Carole, thank you for the explanations about the print command before defDo and about the Versions numbers.
Deana, I hope you can catch up soon. Be safe!
Hi Carole,
I think my entry #5 layout is in the Spam. 🙂
And entry #5
Again from the Mystery Challenge – List, the year 2018.
Masterclass: https://scrapbookcampus.com/master-classes/touch-it/
Here is my entry #4.
This is from an old challenge called Mystery Challenge; the Scavenger Hunt Challenge kind of replaced it.
The year was 2017, and we had to add 10 elements to a layout… I struggled because usually, I only have a few elements on a page… Would I do it differently today? Sure, but it was fun, anyhow.
There are so many tutorials on this page that I can only refer to the Classes>Intermediate>Creative Scrap
My impression is that this thread has exceeded any other in inspiration… I am in awe! So much skill is shown here, whether from a beginner or a veteran.
Great work, Everyone! And congratulations, Carole, because you are the one that made this possible!
I am almost finished with Lesson 4.
I am working on version X8 and the “print command” doesn’t work everywhere… For some reason, it is ignored when I add them underneath the comments.
I also got various indentation errors, although the print command was exactly where it should be (4 spaces)
I will continue tomorrow, and I’ll try it in other PSP versions.
Everyone is doing such a wonderful job, posting their work and showcasing many of Carole’s techniques available on the Campus… And there are so many I haven’t tried yet!
Corrie, thank you. <3 … And I am still learning! The more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know… Before joining the Campus, I had no clue about scrapping; now, looking at the pages I have created, my husband and I smile… And by the way, the “Jause” is a very important part of hiking. 🙂
Sue, the same happened here; when I joined the Campus, there were not as many tutorials as nowadays, but I remember feeling overwhelmed with the amount of them… I didn’t know where to start, so first was the Fasteners and, after that, the Lab. 🙂
Carole, back then, I used a different technique, gluing the paper clip to the paper. 😉 LOL
I also miss seeing pages from Michele and Annie Tobin here!
Dear Sue, this Big10 event gave me the opportunity to look back on my first layouts and remember how much fun I had creating them… Of course, I look at some pages and think: “Well, well… ” LOL… Learning is a process, and we cannot be disappointed if we don’t get it immediately… just keep trying… There’s a saying in German: “Übung macht den Meister.” or “Practice makes the Master”… So, I will keep trying. 🙂
And as you said, if we don’t cringe anymore, we have to thank Carole.
Best wishes, my friend. <3
I am still very interested! Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time last week, and I am still going through Lesson 4. Starting tomorrow, I will have more free time and hopefully finish Lessons 4 and 5.
Here is my entry #3.
Still showing my first layouts and using fasteners… I was so happy to be able to create them! In fact, it’s still great to be able to create papers, elements, and so much more following Cassel’s tutorials.
Paper clip: https://scrapbookcampus.com/element-creation-index/paperclip/
I used Cassel’s Playdough Alphabet freebie.
One can see that I didn’t know how to add it correctly to the page. This shows me how much I have learned from Carole since then… But I also know there’s a lot more! 🙂
Karon Dey, thank you so much! You are very kind. <3 I miss seeing your work in this thread; you have created so many lovely layouts inspired/following the Labs tutorials. 🙂
Wow, beautiful work of Everyone, showing off what they’ve learned!
Carole, you should be proud of yourself, seeing how many people you have helped in advancing their knowledge of PSP… No wonder Corel has recognized this on its https://learn.corel.com/photo-home/ page.
I am still going down memory lane, posting my first layouts… But, it is so nice to look back and realize how much I’ve learned from you, Carole… And there is so much more!
So, here is my entry#2… Back then, I was adding fasteners to all of my layouts as I had bought the Fasteners Classes (I don’t remember how it was really called). The Diamond Membership had not yet been created. 🙂
For the title, I used what I had learned on Basic Scrap Course-Module 5, and the Elastic is from: https://scrapbookcampus.com/element-creation-index/elastic/.

Laurie, I totally agree with you.
Here about the #Vector commands
Not to be too confusing, I separate the images
Carole, here are some observations.
1_ Except for Version X8, all the other versions I have (2019-2021-2022) show a different version in the script… I noticed it first watching your video, which showed Version 2023…
I tested, and 2019 shows 2021 — 2021 shows 2023 — 2022 shows 2024
2_ The “Vector Selection Update” command appears in all versions whenever I select another layer. For example, I was adding bevel or shadow.
3_ The command Object>Allign Center also shows as Vector:
# Vector Align Center in Canvas
Certainly, there was a reason for the programmers to do this… I just found it interesting.
Lesson 3
So, I’ve practice editing the script: changing this, adding comments, True and False, etc.
I changed the selection shape a few times, even circle, and when I wanted to change back to Rectangle, I wrote Rectangular instead, and the script failed.
Although the error message had the line number and the AttributeError, my brain did not realize it… It took a few minutes to see the mistake and correct it… I can only imagine how it is when you have a SCRIPT!
Annie, sorry to hear that… Sometimes things happen, and we have no clue why and it is hard to identify the reason… Hope it will be solved soon! 🙂
Carole, yes, we cannot explain many things in the program itself, and creating scripts is no different. 🙂
To answer your question: I have not had any problems watching the 4 videos so far … sound and image ok.
Hi, Michele, I think it’s too early.
It says 9 Am UTC -3, which is Carole’s time… Now it is +/- 7:20 AM her time… You are in New York, +/- 6:20 UTC -4, so you still have a couple of hours to watch it live at 9 Am.
Best wishes
Happy Anniversary, Carole! Congratulations on the 10th Anniversary of the Campus!
Your talent, expertise, and high-quality tutorials/material are what kept me here for all those years and hopefully for many more.
Also very important are the people, the friends I made on the Campus… Everyone cheers for each other, shares tips and their knowledge, which makes me want to return to the site.
I will show one of my very first layouts from 2016… Boy, was I proud of my achievement! LOL
It includes cass-Water-Alpha Tags” freebie, and the technique is Interlacing.
https://scrapbookcampus.com/tips-tricks/interlacing-elements-with-paintshop-pro/
Carole, I think my post went to the Spam as it does not show here… I tried to post it again, but it says: “Error Duplicate Reply detected.”
Carole, I was not using vector shapes, and that’s why I was surprised to see that command added.
My steps were:
1- Create a document / Add a Selection-Circle / Move Tool / Flood Fill.
2- Duplicate the layer / Mirror Horizontal
The other shapes were also created with the Selection Tool (another circle and a rounded rectangle).
After that, I added the Drop Shadow manually on each layer. Only in the last layer, I used the CTRL+Y command.
I did that in Version X8, the oldest I have on this laptop. I am going to try the same steps in newer versions.
Here is my Lesson 2. I also did the changes suggested by Suz Shook/video.
I created another script to practice other commands: New layer / Move tool / Layer duplicate / Mirror horizontal …
Looking at the Script Editor and Text Editor afterward, I noticed that every time I had selected another layer to add a drop shadow, a “Vector Selection Update” command was added in Silent Mode.
I am enjoying this course very much. Now, I will move on to Lesson 3.
Annie, thank you, my friend 🙂 Carole and I concluded that it is a default warning message, not an error as I thought at first.
Lovely work, Karon!
Hi Pirkko, welcome to the Campus! I am sure you will learn a lot here; Carole has enough tutorials/material to keep us busy for years to come. 🙂
I’ve been practicing creating scripts in different PSP versions… I noticed that the ones I create in newer versions (PSP2021 or PSP2022) don’t work in older versions, showing error messages.
I wonder if anybody else has experienced this.
P.S. If I click ok on the first message, it runs the script without problem, at least this easy one.
Carole, in my opinion, is ok to have 2 lessons per week, at least at the beginning… It gives me time to learn, go over and over, and practice. Everything is new, and there’s a lot of information to sink in… But, let’s see what the other participants think. 🙂
