Hervey Bay, just over the strait from the iconic Fraser Island.
We can see it from our front yard.Love seeing everyones results which were all excellent.
Thank you Carole for another great challenge. I enjoy doing these
I don’t get a chance to always join in doing things but I really squeeze these in.
Always learn something in themLooking forward to the next one.
Day 7
I used photos of most of the grandbabies but just couldn’t get the text and photo’s perfect.
Or if I did their faces were too small. So just went with my original idea.
The word Grandma doesn’t really stand out though. Maybe a different font might have been better.Day 6
At the end of last year hubby went into a competition at the local bottle shop and won the esky.
He’d much rather it be a Jim Beam one, which is what he drinks, but winner are grinners and he’s very happy with the win!Well…… that was fun………. I’ve had that script sitting in my folders now for probably a couple of years. Never figured out why it wouldn’t work so never actually used it………. Have now and I’m happy. I was leaving out the Conver to path step and thats why it never worked!!! Thanks Carole…. it wont be sitting any more.
Day 5
I did this one with the colours of Australia- background is for Doreatha MacKellars poem….. the lines…… I love a sunburnt country / wide brown land for me are just a couple of lines of her poem.
and of course the ‘green and gold’.
This is our cousin who has made 2 trips to Australia now from Canada.
Not too sure about the letters….. Canadian I’m happy with – Cousin and Visit look a little ‘cramped’
I swapped out the elements with a bouquet of Australia flowers.
But didn’t know how to overlap like that so enjoyed doing it.Day 4
Today is a very special day so what better way to remember my Uncle. (Euka you inspired me)This is my Day 3.
I use X2 so don’t have the Text Wrap option. These are my grandbabies…… 2 of whom I’ve not met yet.
I have met Nathaniel, he was a prem baby and in NICU for nearly 3 months, never know if you saw him now!
Bella and Clay I’ve yet to meet.Euka Love your ANZAC Day tributes. Very special day but going to be so different. This will be the first time in 30 years I haven’t laid the wreath for the Fire Service here and been to services or marchs. But I was up at the front gate this morning to burn a candle and lay a wreath.
And my second one. I just used some backgrounds I had and put it together so no template used.
This was me just as I was leaving to go marry my man 16 1/2 years ago.My first one is an old ‘tag’ I did years ago. It was animated with the steam from the coffee but I was looking at doing something with the image itself and had it open so figured I’d use it.
Just submitted my final assignment of a course I’m doing so was a little light relief to play.Signed up……. love doing the challenges.
Time is the issue though but hopefully by when it starts life might be a little less chaotic!!I’m fine with you posting anything of mine.
Lots of lovely pages since I last got a chance to pop in.
Great work everyone.
Love the colours Rhonda. And your granddaughter is gorgeous in her ‘christmas’ dress.
Day 7
Wasn’t happy with a darker background, I like ‘light’, did the polka dot but with a heart shape brush, wire text using the sculpture texture and used a flower shape brush when doing the mask.
We love all our grandbabies but these 2 lived with us and they are the two we have the most photos for. No favouritism!!Thanks for another great challenge Carole. I really must practice your method of doing masked images more. I always make my masks, then just do them using mask layer/from image so the way you’ve shown us is a bonus.
Everyone has done gorgeous work…… and anyone that this is new too, well you’d never know…… they all look like everyones been doing this for years. Well done everyone.
Day 6
I’ve rushed this one a bit………. added a few sparkles to the bokeh ( I used a yellow back, not a big fan of the black) and did a bit of texture
I couldn’t get the mask to look right and gave up in the end and made a mask and used. Don’t know why but nothing I did ‘worked’ with the theme I wanted. Tried using a maple leaf around the edge of the mask and it just looked horrible.
So after 5 attempts and on borrowed time, I gave up, it was quicker to make one than keep fiddling. The theme I wanted was Canada as hubbys cousin was over from Canada.
So heres what I did. Next week when I have some time I might try again.Day 5
Our Queen Bee around the house. Miss Kitty……. given and recieved a lot of love in her 22 years.
And she still lets us know who’s boss too.Used a ‘starry’ type brush as she’s the star of our household.
Was going to use a frame but decided to just leave it as is.Not sure if I’ll get to do Day 6 and 7 till late Sunday or Monday.
Got the kids and grandkids here for the weekend, so will get to them as soon as I can. Thanks Annie
Yes our Christmas is very different to the northern hemisphere. It is really hard to find ‘aussie’ stuff although I do make a lot of things where I sell cards without a snowflake in sight lol I even made Santa’s in board shorts, singlets and thongs (what I think you call flip flops), Christmas trees out of gum leaves, and Santa (in his boardies of course) in a sleigh pulled by 6 white boomers in my designs. Oh and don’t forget the koala with its santa hat lol
Day 4
I like this method of making masks, I’ve done it before, but I don’t know how many times I went round the photos, white, no black, bit more white, some more black….. still not quite happy with it.
But it is fun!
This is my son and step son and their families and of course my daughter and partner and hubby and I.
I had 3 Christmas’s this year. Christmas Day, 27th and 28th December, just so at some point we could be together as family as everyone couldn’t be in the one place at the one time due to work.Day 3
Well after much hogwash (PSP freezing and having to close……and bad me for not saving) I have redone Day 3.
Not really happy with the main picture, no matter how much I played with the brightness so it wouldn’t be ‘cloudy’ I ended up going with it as it was.
This is my son and his gorgeous wife on their wedding day, with his brother and sister and myself and his stepdad.
The little quote reflects the family cycle.
I moved things around a little, rotated the mask to suit the photo and put a pink paper as the background (pink was their colours for the wedding) and did the kalidescope using the flowers from Kels bouquet, then used the blend overlay and lowered the opacity so it was just visible.
The ribbon also used the bouquet flowers. Thanks Annie.
Yes everyone is doing a wonderful job……telling tales of love.I’m LOVING this challenge
Day 2
I am not sure about the background being as dark as it is…….made my plaid and then put a navyblue behind it.
I didn’t like it with a light background.I duplicated one of the brushes and expanded it to go behind the mask group and then adjusted the brightness/contrast so it showed up better.
This is hubby and I at the presentation dinner for the Fire Service after the Australian Firefighter Games when they were held here.
And the text says it all.Well Day 1 done………interesting way to make a mask.
I used the main background but added one of the papers in the kit as an overlay.
Used the heart line embellishment in the kit also.
I stuck to the colours for the theme for our wedding.
I still get emotional thinking about our wedding day.Looking forward to this challenge.
Last one was the first I have done had enjoyed it so back again.Rhonda yes Miss Kitty is 21 she will be 22 on 5th February.
We had 4 of her babies until they passed over the past few years. They were 15 and 19 years when they passed.
We lost 2 of them within a week of each other and the last two within 2 wees of each other……. and mumma has outlived them all. She is showing no signs of anything major wrong with her so we might have her for a while yet.Rhonda love your Day 6.
The papers and element work so well. And Ash is a cutie.Well my last one…. Day 7
It has been fun and I’ve enjoyed doing them all.
Just one complaint……. while looking for scrapkits I have spent way too much time looking at ALL the kits that I’d totally forgotten about and have now ‘discovered’ again…… and thats only on the external hard drive I’m currently using.
Not to mention all the photos when searching for some to use, it was like a trip down memory lane lol.And the text wrapping……. what an awesome thing that is to have in PSP now. Definately going to have to try and save for a later version just for that alone. Using it a lot in Word, I love text wrapping so doing it the old way in PSP. Could I get used to doing text differently……. oh yes I could!!!
So this page is dedicated to my old girl (kitty). She is 22 yrs old next month and at the rate she’s going she’ll be around for a while yet I hope. She was actually a birthday present for my daughters 8th birthday but when she moved out of home at 20, I kind of inherited the cat.
Thanks Carole I’m glad I signed up! Even after PSP’ing for all these years I did learn somethingWell I knew I did this Bootcamp for a reason! Always something to learn and that ‘pinking shears’ manouver is BRILLIANT.
I did find though that having the size at 100 it was a very small serrated edge so I changed it up to 200 and wallah….. looked perfect.Again my grandson Axl…… always busy learning, playing and pretending…… he is a busy little bee so perfect subject for this one.
Day 5
More grandkid ‘spam’, this time Chloe and Riley. And Day 4
This is Nathaniel and Bella, 2 of my grandkids, during the school holidays last year. The shopping centre had a display of life size dinosaurs and activities for the kids as well. Nay and Bella had been painting dinosaur eggs.
Here is my Day 3 (I actually thought I’d posted so if there is 2 …sorry)
My grandson Axl off for his first day of kindy last year. He insists its ‘school’ as his older sister and brother go to school.
