Both links in this triggered the download for me. The freebie link at the bottom of the article also worked and I got the email with the download link, which also worked. It looks like all 3 links produced the same download.
Sue – Love your antelope and sandhill crane image!
Carole – The class was terrific!
For this challenge, I used a 5 point star with rounded inner and outer selected, and played with it to come up with this shape. Then I used the VectorTube script to tube beads of red swirly balls around it. I duplicated it, resized the duplicate, moved it to the top left corner and used Effects – Simple – Top Left Mirror to get the other corners. My background is 3 layers — the top is pink with a texture, the next down is a royal blue with blend mode set to Luminance (L), and the layer below is white. I applied a small drop shadow on the large shape, and a smaller one on the 4 corners.
Annie and Bonnie – Great job with your quick pages! You’ve done well, and have shown that that’s a great opportunity for lots of possibilities!
Minka – Love the “through-the-cherries” image! Very nice work on blurring the background — very well done and gorgeous results!
Cristina – Wonderful Road Trip page! It’s perfect atop your map background!
Trish – Your Mother’s Day page is beautiful and you did a nice job with the St. Patrick’s Day papers. Like your International Book Day page, too. And what a fine tribute for your son!
Annie – The Kingfisher page is lovely and the birds colors really make the page pop. Your pink robin is so pretty and nicely showcased with the glitter. Great job!
Michele – Both your cards are lovely, but I especially was drawn to the one you did for Anne Heller. The look is classic and I appreciate your explaining what it took to produce it. Like you, I’ve learned a lot from posts with details on how a look was achieved, and still do. Well done!
Shirley – Those are indeed a handsome pair of labs! You did a great job with the masks to showcase them. Lovely page!
Annie – I LOVE your sunrise-in-Cuxhaven-resized image!!! The colors are gorgeous! I checked out the tutorial I believe you used (Countryside) and they should be using your image instead of their own, as it’s a tremendous improvement! Well done!!!!
Thanks, Jnet, Sue and Annie!
Jnet – I’ve enjoyed seeing your hibiscus pages, each flower is so beautiful and you’ve showcased them well.
Cristina – What a really lovely collection of family pages you have made for this challenge! That’s something that you and your family will look back on and treasure!
Gerry – Have fun cleaning up those old family photos. You will have some priceless memories from your results!
Minka – The paint brushes tied together on the side of your Happy Easter picture really made for a nice touch on a beautiful page!
Annie – Your pages are always a delight, as are you and your uplifting and encouraging comments! You have such a wonderful attitude and it shows in all you do.
Shirley – You have the right caption for your Day 7 page, as your granddaughter truly is precious! Very nice!
Everyone – Such wonderful work has and is still being done. I’ve enjoyed looking at everyone’s pages and I look forward to seeing the rest as they are posted.
Cassel – Thanks again for this challenge!
My Day 7. I played a lot with the background, starting out using a portion of a landscape timber from the photo for a pattern. Through trying lots of plugins, I found one that made the wrinkled fabric look, and another that provided the blue pattern. My polka dots are pink, but at a much reduced opacity. The circle frame is one I made from a circle preset shape that started white, but then I applied Effects – Texture Effects – Sculpture using goldbeads. Then I applied Graphics Plus – Cross Shadow to it. I selected inside the gold circle frame and used Eye Candy 4000 – Glass to give it a look of being under a glass dome. The text is font Manohara Script. It started pink but I changed it to the gold via the inner bevel using a yellow color. The mums are from my flower bed.
Everyone has done such wonderful work during this challenge. It’s been a pleasure to look at all the pages!
Sue – All of your pages never cease to amaze, entertain and educate. I particularly like the chipmunk page, as it has so many details that pull it all together. Cassel touched on some, but another that you used that I liked was the curl brush. The edges of the mask look delicate, like little fine wisps. Very nice work and a lot of attention to detail, Sue – very well done!
Thank you Annie, Sue and Cassel!
My Day 6. This is one of the bluebirds that hatched in our bluebird box and fledged here. Fonts used are Distant Stroke and Bell MT.
Carole – Thanks for the feedback. You are right – it was upside down.
My Day 5. I used brushes to make the mask for the center image, which is Hank standing in the pond. I decided to make a round frame around it using the circle option of the ellipse preset shape. Then I duplicated it and adjusted the size of the duplicate so that I ended up with two nested frames. For the other images, I used Lismibaebi’s lbm15 mask. The rope is a tube I made from a photo I took of Hank’s rope, one of many that we made for him to play with. The background was done by applying Mura’s Meister Cloud plugin followed by a gaussian blur. The font is Bell MT.
Jnet – You have so many pretty hibiscus! This is another beauty. Very nice work!
Annie – Your Day 4 is so pretty! Love the background, and the woman’s eyes staring out by the title are a nice emphasis on your theme. It all works well together. Very nice!
Gerry – What terrific family photos! You put them all together very nicely – great job!
Cristina – Your day 2 picture is lovely (such a great family photo!) and what you did to make the colors in your background stand out worked well. Looks like everyone is indeed having fun in your day 3 image! I think the kaleidoscope pattern makes the title look snowy – nice effect!
Thank you, Cristina, Annie and Cassel!
Cassel – I had some ideas on what I wanted to do, but that changed the more I played with it. When I applied the texture (fine canvas, I believe), I liked that look and did some fine-tuning with it. That led me to then use Simple Diamonds to further tweak it, and after that, I adjusted the opacity of about 3 different colored layers to get the shade I wanted.
My Day 4. This rosebud is from an old-fashioned rose in my flower bed. I didn’t put a frame around the rose, as I wanted a simpler, more basic look. The background was done with a lot of playing around and trying different things, but the part that is most noticeable is the texture followed by the plugin Simple – Diamonds. The fonts I used, starting at the top, are Scriptina, Sophistica 1 and Trebuchet MS.
Cassel – It was easy to create my own mask following your instructions (I’ll admit to having the benefit of going through this challenge last year). It’s quite freeing to be able to make a mask that suits my needs rather than having to rely on a pre-made mask of someone else’s that might not be what I want. Thank you!
To all those folks who are struggling with masks, I have to agree with Cassel and others who have urged you to hang in there and keep trying. You’ll have that “Aha!” moment and after that, you’ll be so happy!
Annie – Your image is so lovely, and I like how you kept the kaleidoscope background from dominating. I think your floral corner is the part that really pulls it all together and makes it wow. Very nice!
Sue – Beautiful day 4! Great job!
Jnet – The embellishment you added highlights the beauty of your flower. Wonderful combination and such a beautiful result!
Thank you, Annie, for your comments on my work! Appreciate it!
