Joe O, you have created a very nice effect of silhouette art in the example you have done . thanks for showing us.
Hello Cristina, you are not on your own, I will often do a few layouts and delete each one till I am happy with the result. The joy of it all, is the challenge itself.
best wishes,
Dawn.
Joe O …Terrific Pixie Vector! you have a great deal of natural talent to do vector drawings like that. Another great example of what can be done in PSP. Great work and well done! … thanks for showing us.
Hello Cristina, thank you for you kind comments on my layout. Masks are not that hard to do, I am sure you would enjoy making them, if you have some nice brushes that you can use.
Cristina, your layout is terrific! A very creative idea to use a pocket page like you have done, and the use of the cartoon clipart is great and catches the eye. I have seen the project life pocket pages and it is very effective . I have noticed that Cassel has a script and template for this idea…I am thinking to get them… as your project has inspired me to give it a try. Thanks for showing it . well done!
best wishes,
Dawn.
Hello Sheila, your project is very pretty. I love your butterflies and your doily is a nice background for them. Thanks for showing us.
best wishes,
Dawn.
liltiggerlvr, welcome to the forum if you are new. it is great to see every ones projects. You have let us see what a difference a month makes. the 2nd photo looks as though it must have been much more of a bleak day. Thanks for showing it.
I pondered what I would do for this challenge and then I came across 2 photo’s I had with 2 baby Koalas. As I looked at them, I got to thinking, baby was off to do some investigating. I made the mask and used it on the 2 photo’s. The tree and the Koala in the background was overlayed into the paper using the multiply blend mode and then lowered the opacity. With the map of Australia i used Cassel’s Hammered Metal Script on it to create the button.
best wishes,
Dawn.
Hello Cristina, thank you for your comment on my effort for this challenge. Your contribution for this challenge is great. How you have done the maps and clip art image with photo is very eye catching. really like it!
best wishes,
Dawn.
Royanne what a lovely memory page to have of your grand daughter. I really like the way you have put it all together. well done!
Royanne, a great page! and very creative use of the word “again” for this challenge. loved the idea of the apple theme. put a smile on my face while viewing it.
Thank you Cassel for your kind comments on my effort for this challenge. This Master Class challenge was a good idea, it has encouraged me to try some of the other blending modes that I have not thought about using. I use the multiply mode quite often but haven’t used the others too much at all. The process was quite simple and it does give a nice interesting effect . I will do more experimenting with them.
Dawn.
Here is my effort with the Blending Through – Double Exposure technique. it is amazing the different effects you can get with the blending modes. I put a koala in the map of Australia as a single png. Then I put the original photo over a white background and added some texture.
Royanne. You have done a terrific page.. the red background paper, that looks like it has a nice lace effect in it, really caught my eye. and your denim textured paper turned out great . Well done!
best wishes.

mcfin, thank you for your kind comment on my card project. I really like your page and glad that you shared it with us. it is great to see creative projects of other members. Your page reminded me of the movies and music of the 50’s and 60’s and how great it was. Hope to see more of your creations, and it doesn’t have to be just scrapbooking.
Cristina, I forgot to say thank you (in my post above) for your lovely comments on my page. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. These challenges are great! .. don’t you think.
Joe O, ……Very creative works shown above… you are very talented to create the vector shapes like you have done. . it is interesting to see how other folk use PSP. Thanks for showing us.
Cristina, You have done a great page layout. love the torn paper effects (I must experiment more with that idea),your leather hearts are really cute . Well done!
best wishes,
Dawn
Here is my page for this June 1-2-3-Challenge. I made the Denim textured Paper and the 3 pieces of Scotch Tape using Cassel’s tutorials. The 2 leather tags I used Cassel’s Leather Tag Script. Also I used Cassel’s Twisted String Tube. Flowers are from a purchased kit. Galvans Gorge is in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Thank you Cassel for all your help and these great challenges.
best wishes to everyone.

Wow! Cristina, a Beautiful page.. I love it. You didn’t “cheat” (as you put it) at all. Glad you decided to participate. Really when you think about it “Backyard” can mean areas around us in our various countries. My husband often refers to what we call “Outback Australia” as our Backyard. Did you make the Mask ? it is really pretty and sets the whole page .. your papers and all the extra elements you have made compliment your layout and is a delight to view it. Thank you for showing us.
Best wishes,
Dawn.
Thank you Cristina for your encouraging comments. I am sure there is room for further improvement, however, I am happy with my progress so far.
best wishes to you,
Dawn.
Thank you Sheila for your comments. No, I don’t have a Laser Printer- I just use a Canon Ink Jet. I have quite a few different colours of card stock that I make the card bases with and I just print up my card toppers ( as I call them) on the best photo paper quality card that I can afford and put them on the card bases. I also use the cheaper inks which I find are good enough to give a pretty good result, though, sometimes I just manually change the settings in the printer to get a better colour when I need to. The inks I get usually last me a while. I enjoy card making and the family and friends I give them to, as gifts, seem to like receiving them.
Best wishes to you and bye for now,
Dawn.
Back I May I mentioned I was learning to create Display Card templates for displaying how my finished cards look in reality after printing. With the help of Cassel’s Perspective Master Classes, I am slowly starting to achieve the effects I am after. Well here is another one I have done. The one below is a 5×5 card. Cassel’s corner punches were used (I love using them). I also used a Rose PSP Script I purchased some time ago as they make nice elements for my projects. The background brushes are my favourite leaves and rose ones I use often. The dewdrops on the petals I did with the water drop tube in PSP. The verse is one I have in my collection and I thought it fitted my project. I will be making some cards to give away as a gift.
Bye for now,
Dawn.
Marlene, thank you for your comments. I am hoping she will like it to and that it will bring her a bit of joy as we talk about it.
Cristina and Sheila, thank you both for your comments also. Memories of family activities over the years are to be treasured.
This month’s Theme of Backyard gave me an idea to do a page for my Mum. Mum is 98 years old now and her memory is failing, so I thought I would do a page and print it out for her to look at and maybe, spark a memory for us to talk about. Back in 1979 she had a small backyard but it was filled with flower gardens – a vegie patch and a fern house. Mum also had a little companion cat called Footsie who was always with her while she worked in her patch. I wasn’t sure I would find anything on backyards for this challenge, but, amazingly, I found these photos amongst my old collection.
Bye for now,
Dawn.
Marlene, lovely page of your Backyard Family BBQ. After 40years , to all be together again, would have been a wonderful time. Memories, I’m sure, you will never forget.
Cristina, thank you for your kind comments about my Silhouette Sunset page. The Challenges that Cassel has given us have been great and I am looking forward to more of them.
best wishes,
Dawn.
Hi Marlene, looking at the photo of the Circular Pool, and reading of your experience while you were there, I can understand how you would call it magical. I am sure it would be a special moment that you will never forget.
Marlene, I think your page looks terrific, love everything about it. Glad you didn’t put the photos in the delete folder. My brother and sister in-law are at present doing a trip to the Pilbara Region so it may be possible I will be given some snapshots of this area of WA.when they return. Enjoyed viewing your page, thanks for showing it.
Best wishes

Sheila, I find it a real pleasure to view other members creative work and taking time to comment on them. I also will get an idea pop into my head and usually I have to go and see what I can do with it. Thanks for sharing how you did the flowers I will have to get Cassel’s Petal font and do some experimenting. It is amazing how we can lift the effect of how flowers will look with just some shading. Look forward to seeing more of your creations.
Best wishes,
Dawn
Sheila, what a very creative idea. The basket and flowers look great. You must have a nice collection of flower tubes and your colour combination is delightful. Well done!
Best wishes,
Dawn
Cristina, a lovely silhouette photo. It conveys to me the joy of love and companionship while viewing the beautiful sites around us.
For this Silhouette Challenge I decided to have a go at making up a little scene. Started out with a free photo of a Sunset I have in my collection- modified it to have a black part on the bottom so I could add the silhouettes. I made silhouettes from 2 pictures I have, one of a man on horse and one of a cabin (which I put in the distance). The tree and grasses are brushes. When I finished my project my husband commented that it reminded him of his younger days in outback Australia, so I was happy with the results I achieved. Hope the colours are ok when you enlarge to view.
