My Day 3. This Killdeer was one of several walking around our yard. I played around with lots of colors, patterns, textures and effects/plugins to get the background for this. I made my own mask and frame, and chose bevel # 6 for the border. The font I used is Qwerty Ability.
Peggy – Beautiful colors and a lovely picture!
Trish – I agree about the Hydrangeas — they are beautiful and bring back such wonderful memories!
Minka – Great job with the turtles and fish! I like the colors and quote you chose. Your day 2 image of the seashore is gorgeous. You’re right about getting away from it a bit — always helps me! Well done with your day 3 Tweet Tweet, too – great photos!
Lynn – Love the outdoors images you captured, and such truth to the words!
Annie – Beautiful love image! And such a nice effect with the faded image! Great caption — fits it perfectly!
Shirley – Great photos of the hen and her “chicks”! Your decorations work well with it. Your Day 2 anniversary image is beautiful and a wonderful tribute to the love of your life. Well done!
Jnet – Another beauty! Very nice!
Lydia – Such a cutie in your picture! You did her proud!
Sue – Nice job on Tomi!
Thank you so much, Annie and Cassel, for your kind comments!
My Day 2. The Gulf Fritillary, also known as the passion butterfly, is most commonly found in Florida and Texas. They have a defense mechanism in which they release odorous chemicals in response to predator sightings. As a result, common predators learn to avoid this species (I assume that’s why the garden spider in the picture isn’t interested, though the wing of this one seems to indicate it has been through a battle or two.)
I used the provided Cytisia-DCS-Template artsy2 file but made adjustments to the mask and other parts to fit my needs. I opted to use the plaid I made as a border instead of a background so as to not compete with my photo. Fonts I used are Gabriola and Mr DeHaviland.
Thank you, Annie and Cassel, for your kind words!
Annie – I love how you transformed the bleak day of the picture — wonderful job! Great creativity!
Jnet – Your hibiscus is so beautiful!
Sue – Your swallow image is very nice and as always, great info on what you did. The 2nd swallow image you posted showcases its striking colors — great photograph!
Trish, Barbara, Cristina, Lynda – Wonderful work!
My Day 1. This time of year, we see lots of American Goldfinches at our feeders. I used several of Cassel’s confetti tubes on this for decoration. Text is Black Jack font.
Well done, Shirley and Lydia!
Thanks, Annie! I appreciate the feedback!
Thanks, Mireille!
Cristina, thanks for your kind words!
I signed up, too. Will be my second time. Thoroughly enjoyed the first, and with you ladies participating, it’s going to be another great one!
I downloaded the TextPaper-Love freebie from Cassel and started playing with it. Then I put a Teddy Bear (another freebie of hers) on it and added a matching Teddy Bear bow (another freebie of hers). I used a seamless pattern from PSP Creations for the border and text (font Copper Black). I made the hearts from a preset shape followed by cutout effect and Eye Candy 5 Impact glass.
Annie – Love your sunset creation! The quote is perfect!
Sharon –
Thanks! I appreciate your kind words.
Your Day 6 is great! Love the mix of photos of your grandkids and underwater creatures! Having the diagonal split from the black background to the blue background was a good idea and worked well with your images. Well done!
Here is my Day 6.
Here’s my Day 3. The photos (including the background image) are mine. The font’s the same as used in the previous days.
Alicia – Thanks for your kind comments! You are doing such beautiful work with the images from your travels! It makes a person feel like they are there!
A few years back, we took a driving trip that went from Texas to Utah, and of course, I got lots of photos! For Day 2 of this Challenge, I picked two of the states we drove through, Colorado and Utah, and decided I would show the change of scenery that we got to enjoy. Because the landscapes and climates were so very different, I changed the backgrounds to reflect that dynamic. I also kept the masks on both pages the same to provide more continuity. The font is the same as what I used on Day 1.
Everyone’s work is so good and interesting! I’m enjoying them all and love seeing the inspirations, which makes for such a wide variety of results!
You are welcome, Libera!
Libera – I’m not sure where I originally got the font, but I searched online and found it is available for free here: https://best-font.com/fonts/download-calligraphic-421-bt-font.html
Thanks, Carole and Libera!
Libera – The font I used for all my text on Day 1 was Calligraph421 BT. I applied a bevel to it and, for the big header text, I also applied a drop shadow. The smaller informational text needed more definition beyond what the bevel provided, so I duplicated the raster layer and changed the blend mode to Hard Light.
Libera – I really like your Day 1! Very pretty garden images and such good photography!
Sue – It’s hard to beat your last year’s work, but you look like you are off to a great start on doing that!
David – Glad you were able to get the problem resolved. Good job on the magnolias! They are such beautiful and fragrant flowers!
Here’s my Day 1. Photos are mine. We’ve had a number of nesting cardinals this year, and had the amazing opportunity to watch them and their young through the various stages. We’ve also had successful hatches of Eastern Bluebirds, Northern Mockingbirds and Loggerhead Shrikes. To be able to watch and photograph them as the young fledge is a gift I greatly enjoy and appreciate!
Annie and Sue – Great job on your Day 1 images!!!
S = Spumoni
I’ve signed up. Not sure yet what I will be showcasing, but am pretty sure it will be something from nature. Thanks, Carole, for another opportunity to participate in one of your fun challenges!
Carole, you make it all possible. Thanks!!!
Dawn – Another beautiful card you’ve created! Thanks for the info on what you used.
Libera – Your green triangle image is great! Love the eyes on the letters looking at everything!! And it’s a nice tribute to Carole’s statement (I bet she likes it too!).
