This one is from: https://scrapbookcampus.com/bootcamp/july2021
More then a year after I did my first bootcamp, I participated again to see what I had forgotten and I must say it was useful! In this layout I made the glittertile around the photos, a linoleum background and a plaid from the Love Challenge and an overlay I had from Inky Deals as a freebie once.
It is so nice to see all this entries, some of which I remember well, because they inspired me to try something too.

I did this course over a year ago as follow-up on the bootcamp and again a couple of month ago with the studygroup and it was worthwhile to do it twice because I had forgotten some really elementary things!
On this one we learned how to make those squares in reverse order and I made the backgrounds, a dots pattern and the plaid which I learned in the Love Challenge this year. Further the use of letters from a single sheet.

Like Sue T, I always have the “Tips & Tricks for Paintshop Pro” book on hand, next to the PC! And that’s how I made the lights glow in this layout that was done for the week challenge “Lights” in October 2020. I had been making a scrapbook of my stay with my daughter and the grandkids in the USA and added this page to it.
Carole I agree with you on the versatility of the use of masks! I’m becoming a great fan of that technique and use it often now I have learned to make them myself.
Cindy hope everything will turn out well for you and your family in the end.
In the first place many congratulations with 10 years scrapbook campus!!! I’m part of it since March 2020 and have learned so much and I like it even more.
This entry is from the Double Take challenge and I learned to use masks and to make them myself, make a background with the Kaleidoskop and make double pages.

Hello Pirkko, a welcome from me too and I can say from experience that you have found the right place! I hope you will enjoy your time here as much as I do.

Sue what a cute little thing. I didn’t know that baby rabbits are called kittens; always something to learn overhere! Photos are great and I like the tilted effect on the corner of the stamp.
I wanted to used this palette but had almost forgotten about it! The magazine challenge was so nice to do and some days it was nice weather over here. Overall the summer hasn’t been great, so when we have a couple of nice days I want to be outside and forget about the PC. But now it is raining again and cold for the time of the year!
I used the all colors of the palette, a photo of blackberries on the heath and a template from Pixelscrappers. The background has a blinds effect (horizontal and vertical) which is not very visible on this reduced page. A paper with a motive made with polkadots and two papers filled with a color from the palette. I made a flair button and the fonts are Cute Butterfly Monogram, Aynilla and Berlin Sans.I gave the text a little bit of shadow to make it easier to read.
Mary, I lovely layout and great use of the outline of America!
Sorry I thought I forgot to submit the first entry and made a new one and the first is here after all, I suspect Murphy’s Law is at work with this project….
I’m happy that the text wrapping is working now, but I still find it a bit strange that my PSP 2021 which I installed a couple of month ago must have been set with another compatibility; I have never changed that setting!
Here is the result, I’m not completely pleased, but I’m fed up with it. However I’m very happy with the background made of 2 photos with a mask and they blend in well. I used another photo for the frame, wrapped my text (Hobo font) inside the footprints. The title is the name of the heath and fen area. No further embellishments, I didn’t want to obscure the lovely heather and fen.
Sue, nice new profile photo, lovely to see your face!
I’m so glad the text wrapping is working now!!! But I still find it very strange because I didn’t ever change that compatibility setting, so it must have been on a lower PSP version from the moment I installed it.
Here is the result of the effort and I’m not very happy with the result but I’m fed up with it now. I’m happy with the background which I made from 2 photos with a mask that I had from Carole. It was a freebie once when I didn’t know how to use it, luckely that has changed. I wrapped my text (Hobo font) inside the footprints and gave the page a title which is the name of the heath and fen area and the date we visited there. I did not want more elements to obscure the photos. A simple frame made with another not so good photo.
Sue nice photo and I am happy to see your face!
A big thanks to you Carole it was the compatibility setting that was wrong, but it was very strange that PSP was not able to save at all when there was wrapped text. It didn’t matter if it was hidden or not. I changed the setting and now it’s OK. Sue, Annie thanks for trying to help and your pages are wonderful, a real inspiration ❤ I have a lot to learn, but at least I can go back to creating something and not worrying about saving!
Sue thank you but that is what I tried and it didn’t do the trick, but maybe carole has come up with the solution. I have never thought to look there because I have never changed that compatability mode.
Carole it is set to PSP 8, so maybe that’s the problem. Should I set it to PSP X8-2021 or PSP 12?
I have a problem with the text wrapping!!! I’m not a hugh fan of this technique. I have uploaded an image that is not finished but I need it to explain. On the left I used the text wrapping, I have reread the blogpost about it and done as is said. I know that I have to convert it to a raster layer before sizing it down for posting, but I want to save my page as a PSP-image too because I want to work on it maybe another day. And when I do that I get this message: “An error has occured while trying to save the image”. And that happens always when using the text wrapping! After converting the text to a raster layer I can save it as a PSP-image, but then I cann’t change my text or a typo anymore. Is this normal?
On the right I just typed in without using text wrapping and it givves more options for adjusting the text too.
I hope that somebody, Carole, Sue, Annie can help. Maybe there is a setting inside PSP that is wrong?
Michele and Annie what a beautiful pages you both did. They are so very different and I honestly can’t say which one I prefer!!!!
To finish my magazine I made a back cover too. I used one of the extra templates and more or less the same style as the frontcover. Same gradient, white lines and font. Another photo but with a lowered opacity because it is the back and some info about the magazine. Maybe I’ll add extra pages over time and print it then.
P = Play the Piano
Ann I see I have to make a back cover too! Will do that one of the coming days.
Here is my day 7: the deadnettle in 2 colors. I used the template of day 5 and altered it using the tut on how to do it. I used again a gradient with the blendmode set to hardlight and a lowered opacity. I also gave it a pagenumber now all the pages are done and I can order them to my liking, which is not the order in which the were made.
I also made an introduction page and will give the other pages their number. I placed the numbers in a little green box and have that box on the right- or lefthand side of the pages. On the left of the introduction page are some little photos with a page number to make the readers curious to the rest of the contents. Maybe I’ll extent this magazine over time so I didn’t want to make the table of contents just yet. Of course a gradient and the same font + the calligraphy script font. Oh and I used one of the extra templates for this page, but I altered it (of course!!!).
I very much enjoyed this magazine challenge; it is possible to make great layouts without all the embellishments and papers of a normal scrapbook page. It was a pleasure to see all the different magazines that were made and we all learned a lot. Carole thank you so much!!!
Day 6. I struggled a bit to find a photo for this page, most of my flowers are more or less in the middle of the photo. The frame I didn’t use. Again a very subtle gradient and same font with an overlapping title. No place for ads here!
I altered day 5 as Carole suggested and used uppercase and rotated the yellow word Meisjesogen. Now it is more readable.
Val thank so much you for your kind comments on all my pages!
Sue it was no Wales for me but we did visit the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinbourgh! I checked the text and the little distortion you see is indeed due to the reseizing. I noticed the hoverfly but I didn’t mention it on the page because it was all about the meadow going over. And I will take Carole’s suggestion for my vertical text and change it to uppercase.
Sue I can see your love for Wales in every page and I must say I regret not having been there. We have visited England and Scotland a couple of times before my husband got ill. Live happens !!!!
This is day 5 and I not only split the mask but repositioned it too. At first I had both photos to the right and all the text to the left but that was not a pleasing composition. The font is the same but this time with a yellow fill. Background again a vaque gradient with the blendmode set to exclusion. The yellow word “meisjesogen” is the Dutch name of this plant and means “girl’s eyes”.
Sue again a stunning page in every way! The photos are marvelous and the layout too. It’s a pity that you have to seize it down; we never get to see it in its full glory.
