Day 7 – I was able to do the background, but when added to the picture it appeared like the picture was sitting on top. Ha! I ended up making the background barely visible and it looks somewhat better. I’ll have to keep practicing the text, I just couldn’t get it quite right. My text has the sculpture effect, but that’s all. This is a picture I took at my home. I’m passionate about saving the pollinating bees. Cassel, I want to thank you so much for all that I have learned! I’ve been using Corel starting way back to Photo Paint 8 and never learned about layers and masks. This was fun and educational. Everyone’s pages are all so awesome!

Day 6. This effect was interesting and fun to learn. I’ll have to keep practicing, but this is my best attempt so far. The picture is of my daughter and her husband. I love everyone’s pictures that they are making!

Day 5 – This was a fun challenge. I ended up scrapping my first try and minimizing the amount of the paw brush strokes used. I know the bkg is a bit busy, but I’m happy with it. This is ZIM, a Savannah, who had been abandoned and wandered into my yard one day. I located the previous owner, but they didn’t want him as he is quite the handful and he does not like other cats. Savannah’s are worth a lot of money and while I was trying to find him a new ‘free and forever home’, he was stolen from me. After a long investigation and 54 heart breaking days, gratefully the police and animal control located and returned him back to me. He was in bad shape. Today, ZIM is now living on 60 acres outside of Lake Tahoe, California. He is loving life as an indoor and outdoor cat and his new family adores him. I love and miss him so much, but so grateful that he’s loved, healthy, safe and living the life that he deserves. I’m now an advocate for people to do their research before adopting exotic animals. (OK Cassel, let’s see if adding a bunch of text and changing the size of the pic a bit helps it to post. 🙂 Fingers crossed, thank you for your help!)

Cassel, I posted my day 5 and had to edit for spelling. It won’t let me re-submit. It states that it’s a duplicate post? I don’t see it, lol! It was right underneath Marie’s Day 7 of her pretty dog. I also did not receive the links for days 6 and 7. The group mails come through fine, not the links.

Here is my day 4 picture. This is my grandson and I when he was a baby. I found this challenge to be fun and easier than the others.  I made the paper and the frame and added the piece of clip art.

This is my love, Mike. He enjoys the outdoors and looks forward to riding his off road vehicle on new terrain. He also enjoys posting videos taken from his go-pro and drone’s videos. I know that my two smaller pics are too big, but they were taken by friend’s in poor quality lighting and needed this size to at least be somewhat legible. I am unable to go on many trips, so can’t take pics. Background is a pic that I took when we were out riding and that I added a texture to.  I love looking at everyone’s pages! So nice!!

Thank you Cassel, that worked. Not completely happy with this pic, but here it is. (I tried my best) Shortly after my grandson was born, my daughter and her infant son both underwent life saving surgeries. I’m so grateful that 5 years later I have them both in my life. She is my only child, as now Tanner is hers as well. I made the plaid background first and this was the only picture I could find of Tanner that matched the best. I did not receive Day 3 or 4’s e-mails, but tonight received Day 5’s. At the pace I’m going, perhaps that is a good thing! Lol! Thank you for your patience and help.

Cassel, can you please tell me why my background is showing through the picture that I’m using under the mask?

Cassel, I see now what’s wrong! (red face) I should be on the ‘fond’ layer? (background layer)

Hi Cassel, The Floating Selection is highlighted in the Layer’s Palette.

Hi Cassel, I have Paint Shop Pro 2018, 64 bit. I included a picture so you can see that under ‘Layers- New Mask Layer’- the ‘Show All’ is not highlighted. It worked fine on Day One’s template, however not on this one. Also, I received Day 2 on Feb 14th at 8pm.(my time)

Hi Cassel, PSP will not let ‘mask and show all’.  I can do everything else except that. Also, I just noticed that I did not receive Day 3’s info. I checked my spam folder. I feel like such a pest! Lol!

Hi, I have Paint Shop Pro 2018 and it is not liking these files for day two. I downloaded WinZip and opened them, however PSP will not allow me to work with them. I’m going to have to skip Day 2 for now and see if I can work with Day 3. I was able to make my plaid paper, that was a neat thing to learn. I love everyone’s pictures, very nice! 🙂

Sorry so late with this! This is my daughter and her hubby, and one picture with their son. I love them all so much. I learned some new things making this, it was fun. I ended up making the two smaller frames myself. I’m not used to working with layers and I couldn’t get them to look right. I’ll keep practicing.
