Templates always scared me even on the job but that explanation that you provided to me set me on fire to get one done.
They do not scare me any more.

Hi Cassel, Annie, Trish, Cristina and Jnet. You all have been realty busy already this month and what excellents things to take the time to peruse. Ya;ll are fantastic, fantabulous, and lots of fun to be around here on campus.
Now that I have buttered you all up. so to speak, I am going to cheat a wee bit and post my Basic Scrap Class Module five here as well so I have something posted for theme of the month. I just hate when work interferes with fun, don’t you?
This was an Easter plant delivery in 1993. Last spring I put it outside and lordy look what it did!!

In Jasic version 9 and the very first corel version 10:
When I input text(e.g. name etc,)a layer called Vector with a sublayer showing the text appears in the layers palette. If you right click on the text sublayer you get a menu with these choices:
Cut, Copy, Paste, Clear, Select, Align object, distribute object, Make object same size, convert text to curves, convert text to path, create raster selection. As to the drop shadow, go to effects, 3d effects, drop shadow, a window advises conversion to raster, click ok and drop shadow window opens, apply the shadow of your choice.
I just can’t stop clicking on the sublayer which is not there now to start the process. This means I have messed up a layer that is not a sublayer and I end up starting all over again. The properties window in PSP 2020 is something that I am not familiar with yet

Level adjustments was something new to me and I will not forget it any time soon. I did try to change the alphas using various means to no avail. I was convinced hue and saturation was the key. That would have worked if all the alphas were of the same color. Magic fill is a joy to use and got rid of the darn cable box out in front of the house. A pity that it does not work in real life. I have used crop, duplicate, move and pick a lot in the past so it was kind of an old hat but still fun. I can not seem to break the habbit of vector text and shadows in Jasic’s version 9 and Corel’s version 10. I plan to work with that a while tomorrow to get into the swing of this way of doing vector text. I also hope to get some time to change my presets in 3D shadows. Just keep pointing out my problems Cassel and I will try to amend them.

I am very pleased that there is a way to salvage old holiday photos. Bless You Cassel.

Bootcamp Day 7 Continued:
After you comments about missing shadows, I went back and took a look at what I had done. I had made a very dumb mistake trusting the Coral Auto Preserve feature. I had done the shadows on everything and did one selection on a layer when the electricity did and up and down in the neighborhood. Our computers did a nose dive. After awhile we could see again and turned on our computers. I opened PSP and then my file. It was gone! I then opened theAutopreserve fo;e and there it was, so I opened that one. It looked identical to what I had been doing so I just continued on my merry way.
Then when I started my merged layer of Trixie with wall etc , this what I discovered.
It is not easy to clear away from two crooked pieces, but you will see they did have a drop shadow, just not where I thought I had placed it.
Please learn of using from the auto save to unhide all layers and check them carefully. I spent most of this evening using the selections and the delete tools. I tried to get the freehand selection to work but it must be different.
So here is my new final day 7 submission.
Bootcamp Day 7:
This was a hard one for me until I gave up the initial layout I had in mind. Cassel, I had done cut and paste text a lot in my life time, but I really had to fight my way through it. It got me so mad I had to do it twice. Once while watching the video and again on my own.
PS-It’s been a long day with Tax season warming up. I do want to take your next class after tax season slows down here in the states. My sincere thanks for all your help and guidance thru this bootcamp. It was a lot of fun!!
I do not know if any of you ever tried taking a stained glass window pattern and turned it into a paint and texture painting. It does take awhile and I always have one sitting on my back burner to work on occasionally when I am in a blue funk type day.
As Annie says take a peek ya’ll
Lyn Lou:
Thank you so very much for my having a better understanding of the differences in regards PSP filters. . I now have all my filters in two different folders on 2 different drives. It only took me a few dozen hours, but each is verifed to work and not slam shut any of my programs.
The links you included were of great help too.
May all good things pour down upon your helpful self. 🙂
Bootcamp Day 6:
Instead of one of the papers I used a gradient in sunburst mode via flood fill tool into a rectangular selection. I believe that this provided a unique spot for photo titles in this setup.
Yes she does have them. They are of good German stock. Sadly the breed is kind of messed up in this country. That is why the next page should be about her flight to here in the states to be with me. To this day she can tell the difference of the military vs the commercial airliner. She always looks up at the sound of a commercial jet and we are just a few miles from the Oceania Naval airbase full of fighter jets who seem to be constantly training.
