I liked this very different Random Challenge and like most of us I wanted to change the dimensions of the papers etc. I used a photo of the Ceanothus that at the moment is flowering magnificiently in our courtyard. I made the plaid as a background, but that overpowered the photo to much and it is now on the doodle and all the colors are taken from my photo; the font is Cralione one of the many freebies by Creative Fabrica.
For the coming weeks I’m visiting my daughter, son in law and the grandkids in America and I’m very happy that it is possible to travel again. I however shall miss you all, but I’ll check in once in a while to see all the lovely pages that are being made. It’s a pity that I miss Scrapbook Day (Weekend)…… but that is a small price to pay. See you in 4 weeks time, take care!
Mary and Bonnie thank you so much and I’ll make a ton of pictures for sure. I hope to see some lovely flowers and views that are different from what I see at home. But the bulk of those photos will be from the grandkids!! After more than 2 years they will look so grown up to me in spite of the videocalls we had.
Bonnie those icecreams look delicious.
I have been working a bit ahead on my alphabet because in a couple of days now I’m going to the States to visit my daughter and the grandkids. At least as the requiered PCR test on wednesday is negativ, so fingers crossed. All the necessary paperwork is ready and it is a lot these days. I don’t take my laptop with me as I’m travelling on my own and that will be a bit to much to handle! However I have my tablet with me so I at least can watch some masterclasses on quiet moments and I will check in the Campus to see what everybody is doing. I’m very happy that after more then 2 years I can go!!! I’m flying to Seattle and probably will pass overhead by some of you in Canada or the USA and I’ll wave.
Hi Carole,
I too wish you a very happy birthday and I hope you will have a nice day (or weekend) with lots of gifts. I for sure will enjoy the birthday sale and I’m going to do my shopping later today because now I have an appointment at the eyeclinic for a check-up.
I totally agree with Cristina, so best wishes and thanks!
Hi Carole,
This is great for new members. I have my own copy which I bought when I started scrapping here with you. I have given it a quick look and as far as I can see all the links are working as they should. Have a nice birthday tomorrow.
I had fun creating this 2 gradients to be seen as Current and Previous in the screenprint. I took the colors from the photo of an azalea I had last autumn. I played a bit with the green gradient, one vertical and one as a sunburst with more repeats. Then I used the blend mode to overlay to get this muted effect. The frame has the pink gradient with an inner bevel.

I wish you all a very happy and sunny Easter!
For this card I used the diamond extra 1B card from the recent Template Workshop. I made all the brushstrokes into a mask for the photo of my easterdecoration on a sidetable. Then I put the same photo inside the frame. The font is Beladina Gadelia, a recent freebie by Creative Fabrica with a lot of glyphs and the dove silhoutte I found a long time ago on the internet.
This information would be extremely useful and I wish it was there when I joint the membership. Personally I always try to find things out for myself, but it would have saved me hours and a lot of chagrin!
I would love a workshop on vectors too. Slowly I’m beginning to understand them, at least I think so, but learning through a workshop helps so much! I’ll look forward to it.
Indeed the weather turned a lot better and I could take the photos I wanted. It’s somewhat crazy to take pictures of the places that are so familiar, you don’t even think about doing so! I made everything from scratch but a template gave me the idea for the mask over the full width of the page.
The letter H is for “Haansberg” which translates in rooster mountain, althought mountain in this case only means a slight rise in the terrain. This little road was once a quiet countrylane with small farms on both sides, now on the righthand side it is the city limits with only some farms left on the lefthand side of the road. Most of them are converted into housing accommodations. At one end of the road is a iron plaque of a rooser and on the other end a small war memorial that the inhabitants of this neighbourhood erected as thanks that their street wasn’t damaged in WWII. There has been heavy fighting in the area.
Thank you Ann and Bonnie!!!
Here is my layout again. On Facebook Sue said it was a pity that the mask obscured my photo and I agree. So I painted with white on the flowers, not on the greenerie and it looks much nicer now. Thank you Sue!
Ann in Dutch these little bulbs are called: blauwe druifjes (little blue grapes) or witte druifjes (little white grapes).
No thank you Colin We moved 5 years ago and only fairly recently we discarded the last of those boxes!
I like the colors in this palette and used from Alinamaria templates Avril 21, which I downloaded last year when we did the Love Challenge with another one of her templates. I’m getting a fan of templates especially when I want to do something quickly because I didn’t have much time to scrap! I still have to watch the last masterclass, but having been able to celebrate my birthday with family and friends was good too. Although everything spread over 5 days was a bit stressy with the preparations but at least we could have visitors again after 2 years!
I have the mitered corner script too and like Marie-Claire I was a little put off when trying to execute it the first time. I always read the instructions very carefully but sometimes it can be difficult because they are in English. The use of a good oldfashioned paper dictionary next to my computer is a great help for understanding. Besides that I like to find out for myself how it has to be done and I use that script now without a problem. I just checked the video if I do it correctly and it would have been great if this video was available with the script.
For my letter H I need to take some photos, but the weather was so bad recently that I couldn’t do so. Next week it should get better according to the weatherforcast and then I can make my H! The same goes for the letter I, so hopefully I can do those photos too. For most of the remaining letters I have all the pictures I need.
Lynda,
I’m in the Netherlands and that is very far from where you are, but the weather in parts of the States can sometimes be similar to the weather in Europe! Our weatherforcast is saying that the coming week will be much better with the temperatures rising to about 18 Celsius in daytime and sunny too!
Hopefully you will get a nice spring,
Corrie

I see the tag is hard to read, so here is it on its own.
After the month March had gorgeous weather, April started with snow, night frost, rain and wind! All of which gave me the idea for this layout with the word OVER. I still in “template”mode after the last workshop and used the freebie for this month. The background is made of 2 papers with a leafy border in different colors and a blend mode which gave me the color I wanted. The font is Japan Stylish and the font on my tag is Michalina.
In= Individuals
G = Gratitute
A = Absent, I have no siblings!
Susan nice to see that we inspired you and you made a lovely cover! I often make an extra page on a project and use that as a cover. I probably will make a printed album with a lot of my work and a cover indicatres the theme or the workshop. I did so last year and it really was a conversation piece!
Mary Solaas, glad you liked my story! If I have a template for photos that are vertical and my photos are horizontal, I just rotate the template by 90°, make sure all layers is checked. The other elements I adjust as needed. What you made is lovely!
To conclude my story about the balloon I made a cover using the diamond template 2 from the workshop. I saved it until last with a cover in mind. During the ride the flame from the burner was very noticable and it was also rather hot. That’s the reason I choose the font JT Fire, which I have for a while (a freebie by Creative Fabrica). The flames are an overlay with a reduced opacity. For the paint splash I reduced the opacity too to let it blend in more with the photo, otherwise it was too white for my liking. Normally I don’t use bright orange much but the balloon dictated that color so to speak.
I loved doing this workshop and the chance it gave me to relive my balloon adventure!
Trish, you have been busy with the G, like them all!
This is the “Geerkade” along the “Turfvaart” which is been of great inportance in the development of the village. After the production of peat stopped, there came small factories like a soapproducing one called “De Ster”(The Star), which nowadays is a restaurant with the industrial look intact. The water was an important supply-line for all the raw materials and finished products. But with the industrial revolution and the coming of the trains it degraded and was no longer of importance. Their are modern houses and apartments build instead.
And this are the 2 templates of day 7 and that is the end of my story about the Balloon! Bon both pages I altered the template to what I needed for my story /photos. On the “packing” page I wanted to use the compass, but that couldn’t go under a photo, so for the round element I put it on top. The last page I rotated the template because my photos were landscape format and I didn’t want to alter the certificate I got for going on a balloonride. I know only have to do a coverpage and I have my story complete.
Carole thank you so much for this excellent workshop! I enjoyed all the work that was done by everybody!
Just like Ann I didn’t do my templates in the given order to suit my story. This is the Diamond template 5 and I changed it considerably (but they are just a starting point as Carole says). It has no title because the journaling speaks for itself. The background is a blurred skyphoto and instead of 4 little photos I made 2 larger ones, some papers and again a flairbutton that I made from the supplies in the balloon kit.
Now I have to look into day 7 of the workshop to conclude my story.
When we moved a couple of years ago we did the same thing and practically “robbed” the supermarket!
It takes me “hours” to scroll true all the lovely layouts for this workshop!!!!
This are both templates for day 6. On the What a view page I used a map as background and the word strips are from the balloon kit I use mainly for this theme. The balloon I extracted from a photo; the font is Stencil. On the other page I used the space for an element to put an extra photo. It has no title only some journaling. The plaids I made another time but the colors match, so I re-used it. The background is a photo of the sky with the opacity lowered. I have several sky photos and they are great as backgrounds., just as maps.
