Thank you Bonnie and like Sue I admire all your pickleball pages !
D = Dundee cake, a Scottish cake like an English fruitcake
The colors of fall here are not so vibrant as in the States and Canada. I was hoping that I could see this for myself but it will have to wait for another year or so! There are however in the autumn a lot of spiderwebs and last weekend on a walk I could take some photos. On places that were in the shade the spiderwebs were still covered in morningdew. I used a leaf mask from Corel on one of the photos. Another not so good photo gave me the background on which a tried different effects until I was satisfied with the result. I was trying to keep it in the palette colorscheme. All the colors are used. The frame is made with the cisseltool, the beige paper has a blinds effect to give it some texture and it has scallopped sides. The blue is sparsely used in 2 thin stripes. Dark grey is the mat and it has orange stitches around it. Light grey and Orange is used in the text with fonts Arienne and Baby Garland. I put a spiderweb in the corner with some bubbles and I hope it’s visable.
Ann very clever and it looks great!
X = XOXO cake, I know a little bit questionable but there are not many cakes with X
A totally different layout, no halloween or cakes!
This is a card I made for my dear friend who is celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary coming week. Strangely enough I don’t have good pictures of both of them so I only used their initials. The card is one of 4 that I acquired some time ago. Because I made many cards with flowers for her during her chemo treatment, I didn’t want to do something similar. She is feeling fine at the moment but it will be a celebrating with mixed feelings because it is clear that she won’t have many years left, probably 2 or 3 at the most according to her docters. I used the font Monogram Handdrawn Rose and colored it with a red rose and green leaves. All text has an inner bevel to simulate those thicker golden elements you see sometimes on cards. The shadow is really tiny because the card itself has no shadows, it is a watercolored card. I tried a bigger shadow, but that was overpowereing. Now I just have to print it.
Michele your tulle dress is just fabulous!
Ann that tree has great colors. Over here the autumn colors are not so vibrant and it is only just beginning to color. Of course there are a lot of little acers planted in peoples gardens and they are starting to color, but mostly our trees get brownish leaves; some are yellow. I was hoping to be able visit my daughter/grands this fall and see those colors for myself, but it won’t happen this year .
N = New-York Cheesecake
Trish you are the Queen of cakes overhere!!! Love them all.
I made a humble cupcake, but I happen to like those and have a photo. I’m making a lot of elements from the creative scrap and the envelope is one of them, made a recipecard as well and wrote a recipe for cupcakes on it. I made a sprinkles tube too. I love to make all those relatively simple elements for use in all sorts of projects. The background is a paper made with the kaleidoskop some time ago and to tone it down a bit I put an overlay from my stash over it. The rest of the elements and text are the freebies by Carole.
J = Jajan pasar, a traditional Javanese cake from Indonesia
Trish you made me hungry….. I have missed you here and also those great ccakes, the color combinations are lovely.
E = Eierkoek
Hi,
I’m glad to be in too! This time round I won’t show flowers, I have done that last year on more then one challenge. I was hoping that there would come a calender for 2022, so I have been taking photos of my village this year with a calender in mind. And 1 photo per page will suit me and my photos fine! I’m curious to all the pages that will be produced!
A = Appeltaart (Dutch) or Apple Pie
Monique why not, nowhere is stated that everything must be in English! We can treat our campus friends to some Dutch cakes!!!!!
Some years ago I sailed in a hotair balloon and many of my friends asked if I had been afraid? So I thought that this could count for the Fear Challenge, something else as spiders and creepy crawlies althought they are beautiful in their own right. I have a lot of photos of this adventure and there certainly will be another challenge where I can i use more of those photos. For now I extracted the balloon and I’m somewhere in the basket underneath! For sometime I have a template from Digital Scrapbook (Pixelscrapper) in my stash and I used that as a startingpoint, but in the end I only kept the word adventure which I gave a bit of a texture and an inner bevel. The idea of a paintsplash I also kept. The quote is from the internet and the background is made from 2 photos with a lower opacity.
W = Wedding cake
P = Pavlova
Michele fabulous autumn colors and so well displayed!
Mary what a lovely memory!
My other granddaughter’s sport is Taekwondo and she is rather good at it. As I made a layout for her sister, I of course had to do the same for her. There are not so many elements to be found on the different scrapbook sites so I had to turn to Google. Then comes the AI from Paintshop into play because everything I could download was very small and it is great that it’s possible to enlarge! The background is made from the bottom photo before I cropped it; I used a blend mode and low opacity. Font is Trebuchet MS which comes with Windows.
My youngest granddaughter is a huge fan of soccer! When the family moved to the States she was promised that she could join a soccerteam. Then Covid came and everything was cancelled, but this summer she could go to a soccer week and now has joined the local team. In one of the Labs (10-11) I found a layout about soccer as an inspiration and a template. Of course I used that template as a starting point for my layout and my daughter send me the photos I used. On the photo of the team I blurred all the faces for posting here and on facebook. The colors I took from her outfit and the soccer related items I found on Chantahlia Design and with the ball I made the background paper. I hope she likes it. Now I’m working on a Taekwondo page for her sister. When finished I’ll show that here too.
Brenda I know how you feel; it happened to me too. But you are doing great and remember there is no time pressure!!!
K = King Cake
E = Eggs
Pirkko I agree with Sue. But Pixelscrapper is now: digitalscrapbook.com and it is a great source of free stuff! From digital papers, templates to an enormous variety of embellisments. When I started here in the campus I didn’t have anything, only my photos and what is already inside PSP. It has helped me make lovely layouts while I learned so much more!
My 5 elements are:
– 5 photos of berries inside the filmstrip
– 5 stickers with the common names of the berries
– 5 flairbuttons with those berries replacing the letters O in the text
I made the background out of one of the photos with a heavy blur and an overlay with a bokeh effect. A second overlay of the leafs ( a freebie from Corel last year). Stickers made from a label and a lot of lose hay on the bottom.
J = Job coach
Sue a great 5+5+5 with those lovely flower photos! I have seen it already on Facebook and there the details are a little bit better to see and admire. Seeing your adventcards I think that maybe I should start thinking and making some Christmas cards and your use of fonts will certainly inspire me to think about those lines too.
Sue a lovely layout and your photos are great, I love dragonflies. In our old house we had a small pont and I used to watch the dragonfly emerging and drying its wings on an upright leaf, magical!
