“PSP users -Tip of the week: Cloning multiple times: If you want to clone a particular element multiple times, you can do it in two simple ways:
1- clone that part on a separate layer and just duplicate the layer as often as you want
2- uncheck the Align mode, and every time you will let go of the mouse button, the source will come back to the initial section.
You can easily add many eyes to your next Halloween face!I would like a demonstration of this technique as it is new to me. I have used the Clone Tool on photos but never on an element moved to a new layer and I didn’t know about the Align mode and what it does. I couldn’t find any reference to this in Tips & Tricks.
Two of my greats, Magic and Logan, using cass-word frame 2

Cassel/Carole: What is forcetalks? (in the above post) I’m afraid to click on it …
P = Philippine peso
Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Maverick Paolucci, ie: my granddaughter and new grandson-in-law. I used the Lab 12-9 for its template and how to do a cutout vector shape. The font is Biker Whiskey and I applied a Weave texture to the top and bottom papers that I filled with the colors of the girls’ dresses in the wedding party. I used a photo of the wedding flowers as a seamless tile to fill the background that shows through on the diagonal and the cut-out heart. The black bear is their spirit animal ever since their son, Logan’s, gender reveal almost 2 years ago.
Update: I have been out of touch for a few days, celebrating my granddaughter Ilana’s wedding and now my eldest daughter, Debbie, from California is staying with me so I’m not able to do much. I did get nine puzzle pieces but need 7 more to finish.
Not sure how long I have to participate. I’ll be back Monday at the latest. Good luck, y’all!
I’m registered. Last year I did a Downton Abbey calendar for my granddaughter, Anna, for Christmas. I found there were lots of photos available for that popular show so I might find another for this year. Wait and see!
Here’s a Green Heron in watercolor style with a fall overlay that was a Corel freebie this week. They had a TON of freebies! I created the double frame, first with one filled with a red wood pattern which I then make green using the Change to Target brush. (Love that tool!) Then I added the outer frame using off-white. I used a little inner and outer bevel and finish up with buttonize on both.
Edit: forgot to put shadows on the overlay.

I have a request. I’m admiring the design of the Money Bill. Can we learn how to do that, if it’s something done in PSP?
Using one of Cassel’s Money Bills, here’s one I did for my turtle-loving daughter, Laurey. It’s her birthday next week. I used the font Algerian which was close to what Carole supplied.
Jannette: I really like that style with the cutout letters at the top. Must try it soon.
Susan: Thanks for the kind words! Very much appreciated. 🙂
For lack of anything else I’m still playing around with the watercolor effect. Here’s a photo from my Rodeo layout done up as a watercolor with a frame and a label. I’m also getting a lot better at making my own frames.
The Tut/Tech Challenge is still up for August and since it’s a new month I’ll post this watercolor here. The most complicated part was the label.
I agree with Rene. Sub-categories are the way to go. I think it’s best to plan for expansion, even when we’re not that large yet. I do see many new people participating. Perhaps they were “lurkers” in the past but now they’ve “joined the club.”
E = Egyptian pound
A = Afghan afghani – the currency of Afghanistan
I’ve done a design incorporating a story, a sport and that same scraplift. The sport is Rodeo. I flipped the design from the last scraplift about Chicago. The Dutchess County Fair was here last week. It’s just across the Hudson River from where I live.
Corrie: That’s beautiful! I can see your love of flowers in many of your layouts. When I did this challenge, I also used the raster-to-mask script. It saved a lot of time with those pie-shaped photos.
Carole: I have a question for the Q & A. I am struggling with how to add shadows to anything that is on a black or dark background. Is there a technique for that?
Here’s my Money scrap page – MY FIRST JOB. All photos “found on Google” and layout based on the July Sketch Challenge.
Here, Susan, now you can make a scrap page with your dream. You may find it “therapeutic.” 😉
Cindy: Of course you can share it with your daughter. I put a full size .jpg in the Files section of our Scrapbooking with PaintShop Pro Facebook group. It will print on normal printer paper. Enjoy!
C = Centavo – Mexican coin worth .10 of a peso which is worth about $ .05 US
New month, new Big Cat Calendar. For September we have a pair of African Lions. They are the only big cats that live in family groups and the male defends his territory and sires the new generation while a group of females do all the hunting. These calendars are from Cassel’s yearly templates. They just need a photo and some color. I have posted a .jpg in the Files section of the Facebook group. It prints out at 8.5″ x 11″
Here is my Story Time 6b-FEAR. I confronted one of my biggest fears: HEIGHTS. Though it’s odd I don’t mind flying. After playing with this design, I find it has been quite therapeutic! 😉
Finally got going on #7 – Good Deed. This was my activism for many years. And of course, I still vote. 🙂
Playing with a photo from our local Duchess County Fair, adding mat and frame from PSP.
August Scraplift Challenge: Playing around with some of my kid’s photos from Chicago plus some from the Chicago travel website, I came up with this for the Scraplift Challenge. I did find a new way to make stripes. I had used a gradient called White Sand for the background paper and I want to use those colors for the striped paper. So, I used the same gradient at a 45-degree angle with 24 repeats. Voilà!
