Ann, I did my pages so I could split them for posting. It was a bit of a challenge because it was also my first one, but I had done the Basic Scrap Course on my one (I wished we had the studygroup then). This is one of the really double ones. See you, I’m almost finished with day 1, but I’ll post it tomorrow; it’s after midnight overhere.

Great designs and all so different. I think Ann the time you get the newsletter has to do with the time differences we are in. I get mine mostly on sunday afternoon in my timezone, I’m on GMT+1 (Greenwich MeanTime + 1). I have a time difference with Carole of 6 hours (and with my daughter near Seattle it’s 9 hours).

I have been making a card for a dear friend who is having chemotherapie at the moment; I make her one every week! This week I made my card using the colors of this palette and a photo I took the other day of a butterfly that had just purpated and was drying its wings in the sunshine. We call it an Orange Tip (Anthocharis cardamines). My colors are bit more subdued but I didn’t want a card so bright. It is a double card and I write something on the inside. I just have to print it now.

I have choosen:  Walk to the Water from U2. Again an oldie from 1987

I have not quoted the full lyrics of this song, that would have been to much, but you can find them on you tube. It isn’t a particular favour of mine but I happen to have this beach scene background for quite some time and from that came this idea. Originally it was a watercolored, but that didn’t work well so I made it black and white with a little splash of color in the colored mat  under the coverphoto. The U2 font is a font with all kinds of instruments and was a daily gift from Creative Fabrica.

Bonnie I like your number 1, but number 3 is my favourite. The black and white with that moon and because it is night, great idea!

Thanks to Cassel and Annie, the problem is solved! I don’t think I’ll ever forget to check that match mode on the floodfill tool, a lesson well learned!!!

This are the 2 papers I made from templates. It were both layered ones from Marissa Lerin at Pixelscrapper. I used one of the links for colorpalettes, but I think if I use this method to make a paper from a template then I will pick the colors from my photo.

I too lked the masterclass about Using Elements Templates very much. And I had the same problem as Annie with my PSP 2021 and I could not flood fill the layers of a paper. I have tried  and tried, replayed the masterclassvideo again and again and not understanding what I was doing wrong. A single element like the paperclip or a ribbon no problem. Annie I didn’t think of using a brush, I’ll give that tomorrow a try; it is midnight overhere. Here are my results so far.

It was a week of not doing much scrapping, the weather was nice for a change; now it is cold an raining again. So we went for a couple of walks with a coffee to go. I also had my second birthday without any visitors due to the lockdown. But it was a nice day after all with a lot of calls, mail, videocalls, flowers and we ordered dinner. The best  gift however was the opportunity to make an appointment for my 1 covid shot which is scheduled for April 19. Hurrah….

I just made myself a new logo for putting on the back of the cards I make. The one I have was made way back when you got a simple painting option in an old windows version. I used that one for about 20 years or so. Time for a new one. At that time I started making cards using a German program called Data Becker, which no longer exists. And before that I made my cards with paper and scissors.

Annie, lovely page to honor the Crocodil Hunter, who is well known overhere too. I have seen a lot of his films and documentaries on all kinds of animals on the telly.

When my granddaughters were living in Switserland before the family came to the States, I visited there often. A favourite trip was going to the Childrens Zoo in Rapperswil. There you could ride on an elephant! At first when the girls were little an adult had to come too and I can tell you the back of an elephant is definitiv. not comfortable to sit on!!!! Therefore I had to do this layout for this theme of the month.

Chanthalia Design has a lot of animal kits, so most of the elephants are hers. The banner I had in my stash and I put to title on it as well as the yellow elephants. The shadow on the banner is a bit difficult because it has not seperat layers to manipulate. The whole of the page is a bit grey, but that’s what elephants are.

I’m looking forward to this challenge and it is a first for me, althought the travel challenge of last year also had the opportunity of double pages. I’m not sure what my subject will be, have to think about that.

And this is my module 5. The backgroundpaper is not so good to see in this resized upload, on the full page you can see better it has a wooden structure. The alpha on a single sheet comes from Pixelscrapper but I changed the color to match the theme. Instead of paper circles I made moonshapes, I didn’t have a fitting star but took this yellow folded paper that also has a shadow to take into consideration. I don’t like working with the warp brush because my hands are unsteady, even if I enlarge considerable. I’m not happy with the result.

Carole, I found this experiment with a studygroup great and I don’t think I would have gone over the basic scrapcourse again. It was a very usefull experience because I had forgotten some techniques that I don’t often use. So thank you very much!!!!

I like this challenge! Last year, on my daily walks I have taken a lot of photos of the flowering plants in frontgardens that I passed by. I’m still on my daily walks because we are still in lockdown and I don’t like to take more or less the same photos again! So I decided to do a series of photos on plants commonly described as weeds and/or plants growing in grass- and woodlands but not the cultivated ones from the gardencentre.

Here is my number ONE. I used the sprayed alpha (with digits)  from Carole and filled it with the flowers in question. The background is made from that photo using the kaleidoskop with a reduced opacity. I also made a picture tube from one of the flowers. The datestamp is a script and the titlefont is Kleymissky with extra glyphs. The border is made with digit 1 on a path.

For the Layers Assignment: When I was installing my new computer I already customized my layerspalette. I was used to have the tooltip thumbnails at 200 and the palette thumbnails at 50. Therefore I kept it the same. I have my layerspalette docked, but my materials floating because I can have it beside or on the project I’m doing and for instance better judge what colors go together.

This is my module 4. I didn’t use a specific kit and took the papers for my cubes from some I had in my stash because the matched the colors of the photo. As explained above I made the brads element myself from 1 brad. I don’t like to have my journaling on the left side, so I put it mostly on the right. The color of the journaling I tend to choose from the photo/papers and not in black, but I choose I good to read font, although not arial. The title is from a single sheet that I found on Pixelscrapper by Elif Sahin.

It is a brad from Marisa Lerin that I have in my stash and recolored to match my project. And  doily by Sheila Reid from Pixelscrapper. The full layout I still have to make. For a change we had a lovely spring day and I was outside most of the time, therefor I have to do a lot of other things this evening and less “scraptime”.

Wow Mary, great work and it shows you can use PSP for different purposes!

I made a card for Easter with the text in German for friends in Switserland and I will change the text to Dutch and English later on as e-cards. I have to thank Sue Thomas for the lace mask she gave us on Facebook. I made the background with eastereggs by using the blend mode set to screen because I only wanted a hint of them. I hope it is visible on this resized version. On the printed version it looks fine, just as I wanted it to be.

Carole, thank you for putting me out of my misery (on Facebook) on the Pic-To-Painting problem. I spend some time trying to install it and not understanding why I could not!!!! I see what you mean about the shadow of the screw in module 2, but I think it is a big screw, maybe the shadow is a bit to big though. Your construction-alpha came in pretty handy for this layout.

Thanks for the tip to put the dropshadow command on the toolbar, I have done so and I have the “Open-a-copy” command also on the toolbar

This whole year the staionsquare (Stationsplein) in our village is a building site. They are undertaking a major reconstruction. On some days you can pass but you have to go through sand/mud and on other days you must take a detour. This sketch challenge was a good opportunity to showcase it. Later this year I’ll do something with the endresult that hopefully will give us a nice and welcoming square. Because I plan to use it over here I did this one in Dutch.
