Corrie: Are you by any chance using a pad like the Wacom with its pen? Or is it the pen tool inside PSP for drawing vectors?
Two thoughts on the Pen Tool and vectors in general. An intense week or two of classes just using mostly vectors would probably help me. OR can’t you do a script that would do it for me? 😉
Trish: I got it after being approved to join that group. I never heard of Maniacs before, and I see Carole is an admin. It looks like fun! Thank you!
Anne, where did you get Trish’s ornament? I looked in the Files on Facebook but didn’t see it.
Robot topic:
There’s a story behind this page. My granddaughter and her husband with little Logan were waiting online to see Santa for over an hour. Logan, understandably, got restless and by the time they reached Santa, Logan wasn’t having any of it!

Susan: I can’t see your invisible “kitty!” Did you post something about her?
Never mind, I just got to the Campus Update and now I see what you were talking about. Sorry…
I have a robot vacuum cleaner, the Roomba. Unfortunately, I can never convince either of my cats to ride on it! It is my “back saver” as I cannot push around the kind with a handle. I also have the Alexa virtual assistant all through my house which mystifies my cats as I talk to it and it answers me. 😉
Brian, did you upload an image? If so, I can’t see it. I like to follow your work.
I had another go at the paper tree in Lab 12-Mod 12. Here is Two Trees. Details are:
- Word Art by Sue Thomas
- Trees – tutorial in Lab 12-Mod 12
- City-cass picture tube
- Stars – Gingerscraps Vintage Christmas
- All other decor: Scandinavian Christmas Clip Art
Thank you, Colin! Merry Christmas to you, also!
Oh, the toilet paper debacle hit hard down here! My little girl, Eve, is pictured guarding our horde!
I tried the Paper Tree from the Lab. My notes are:
LAB 12-MOD 12
GINGERSCRAPS-VINTAGE CHRISTMAS KIT
EVERYTHING PAPER EXCEPT ANGEL, STAR & BRADSSue, those are spectacular! My daughter has been using the moon in her art lately so I’m well “mooned.” 😉 I see the individual shots, which you said were new, are labeled with the year 2023. The images must really take a long time to travel to Earth! 😀 j/k

My subscription to the New York Times allows me to share 10 free articles a month. Here’s the one announcing Pantone’s Color of the Year.
Actually, I like this shade as as someone comments in the article, this is the M in CMYK. If you’re at all involved in print, it is a vital designation.
Bonnie: That’s a great layout! I didn’t know that Xenas was a general term for strong women. I’m familiar with a minor superhero type named Xena Warrior Princess who had a tv show until 2001. Of course, she was shaped like a Playboy Bunny for the masses. It was many years ago and women were not as appreciated then as they are coming to be now. I have always been a strong advocate and dragged my daughters to Women’s Rights marches in the 60s.
Marie-Claire: I’m admiring that folded paper tree; quite clever! I’ll have to hunt down that Lab 12-Mod 12 and try it! Of course, your paper is perfect for it; I’ll have to see what I have to suit.
Sue: The scallops work well with your winter/snow theme.
Lynda, that works. Thank you! I’ve signed up for their weekly newsletter.
I had 4 photos that my daughter in California took at Thanksgiving, so I “borrowed” Corel’s freebie (with a lot of edits!)
Here are the details copied from the Image Information:
- MY FAVORITE GIFTS COLLAGE – COREL FREEBIE
- FONT: VALENTINA – EARTH 4 GRADIENT – INNER BEVEL
- BACKGROUND: ENLARGED PHOTO – GAUSSIAN BLUR
- PHOTOS BY DEBBIE LENNOX
- GIVE THANKS STICKER FROM MY CLIPART LIBRARY
Thanks, Lynda. I tried that treehuggers.com address but there’s nothing there. Do you have a link for it?
By the way, I think we should probably be posting these in the December forum. What are you working on (in Dec 2022)
Nice, Lynda! Of course, I prefer your Residents of the Savanna. They’re my kind of “people!” 😉
E = Eostre. A West Germanic goddess of the spring season. (paganism) A pagan festival celebrated either in March or April to welcome the Spring, also called Ostara or Easter.
Utilizing the multiple frame technique, here’s a tree in downtown Warwick dazzling the neighborhood.
Here’s another QP showing Spring in my neighborhood.
I used the same Quick Page to make two different layouts: one for Spring and the other for Fall.
Corel had an Autumn Collage frame
I wanted to try out the new snowflake picture tube, so I took Cassel’s snowy window and added a snowy photo behind it. The photo was filled with bright sunshine, so I re-colored the sky with the Paint to Target Brush, taking the color from another photo I found of darkened sky. I lowered the opacity a bit on the photo and on the layer with the snowflakes. Ta-da!
