I haven’t commented very much, but every one has made such lovely and different pages.
Mary Solaas, I like you hobbit’s house and I’m a fan of Lord of the Rings too!
This is my day 6 of the workshops with again another tree in bloom. I did a couple of linoleum backgrounds with a color from the photo and didn’t like them. They stayed all a bit bland even with the blend mode set to soft light. I changed the blend mode to difference and reduced the opacity a bit, which gave me this result that suits the photo much better, at least I think so.
Day 5. We were in a gardencentre this afternoon and they had lovely Camelias on display. Gardencentres are great places for flowerphotos if you are not in the position to see them in the “wild”. Besides a spotted brush, which I think comes with PSP, I used the Extra day 5 swirl brushes. The background is made of a white paper with an overlay of a watercolor paper with leaves.
Day 4 and another tree. I needed anupdate on making your own mask from scratch and now I know why that didn’t go well for me after the Love Story Challenge. I had taken notes and there was a mistake in those notes so it didn’t work. But hurray, now I’m okay. I don’t like that you cann’t see where the edges of the photo are when you make the mask. So I place guides around my photo and have a better idea where to brush! Carole is this a known trick that I rediscovered for myself? I copied the mask, merged the group and turned it into a rasterlayer. Selected it with the magic wand and gave it a light feather so the outside is a bit “softer”. I tried a blur first, but like the feathering better.
Hi Christiane, a warm welcome from me too, we already had some Facebook contact and I’m Dutch so I’m motr ot less a neighbour tooI, depending on where you live in Germany. I hope you will enjoy learning about scrapbooking.
Day 3 with the Extra Mask. It is a bit the same color as the other 2 days but so far it are all trees that flower in early spring and they tend to have a lot of pink, lilac and white colors. What now is part of a frame was an open space in the mask through which you could see the background paper. But that made it a bit to bland so I turned it into a darker frame to give it a bit of pep. The kaleidoskop background is very subtle otherwise it overpowers the delicate colors of the flowers.
Sue thank you. Obvious it isn’t in the Netherlands; it’s in Switzerland and you see a part of the Alps. I took the train up, it has cogwheels because it is rather steep in some parts of the trail. It was a lovely, bright and rather chilly day but the view was phenomenal. I was there with my daughter’s parents in lwas and the grandkids, so we also took the train down. Both the mountains in Wales are only names to me, but I have seen many documentaries, series where they are featured. Are you planning to go there and visit your family this year now Covid seems to allow us to travel again? I go to my daughter/grands in the States end of April, flight is booked now, so fingers crossed.
Day 1 redone. I didn’t like the font I used on this first one and have altered it so I will be consistent throughout this workshop. I do that just because I like it that way!
To all the newbies: weldone! I know how much time you have to spent to make this work, I was there last year when I did this workshop for the first time. Now it is so much easier and you will get there too.
My day 2 with again the Extra template. I made a couple of plaids before I had one I liked, but I lowered the opacity of the plaid in order not to overpower my photos. The font is Almond script, a recent freebie by Creative Fabrica with lovely glyphs.
I did the then called Love Challenge last year and since then I often use masks. This time round I’m going to use the Extra’s and my theme – I like a theme – will be blossomming trees. I have used my flower photos on many projects and this is my first entry. The font is Floryn
This weekend the freebie from Corel was a HighKey Monochrome-blue script. Most of the time I don’t like to alter my photos to much, except from brightness/contrast and removing unwanted objects. But this script invited me so to speak to give it a try. After some exprimenting with the settings, I find the result not to bad and used it for this TUT/Tech Challenge on square corners. Sue’s entry reminded me of the technique to make an embossed frame and I used 2 corner punches. The background is made of 2 papers in a matching color and the font is Bianca Romantic which has lovely swatches and was in one of the free fonts bundle for February by Creative Fabrica. The HighKey Monochrome script can be used not only with blue but with other colors too. Maybe I’ll give that a try on another moment.
Monique great idea to us the same photo 4 times on the QP-6 Extra, I must remember that trick!
This is my QP-7 Extra and because of the still gray, rainy and stormy weather we have I neede something to cheer me up! The photos of the butterflies (and 1 moth) I took in the past summers certainly did that. The font is My Butterfly and I used some butterfly picture tubes too.
A great idea and the testbook lookes lovely. I hope that you will go forward with this project in the Campus.
QP-Extra6. Instead of 4 photos I used one in all the frames, otherwise the photos would be to small for my liking. The photo is taken on a exhibition in the Bellevue Art Museum which I visited when I was in the States. I’m looking back to those photos at the moment, because I have dared to book a ticket for the end of April to visit my daughter, son in law and the grandkids. Fingers crossed that all goes to plan. The fancy font is Star Bright.
Carole, Monique that storm was really raging ouside, but other then a lot of old leaves on our patio and windows that you cann’t look through anymore no damage was done. We are just back from a short walk around the neighbourhood and there are a lot of broken branches from the trees on the ground but nothing major in the vicinity. Trains are still not running or only on some sections. Four people died through falling trees; so we were lucky!
Z = Zoo, maybe a place to visit on your honeymoon
QP-Extra5: We are in the same Storm Eunice, it has crossed the Channel and it’s really a heavy one. Code red for most parts of the country; all flights and trains no longer operate, schools closed earlier and we had a very rare countrywide NL-Alert urging people to stay at home.
A couple of weeks ago I got a photo of Davos in Switzerland where at that time a snowstorm was raging and so the connection to today was made. The font for the word snowstorm is Snow Bold, which a have for a while but never had the opportunity to use because this probably will be a winter without snow for us.
Carole the cookies were very tasty!

QP.4-Extra is about the hightea(s) we had when I turned 70 with the invitationcard I made and 3 photos instead of 4. The bottom photo is in 2 frames. Today I played with the Cookie script 2 that I won last weekend and I decided to put some of the cookies on this page.
Monique, congratulations and emjoy being a grandma!
X = Xanten a town (or village) in Germany. It is visited often by tourists who are trying to visit all the places who’s names start with the letters of the alphabet.
Sue good to read you will be back soon, so we can see more of your great pages that inspire many of us.
Lynda what a nice memento for you mother.
All the pages are really lovely and well done.
I wanted to do the QP,3 again and the photos are from “De Markthal” a market hall in Rotterdam. It’s a very futuristic building and when first opened it attracted a lot of visitors; domestic and from abroad.
QP-Extra.3 has a photo of a beach and on the signpost is the place-name. The saison and the year are added too.
This was it for today; my time was really limited and then quickpages are great to do something very quickly!
I’m in too! I like working with masks but I think I can do with a bit of updating on this subject. I tend to use the masks I’m familiar with and don’t remember some of the stuff from the Love Story Challenge of last year. I’m looking forward to this workshop!
This are my Quick Page Extra #1 and #2. As I did the BusyBusy Chaleenge of last year I now only do the Extras. The photo of the snowdrop I took this afternoon! Spring is around the corner, but at the moment we have heavy rain and there will be storm later in the week, so spring will have to wait a little longer I guess.
Quick-Page Workshop: Extra 1
I like very much that we get extra pages because I already participated in the busy-busy challenge of last November. So this is the extra page. Although it is a quick page I couldn’t help myself and made a name tag for the butterfly with the colors from the page.

The earthy tones of this palette let me think of all the mushroom photos I have and some have more or less the same colors. I used a multiphotos template without the top row where I put my text. Made a plaid by using the palette colors, the outer frame has a woodgrain texture and an inner bevel. Font is Bavire also with an inner bevel.
Lynda,
I’m in the Netherlands and altough I know some of the great names of country and folk music, these artists aren’t among those. But I’ll certainly check them out on you tube in the coming days.
V = Vacation
D is for the printing museum “Drukkerij Museum”, that was established in1976 and is all about the art of bookprinting. The old printing-office looks as it would have been in the fifities of the 20th century. All the different aspects of bookprinting are showcased. Since a couple of years the museum exhibites an unique wooden printing-press from 1760. There are often temporary exhibitions, all in connection with printing.
For this page I made a print overlay, I hope it is visable in this resized version. The rest is in the same style as the other letters.
Lynda both your layouts are very pretty, although I must say that I’m not familiar with both the artists. Maybe they are not so well known over here, at least not to me.
Marie-Claire hele mooie layout en prachtige foto’s!
