Sue, lovely work, and what a great idea of using a preset shape of a butterfly to wrap your text.
Your quote “Appreciate all the small things in life” is my credo, my friend… In the end, those “small things” are not so small at all. <3
Sheila, sorry to hear about your fall and I hope everything is ok with you. Take care! <3
Wow, there is so much to take in after I haven’t been here for a while… As Gerry said, I also traveled, learned about some family history, recipes, carving, garden… you name it! … The contribution of each one is what makes all the challenges so interesting… I am inspired and also learn from all of you… I thank Carole, Val, and Fiona for mentioning me in your comments.
I stopped working on my layouts, as good weather, going out, and other things came in between, but I will finish the other pages and probably tweak some I have already done, as I usually do.
Like Annie, I am also learning scripting… a totally new experience, and it is already fun… So let’s see when I will be pulling my hair! 🙂
Hope to see all of you next time/challenge! Best wishes
Hi Deana and Annie 🙂 Nice work!
Yes, Annie, I am sure this scripting will keep us on our toes. We are just starting; by the end of Module 5, we will be pulling our hair in despair, LOL.
Hi Deana, didn’t you receive today the email for Lesson 01? If you didn’t, try to contact Cassel.
Here is my Homework-Lesson01…I am having fun with this course.
I am posting only Test02 and Test03 scripts, as Test01 was the red rectangle.
The result of the Test02 script was supposed to be like the Test03 is, with 3 different colors… But when I played the script, all objects had the same last color that I applied for the square… Then, I remember that I had not checked the “Save Materials” box … I recorded it again, and it worked as I planned.
I already realize how many details are sometimes overlooked, and we are just starting! 🙂
Hi Ian,
I am having the same issue, and I am sure Carole will correct the glitch asap.
Sue, you mentioned you had problems creating a text.
“Carole, when I went to create the text for today’s challenge, I was unable to see the text as I was typing. Only when I clicked to accept it I could see what I had written. I closed down PSP, reopened it, and all was well all again. I’m wondering if the line spacing wasn’t anything I did, but something in PSP (Text). ”
I experience this here and there since PSP2019. Most of the time, it happens when I use a new font, but it is not something I can reproduce on demand. Anyhow, I got used to it and continue writing…
Here is my Day 4.
I tried hard but couldn’t find any photos that would fit the mask shape… I even tried to rotate the template, but I wouldn’t say I liked it. So, this is what I came up with…
Again, I used a photo as the background, changed the blend mode to Luminance, and lowered the opacity to about 30%. Finally, to fill the spaces for the photos, I selected each photo shape from the original picture and promoted it to a new layer.
P.S. I will tweak Day 4 and do what Carole suggested to Ann, two-color text. I was in a rush to finish and post the layouts, but tomorrow I will have more time to play with PSP. 🙂
Karon, thank you so much for your kind comment on my layouts. Very much appreciated. <3 …Good to see you posting your lovely work again.
I love to see everyone’s take on this challenge. So much creativity!
Hello everyone!
I am also in and looking forward to learning new things. 🙂
Here are my Day 2 and 3 layouts.
For day 3, I used a photo as the background, changed the blend mode to luminance, and the opacity to around 35.

Beautiful the new layouts posted. So much inspiration!
Hi Carole, the only text I added was the title and Special Edition…Everything else was part of the photo I took inside the store, where those traditional fish cakes were being sold.
MoniqueN and Ann, thank you very much for commenting on my layout.
I am in awe! Look at all those wonderful and unique magazine covers… This challenge has started at a high level.
There are already too many to mention individually, so…
Congratulations, …. ! (read your name here) 🙂
Annie, another example of your artistic work. Really beautiful.
I have almost finished the process of copying almost everything from one older laptop to a newer one. It is a lot of work, as some of you have also experienced not long ago.
I’ve noticed that the colors I see on one laptop are not the same I see on the other… The same color can look different, sometimes darker or lighter. Before, I never had the opportunity to have laptops side-by-side and compare the same layout.
Ann, very nice layouts. Well done.
Annie, like you, I love the color palette, and I love, love your layout. Beautiful work.
Good morning, Sue. 🙂
Thank you for your comment. It is very much appreciated. <3
I did use the instant effects tool, as I have also used it for 2019 Publish it Challenge... I don’t use this tool very often, so I saw again an opportunity to do it… Of course, I knew what was coming, so I started yesterday to create the page.
Sue, temperatures over there are scorching hot. 🙁 No fun at all… It’s hard on humans, vegetation, and animals.
Take care, my friend!
Here is my Day 1… I am going photos that I didn’t use for the Travel Tale Challenge.
I used the Gemstone 40% Instant Effect on the photo and added a bar code (Creative Scrap tutorial) to the cover.

Art, another great page to showcase your other hobby. Well done.
Ann, really gorgeous photo. I love flowers and sitting on the couch, I can see the railing planters with colorful flowers on the balcony.
Beautiful work, Corrie, and the photos are gorgeous… It comes in handy to have quick pages, and they also serve as inspiration to create our own.
Dear Annie, thank you so much! Your comments are always very much appreciated, my friend! <3
Dear Corrie, thank you so much for your kind comment! It is very much appreciated. <3
Sorry to hear about your husband getting ill before the trip and that he cannot travel anymore. As my mother-in-law always tells us: “Enjoy while you can”…We are well aware that life can change in a split of a second.
Last year, we were planning to go back and get to know the North, Porto, and surroundings, but that was not possible, of course. And although both of us are fully vaccinated, I don’t feel comfortable yet traveling.
Portugal has become a tourist destination, and one can see/hear tourists from all over. In the South, Algarve, the British are the majority since ever. At the hotels, living there during winter, having their local places to eat, and even free newspapers at bigger supermarkets… But you also see many motor homes from France, Netherlands, etc…
Maybe one day you can plan a trip there, as it’s also not far from where you live. 🙂
My dear friend, Sue, thank you ever so much! Your kind comment does means a lot to me! <3
Thank you, Carole! I know you deal with so many different things at the same time (sometimes I wonder how you manage it) that I didn’t want to bother you with this minor thing. 🙂
Update: I also used Cassel’s Lifted Photo Script!

Well, it happened again. Once and a while, when I edit a post, it disappears… Sometimes, it reappears, and then there are two posts if I repost. Anyway, I will write it again.
I am late, but I want to acknowledge all the lovely and creative layouts added to this challenge. Every page is unique and a source of inspiration. Great work, Everyone!
Hi Lynda, I hope that you are feeling better by now! We are missing you here. 🙂
A few days ago, I finally finished the layout for this challenge. It is a first that took me so long, but many things were going on, and I didn’t have much time to work on it.
Credits:
I used Marisa Lerin Day4 layout.
Background paper: PixelScraper 2019Feb blog train from Rush Ranch -“A Walk in the Wild ” – “rr_feb19_wildside_solid18”
Edge Trims: Solid Color —- PixelScrapper – Melo Vrijhof “ps_melo-vrijhof_162542_textures-painted-paper2-paint-paper-08_cu” —- HG Designs – “hg-cu-messyheartsoverlay” – and played with the Blend Mode.

Sue, beautiful work with the intertwined text! You not only create great layouts but also fill them with lots of information. 🙂
Ann, beautiful picture of Logan; he is adorable!
Helen, nice tags! I still have to install my PSP2022. Right now, I am in the process of changing laptops, and it takes time until I have everything the way it should. My older one is giving me signs that time is up. 😀
Annie, I love everything about the Melancholia layout. The corner cluster is so cute.
Michele, beautiful and colorful pages. I do love both.
Annie, very nice layout… Is there a time when your “helpers” overwork and eat all the vegetables? : )
Corrie, Marie-Claire, Ann, and Art Kuiper, lovely layouts to showcase your hobbies.
Well done, everyone!
Annie, your explanation of the song “Black is Black” gave me the idea of using the song “Back to Black” from Amy Winehouse… I love the idea of a black and white layout!… You have a special way of having various elements, textures, papers on a layout that make them look great… Mine would look very, very busy! lol
I am just finishing my Travel Tale layout, and maybe I’ll give this a try before starting the Magazine Challenge.
It looks like my mojo is coming back slowly.
Best wishes
